Bug#788327: Swift in Debian

2018-12-27 Thread Jonas Smedegaard
Hi Sylvestre (and others),

Can I perhaps stir back some interest in packaging Swift for Debian?

I have interest in some tools (an RDF triplestore) written in Swift, but
don't expect to be able to maintain the compiler itself...

Description : practical functional library for JavaScript programmers
A library designed specifically for a functional programming style, one
that
makes it easy to create functional pipelines, one that never mutates
user data.

The primary distinguishing features of Ramda are:
  * Ramda takes the function first, and the data last
  * Ramda methods are automatically curried

 Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.

This is a complex module using rollup to build, so not suitable for
embedding.

Bug#917037: No ITP anymore

2018-12-27 Thread Ruben Undheim
Hi,

Since there is only one reverse dependency, I did it in an easier way
(for solving the problem temporarily until #894806 is resolved):

https://tracker.debian.org/news/1014996/accepted-python-zeroconf-0213-1-source-into-unstable/

Therefore closing this ITP as wontfix.

Cheers,
Ruben

Bug#847613: Use code from PPA for initial package

2018-12-27 Thread Daniel Scharon
I'd really love to have this package in buster.
But this means that it must be in testing before 2019-02-12. So not
much time left. The package doesn't have to be in perfect shape by then
but afterwards the soft freeze will be active!

Kind regards,
Dan

Bug#917406: O: elinks -- advanced text-mode WWW browser

2018-12-27 Thread Moritz Muehlenhoff
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I'm orphaning elinks. It's been mostly dead upstream for a while
(although there's a fork at https://github.com/rkd77/felinks which
is seeing some activity) and it's deficits wrt fully-fledged TLS
support make it less and less useful as a web browser (I'm actually
using links2 myself these days).

elinks still has some features not found in other text-based browsers
(like support for rendering the actual colours of an HTML document),
but if noone picks it up, it's probably best to remove it when the
bullseye development cycle starts.

The package description is:
ELinks is a feature-rich program for browsing the web in text mode. It is
like enhanced Lynx and Links. The most noteworthy features of ELinks are:
 .
  * Lots of protocols (local files, finger, HTTP(S), FTP, IPv4/6 etc.)
  * Internationalized domain names
  * Persistent cookies, HTTP authentication and proxy authentication
  * Tabbed browsing, good looking menus and dialogs, and key-binding manager
  * History browsing and typeahead searches
  * Forms history and completion, and history in commonly used input dialogs
  * CSS support and support for browser scripting (Perl, Lua, Guile etc.)
  * Tables and frames rendering, and configurable color support
  * Compressed and background (non-blocking) downloads, and download resuming

Bug#892190: Fwd: Regarding ITP of python-user-agents (Debian)

2018-12-27 Thread Ruben Undheim
Hi Andre,

I accidentally did not see that you already had created an ITP for
python-user-agents (https://bugs.debian.org/892190) and I therefore
created a new one: https://bugs.debian.org/917077

I've already prepared the package here:
https://salsa.debian.org/python-team/modules/python-user-agents

Are you still planning to upload it yourself? If not, should I upload
it with your name in the "Uploaders" list next to mine?

Best regards
Ruben

Oh, it seems that mentors.debian.net (or lintian.debian.org?) have too
old version of lintian installed. Since generally DSA use stable
release, I am not sure, whether it could be fixed before release.

Remember, Lintian, even its last version, could be wrong.

I do not think it worth it. RFA is not end of world, it does not mean
danger of removal. You may wish to subscribe to package via PTS
(pts-subscribe(1)).
