Bug#910052: RFH: mysql-workbench -- visual database modeling, administration and queuing tool

2018-10-01 Thread Dmitry Smirnov
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal
Control: affects -1 mysql-workbench

mysql-workbench is in crisis as I can not build the new upstream release from
source any more. I'm lacking capacity and expertise required to address all
the problems.

M-W 8.0.12 requires new package "libanrlr4c-dev" which is not provided by
src:antlr4. Either ANTLR4 package should be updated to provide Cpp support or
it might be introduced as a standalone package similar to "libantlr3c".

ANTLR4 might need update to version 4.7.1 as well.

I've dumped my draft packaging to

  https://salsa.debian.org/debian/mysql-workbench/tree/experimental

in hope that someone might be able to take care of it.

Any update here? Still planning on maintaining this package?

I thought I did, but seem's only filled them for gmmlib. So here they are:

Sure, those are:

* Broadwell
* Skylake
* Broxton
* Apollo Lake
* Kaby Lake
* Coffee Lake
* Cannonlake
* Ice Lake

I'll use the full code names in the description.

I don't have any strong feeling regarding maintainership of gmmlib. If you want
to take it over -- as you already have packaged it -- please go ahead. We can
also co-maintain it under the multimeida team umbrella.

It requires

   https://github.com/gkdr/libomemo (MIT)

which are used as git submodules in the above but maybe should be
packages separately.

 check_pgactivity is designed to monitor PostgreSQL clusters from Nagios &
similair products.
 It offers many options to measure and monitor useful performance metrics.

This script is heavily used to monitor our customers' PostgreSQL instances
through Nagios. Development is active (and I'm part of it).

check_pgactivity depends only on bare Perl and postgresql-client. It is not a
requirement for any other package.

This would be my first package. First tests are encouraging. I intend to
maintain it (and others) as a part of my job. While the goal is the mainstream
Debian, I suppose that I need a mentor from the PDGD team.

Collects PostgreSQL statistics, and either saves them in CSV files or print
them on the stdout

This simple tool is very handy to follow the internal activity of a PostgreSQL
instance, in a similar way to sar ou vmstat. I don't know of a similar tool.

It is bare C depending only on libpq-dev & postgresql-server-dev-all for
building. No package depends on it.

This is ideal for my first package with compilation. My first tests are
encouraging. I intend to maintain it as part of my current job. The upstream

  Programming Lang: JavaScript
  Description : Serialize JavaScript to a superset of JSON

 This superset of JSON includes regular expressions, dates and
functions. The
 code in this package began its life as an internal module to express-state.
 .
 Advantages over JSON.stringify(): sometimes we need to serialize JavaScript
 functions, regexps or dates. A great example is a web app that uses
 client-side URL routing where the route definitions are regexps that
need to
 be shared from the server to the client.
 .
 The string returned from this package's single export function is literal
 JavaScript which can be saved to a .js file, or be embedded into an HTML
 document by making the content of a

Please actually fill out these values.

Can you please not use (internal?) abbreviations of code names? From
this description I could not tell if I want it, even if I own Intel
chips of multiple generations.

Bastian

FYI, I've packaged this (without an ITP I know..), but didn't know
whether to put it under xorg-team/lib or elsewhere. So I pushed it here
for now, use it or leave it:

Bug#910002: ITP: combblas -- an extensible parallel graph library for graph analytics

2018-10-01 Thread Drew Parsons
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Drew Parsons

* Package name: combblas
  Version : 1.6.2
  Upstream Author : (c) 2018, The Regents of the University of California,
through Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and University of California,
Santa Barbara
* URL :
https://people.eecs.berkeley.edu/~aydin/CombBLAS/html/index.html
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: C++, C
  Description : an extensible parallel graph library for graph analytics

The Combinatorial BLAS (CombBLAS) is an extensible distributed-memory
parallel graph library offering a small but powerful set of linear
algebra primitives specifically targeting graph analytics.

- The Combinatorial BLAS development influences the Graph BLAS
  standardization process.
- It achieves scalability via its two dimensional distribution and
  coarse-grained parallelism.
- CombBLAS powers HipMCL, a highly-scalable parallel implementation of
  the Markov Cluster Algorithm (MCL).
- Operations among sparse matrices and vectors use arbitrary user
  defined semirings.

combblas implements AWPM, a row permutation algorithm now offered in
superlu-dist as an alternative to the non-free MC64 algorithm.
Consequently combblas will make superlu-dist much more useful than it
has been in the past.

It will be packaged under the Debian Science team alongside
superlu-dist.
