Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I request an adopter for the update-inetd package.

The package description is:
 This package provides a program used by other packages to
 automatically update /etc/inetd.conf, the configuration file shared
 by all implementations of the Internet super-server.
 .
 Note that xinetd is not supported by this package.

update-inetd is a native package, implemented in perl, and with system tests
in python.

update-inetd has serious design flaws and is meant to be replaced by another
tool, as described in DEP9 (http://dep.debian.net/deps/dep9/)

The adopter should look at DEP9, and consider also adopting reconf-inetd
(also RFA'd, see #719792).

We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of

Bug#732011: O: gyrus -- GNOME tool for Cyrus-IMAP servers administration

2018-05-13 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Willem, gyrus was removed from Debian Testing 3 months ago because it
depends on gconf.

It has also been abandoned upstream.

Do you intend to at least port it away from gconf?

It would be helpful if you ported it to gtk3 also.

Otherwise, I think it would be better if we remove gyrus from Debian
Unstable too.

 Dump in hexadecimal the content of a scalar. The result is returned in a

 the source in hexadecimal. The rightmost column of each line shows the
 printable characters (all others are shown as single dots).

This is a new dependency of Smokeping introduced in the 2.7.2
release. I would love for the perl team to just carry this one, as I
will probably have no other use for it.

dh-make-perl seems to do a decent job with it, and i intend to upload
this to unstable or experimental when i figure out how to un-mess the
smokeping package.

Too late :)
I uploaded libdata-hexdump-perl yesterday night after you talked
about it on IRC, and it's already ACCEPTED.

 The Cloud SQL Proxy allows a user with the appropriate permissions to
 connect to a Second Generation Cloud SQL database without having to
 deal with IP whitelisting or SSL certificates manually. It works by
 opening unix/tcp sockets on the local machine and proxying
 connections to the associated Cloud SQL instances when the sockets
 are used. See https://cloud.google.com/sql/docs/mysql/sql-proxy for
 details.

  Description : OpenStack Firewall as a Service - dashboard plugin

 Neutron provides an API to dynamically request and configure virtual networks.
 These networks connect "interfaces" from other OpenStack services (such as
 vNICs from Nova VMs). The Neutron API supports extensions to provide advanced
 network capabilities, including QoS, ACLs, and network monitoring.
 .
 This package contains the Neutron FWaaS OpenStack dashboard plugin.

Note: This was previously embedded code in the OpenStack Dashboard
(aka: Horizon) and was since moved into a separate plug-in.

Description: Large-scale systematic epigenome imputation
 ChromImpute is software for large-scale systematic epigenome imputation.
 ChromImpute takes an existing compendium of epigenomic data and uses it to
 predict signal tracks for mark-sample combinations not experimentally mapped
 or to generate a potentially more robust version of data sets that have been
 mapped experimentally. ChromImpute bases its predictions on features from
 signal tracks of other marks that have been mapped in the target sample and
 the target mark in other samples with these features combined using an
 ensemble of regression trees.

Description: Chromatin state discovery and characterization
 ChromHMM is software for learning and characterizing chromatin states.
 ChromHMM can integrate multiple chromatin datasets such as ChIP-seq data of
 various histone modifications to discover de novo the major re-occuring
 combinatorial and spatial patterns of marks. ChromHMM is based on a
 multivariate Hidden Markov Model that explicitly models the presence or
 absence of each chromatin mark. The resulting model can then be used to
 systematically annotate a genome in one or more cell types. By automatically
 computing state enrichments for large-scale functional and annotation datasets
 ChromHMM facilitates the biological characterization of each state. ChromHMM
 also produces files with genome-wide maps of chromatin state annotations that
 can be directly visualized in a genome browser.

  Description : finds overrepresented transcription factor binding sites

This packages takes a motif database of transcription factor binding sites
(TFBS) and expects a list of genes that are found co-regulated. It then points
to
those TFBS that seem statistically most unlikely to be observed by chance.

The package already lives at

* Package name: gnome-shell-extension-appindicator
  Version : 22
  Upstream Author : Jonas Kümmerlin
* URL : https://github.com/ubuntu/gnome-shell-extension-appindicator
* License : GPL-2+
  Programming Lang: JavaScript
  Description : AppIndicator/KStatusNotifierItem support for GNOME Shell

This extension integrates Ubuntu AppIndicators and KStatusNotifierItems
(KDE's blessed successor of the systray) into GNOME Shell.

Features:
 - show indicator icons in the panel
 - reveal indicator menus upon click
 - double clicking an icon will activate the application window
   (if implemented by the indicator)
 - middle mouse click an icon to send a 'SecondaryActivate' event
   to the application. Support needs to be implemented in the application

I intend to maintain this package under the GNOME Team umbrella.

