Bug#923034: FreeRADIUS status
We've been looking for a new Debian maintainer for a while. What, exactly, is in "bad shape" about this package? If there are issues, we can work towards fixing them. The software is widely used by many tens of thousands of sites. I hope it's not going to be removed from Debian. I'll note that Debian also packages "livingston-radius", which hasn't had any source changes in 20 years. There's no mailing list, no support, and it doesn't implement any of the modern RADIUS standards. Including that package does a disservice to people who install it, and then realize it's next to useless.

I see that the package is ready in git; are we sure that this patch, which I threw together quickly some years ago, is correct (beyond making the build+test pass)? Bug#923034: O: freeradius -- high-performance and highly configurable RADIUS server
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I am orphaning this package effective immediately. I have never personally used FreeRADIUS, and only stepped in to help when I saw the package was in bad shape. (I will share more details in a later post, but figured I would get this out of the way immediately because freeradius is marked for autoremoval from testing, so if anyone cares, now is the time to step up.)
