I request an adopter for the doctrine-sphinx-theme package.

I initially packaged it to build doctrine-orm-doc, but we don’t build it
anymore (not DFSG compliant anymore), so I’m not interested anymore into
its maintenance (and will ask for its removal if nobody shows any
interest into it before Stretch).

The package description is:
 This is the common Sphinx theme for all Doctrine project documentations.

Regards

David

Bug#912348: ITP: netconsole -- Dynamically configure Linux netconsole

2018-10-30 Thread Benjamin Drung
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Benjamin Drung

* Package name: netconsole
  Version : 0.1
  Upstream Author : Benjamin Drung
* URL : https://github.com/profitbricks/netconsole
* License : ISC
  Programming Lang: Bash
  Description : Dynamically configure Linux netconsole

Netconsole is a Linux kernel module that sends all kernel log messages
over the network to another computer. It was designed to be as
instantaneous as possible, to enable the logging of even the most
critical kernel bugs. It works from IRQ contexts as well, and does not
enable interrupts while sending packets. Due to these unique needs, only
IP networks, UDP packets and Ethernet devices are supported.

This package contains a netconsole service that dynamically configures
netconsole by configuring one or more hosts by their names or IP
addresses.

The initscripts package on CentOS 7 provides a /etc/init.d/netconsole
initscript that can configure netconsole by just configuring SYSLOGADDR.
The functionality is similar, but this package also provides also a
systemd service and allows to specify multiple log hosts.

Beside the CentOS script, I found no other tool doing this job.
Therefore I published our inhouse package to get it into Debian.

I am open to merge this script and service into a other packages if this
package is considered to be too small.

I intent to work on the package chkboot proposed in the RFP #792380.

Can someone from Debian could create an empty repository at
https://salsa.debian.org/debian/chkboot and put me (lyknode-guest) as
the maintainer?

Best regards,

Bug#912339: ITP: haskell-rio -- standard library for Haskell

2018-10-30 Thread Ilias Tsitsimpis

  The goal of the rio library is to make it easier to adopt Haskell for writing
  production software. It is intended as a cross between:
   * Collection of well designed, trusted libraries
   * Useful Prelude replacement
   * A set of best practices for writing production quality Haskell code

This is a dependency for newer versions of stack (>= 1.7.1) and
yesod-core (>= 1.6.6).

Bug#912338: ITP: createrepo-c -- tool to create RPM repository metadata (C implementation)

2018-10-30 Thread Peter Pentchev
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Peter Pentchev

* Package name: createrepo-c
  Version : 0.11.1
  Upstream Author : Tomas Mlcoch et al
* URL : https://github.com/rpm-software-management/createrepo_c
* License : GPL-2+
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : tool to create RPM repository metadata (C implementation)

  The createrepo_c tool generates the repodata directory and XML metadata
  that makes up a repository of RPM packages. This repository format is
  supported by apt-rpm, red-carpet(zen), smartpm, up2date, yast, and yum.

  This package is similar to the apt-ftparchive or reprepro commands, but for
  working with RPM repositories.

I intend to package this tool since it seems to be the preferred
alternative to the already packaged createrepo Python tool (and many
thanks to Mike Miller for maintaining that package!) in at least
the Fedora RPM packaging community. Thus it might be useful for people
maintaining their own repositories of RPM-packaged software; there is
no reason not to be able to do that on a Debian system :)

(and for anybody keeping track, yes, for the present I have copied
 the long description of the createrepo package verbatim; if this
 turns out to be undesirable, I will of course change it before
 uploading)

G'luck,
Peter

Indeed, while preparing an update of calibre and checking for recs/sugs
I realized it should go into contrib, but was already uploaded to
ftp-master, and I cannot delete it from there and re-upload.

Yeah, I've ended up having to use the non-packaged esptool on occasion
because the flasher stub makes things easier.

To answer the question you asked on IRC (you left before I could
answer); I'm using the ESP8266 toolchain built from the pkg-electronics
git repo myself, with the esp-open-sdk and no problems. However I got
the ESP32 toolchain built and had problems getting it integrated with
the esp-idf SDK; various issues with not finding the system includes.
I'm sure it's a matter of fighting with the build system a bit more, but
I'm just getting started with the ESP32 so haven't investigated further.

The ESP8266 is of much greater interest to me. I'm a bit torn about
packaging the SDKs up, because they seem to be moving targets and aren't
as relevant from the Debian side of things. So I have no immediate plans
to do so, though I had some conversations with Keith Packard about at
least getting newlib/nano support for the ESP chips into Debian.

> Also moving to gcc-8-source seems in order.

I've had this on my todo for a while, just not got round to it yet.

If unrardll is itself free software, then it should go in contrib, not
non-free. contrib is the archive area for free software with dependencies
that are non-free (or are not in Debian main for some other reason).