* Package name: super-csv
  Version : 2.4.0
  Upstream Author : Kasper B. Graversen
* URL : http://super-csv.github.io/super-csv/
* License : Apache-2.0
  Programming Lang: Java
  Description : CSV library for Java

It is highly configurable, and supports reading and writing with POJOs,
Maps and Lists. It also has support for deep-mapping and index-based
mapping with POJOs, using the powerful Dozer extension.

Its flexible 'Cell Processor' API automates data type conversions
(parsing and formatting Dates, Integers, Booleans etc) and enforces
constraints (mandatory columns, matching against regular expressions
etc) - and it's easy to write your own if required.

This project is a dependency of Jameica/Hibiscus, I ITPed in #690874.

I'm planning to maintain super-csv as part of the java-team and pushed
an initial version to salsa:

  Description : OpenStack Integration Test Suite - Horizon plugin

 Tempest is a set of integration tests to be run against a live Openstack
 cluster in order to make sure that all components are working as expected.
 Tempest will start and stop virtual machine in order to check that your
 cloud is working as expected.
 .
 This package contains the OpenStack dashboard (aka: Horizon) plugin.

This package is used by the puppet-openstack functional test suite, which
I'm currently porting to Debian. It's going to be used in upstream CI.

Description:
 SOAPaligner/soap2 is a member of the Short Oligonucleotide Analysis
 Package (SOAP) and an updated version of SOAP software for short
 oligonucleotide alignment (soap v1). The new program features in super
 fast and accurate alignment for huge amounts of short reads generated by
 Illumina/Solexa Genome Analyzer. Compared to soap v1, it is one order
 of magnitude faster. It require only 2 minutes aligning one million
 single-end reads onto the human reference genome. Another remarkable
 improvement of SOAPaligner is that it now supports a wide range of the
 read length.
 .
 SOAPaligner/soap2 benefitted in time and space efficiency by a revolution
 in the basic data structures and algorithms used. The core algorithms and
 the indexing data structures (2way-BWT) are developed by the algorithms
 research group of the Department of Computer Science, the University
 of Hong Kong (T.W. Lam, Alan Tam, Simon Wong, Edward Wu and S.M. Yiu).

Bug#898569: RFP: open-broadcast-encoder -- Video stream transcoder

2018-05-13 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-CC: Debian Multimedia Maintainers

* Package name: open-broadcast-encoder
  Version : n/a, git repo not tagged
  Upstream Author : Kieran Kunhya
* URL : http://www.obe.tv/
* License : GPL
  Description : Video stream transcoder

The system is used by TV stations to convert from SDI video signal to
video streams than can be transported over the Internet.

The upstream author report that it will be hard to package for Debian,
as it uses patched versions of x264, ffmpeg and other libraries.

As we use this software in the Norwegian open channel Frikanalen, I
would love to see it in Debian and thus create this WNPP request to have
a place to discuss.

Bug#898545: ITP: scrapbookq -- Firefox extension to save and manage Web pages

2018-05-13 Thread W. Martin Borgert
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: "W. Martin Borgert"

* Package name: scrapbookq
  Version : 0.1.8.0 (2018-01-23)
  Upstream Author : Joey Liu
* URL : https://github.com/tahama/scrapbookq
* License : MIT/X11 (see below)
  Programming Lang: JavaScript, Python 3, Go (see below)
  Description : Firefox extension to save and manage Web pages

Long description: See existing scrapbook package, which is not
compatible with the latest Firefox and must be replaced by
something else. Maybe this one.

License: According to
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/scrapbookq/, the
extension is MIT/X11, but I cannot find any license on the
github project.

Programming Lang: The extension is written in JavaScript, but
there are helper programs in Python 3 and Go, which seem to be
equal in function (guessing from their names). I would try to
avoid the Go version, so that no arch ≠ all package were needed.

Maintenance will happen in the Debian Mozilla Extension
Maintainers team.

Any help is welcome! Any friendly or even not so friendly
takeover of this ITP is very welcome, too!

Bug#898541: O: cortina -- Wallpaper changer for gnome

2018-05-13 Thread Abhijith PA
Package: wnpp
Tags: buster unstable

Hi,

I am orphaning cortina. Its been more than three years since a new
upstream version released. As Qt transition is happening, this package
will kick out from coming stable release. If anyone interested in
porting this package to latest Qt version, please adopt.

Cortina is my first debian package :) and learned many from things while
maintaining it.

Thanks,
Abhijith
