Description : Dynamically configure Linux netconsole

Netconsole is a Linux kernel module that sends all kernel log messages
over the network to another computer. It was designed to be as
instantaneous as possible, to enable the logging of even the most
critical kernel bugs. It works from IRQ contexts as well, and does not
enable interrupts while sending packets. Due to these unique needs, only
IP networks, UDP packets and Ethernet devices are supported.

This package contains a netconsole service that dynamically configures
netconsole by configuring one or more hosts by their names or IP
addresses.

The initscripts package on CentOS 7 provides a /etc/init.d/netconsole
initscript that can configure netconsole by just configuring SYSLOGADDR.
The functionality is similar, but this package also provides also a
systemd service and allows to specify multiple log hosts.

Beside the CentOS script, I found no other tool doing this job.
Therefore I published our inhouse package to get it into Debian.

I am open to merge this script and service into a other packages if this
package is considered to be too small.

Description : Inline Tests for OCaml

qtest extracts inline unit tests written using a special syntax in comments.
Those tests are then run using the oUnit framework and the qcheck library. The
possibilities range from trivial tests -- extremely simple to use -- to
sophisticated random generation of test cases.

This is one of the dependencies of the next version of Haxe (4.0.0).

I'm going to maintain it with the Debian OCaml Task Force.

Description : Render configuration files from Jinja templates

ionit is a simple and small configuration templating tool. It collects a
context and renders Jinja templates in a given directory. The context
can be either static JSON or YAML files or dynamic Python files. Python
files can also define functions passed through to the rendering.

ionit comes with an early boot one shot service that is executed before
the networking service which allows one to generate configurations files
for the networking and other services before they are started. In this
regard, ionit can act as tiny stepbrother of cloud-init.

I developed this tool since we found nothing similar. We will use ionit
in our company. I will maintain the package on my own.

Owner: Stephen Sinclair

* Package name: keras-preprocessing
  Version : 1.0.1
  Upstream Author : Francois Chollet
* URL : http://keras.io/
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : data preprocessing module for the Keras deep learning
framework

Keras is a Python library for machine learning based on deep (multi-
layered) artificial neural networks (DNN), which follows a minimalistic
and modular design with a focus on fast experimentation.

Features of DNNs like neural layers, cost functions, optimizers,
initialization schemes, activation functions and regularization schemes
are available in Keras a standalone modules which can be plugged together
as wanted to create sequence models or more complex architectures.
Keras supports convolutions neural networks (CNN, used for image
recognition resp. classification) and recurrent neural networks (RNN,
suitable for sequence analysis like in natural language processing).

It runs as an abstraction layer on the top of Theano (math expression
compiler) by default, which makes it possible to accelerate the computations
by using (GP)GPU devices. Alternatively, Keras could run on Google's
TensorFlow (not yet available in Debian).

Keras Preprocessing is the data preprocessing and data augmentation
module of the Keras deep learning library. It provides utilities for
working with image data, text data, and sequence data.

This new package is to be a dependency for an updated keras package,
following upstream's splitting of keras-preprocessing into its own
Python module.

Bug#910917: RFA: apache2 -- Apache HTTP Server

2018-11-07 Thread Stefan Fritsch
Hi Jason,

sorry for the late response. I forgot to subscribe to the wnpp report and did
not get your mail.

In this case I would recommend that you get packaging practice with some
simpler packages first. Also, in my opinion, it only makes sense to maintain
if you are actually using apache2 yourself. You could also look for bugs in
packages you use and care about and try to fix those. If you want to look at
bugs in apache2, that's fine, too. Maybe the rc-alert tool in the devscripts
package can help you identify interesting bugs / packages.

Cheers,
Stefan

Bug#910917: RFA: apache2 -- Apache HTTP Server

2018-11-07 Thread Stefan Fritsch
Hi Mosab,

sorry for the late response. I forgot to subscribe to the wnpp report and did

The apache2 package is not the ideal package for beginers, but we will see. It
may still work out well, especially if there are other volunteers that have
more experience in packaging.

I suggest that you start by looking at some bug reports and try to debug /
respond / produce patches. There are probably also some bugs that can be
closed because they concern debian versions that are no longer supported, or
the submitter did not reply to some questions. For a start, if you produce a
patch for a bug, simply send it to the bug or to me. If that works out, I will
give you commit access to the package repository [1] later on.

You should probably also read at least parts of the new maintainer guide [2].

I also hang around on the IRC channel #apache on oftc [3], but response times
may not be fast.

Cheers,
Stefan

I had no idea it was packaged and jboss-annotations is a dupe, I just
followed what Fedora did. I'd need to test replacing it with geronimo.

I request an adopter for the python-adal package.

The package description is:
The ADAL for Python library makes it easy for Python applications to

PC-BASIC is a free, cross-platform interpreter for GW-BASIC, Advanced BASIC

BASIC dialects with a high degree of accuracy, aiming for bug-for-bug
compatibility. PC-BASIC emulates the most common video and audio
hardware on

protected .BAS files. It implements floating-point arithmetic in the
Microsoft

Bug#908787: gpiozero: please provide python module on all architectures

2018-11-07 Thread Jones, Dave
Sorry, this fell off my radar - my clone of the gpio-zero repo (
https://github.com/waveform80/gpio-zero) has some extra branches on it but
all the important bits (for this) are PRd under
https://github.com/RPi-Distro/python-gpiozero/pull/665. However, for some
reason that branch is currently failing the Travis tests - I've got a nasty
feeling I managed to push from the wrong box! I'll try and sort that out
tonight.

Dave.

Upstream Authors: Jonas Ådahl, Red Hat
License : GPL-2+
Programming Lang: C
Homepage: https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/Mutter/RemoteDesktop
Description: Remote desktop daemon for GNOME using PipeWire
This daemon enables GNOME to offer remote desktop sharing using VNC
with PipeWire. It supports both GNOME on X and GNOME on Wayland.
Remote sharing can be enabled and managed in the GNOME Settings app.
 .
This feature will not work on Ubuntu until mutter is recompiled
with the remote desktop option enabled.

Other Info
--
The Debian GNOME team intends to maintain this package.

If testing goes well, we would like to install this package by default
in Debian GNOME for Buster since we currently default to Wayland.
Otherwise, at least it will be available as an option for people using
Buster.

Packaging is at
https://salsa.debian.org/gnome-team/gnome-remote-desktop
