Bug#924519: RFA: lsb -- Linux Standard Base init script functionality

2019-03-13 Thread Didier 'OdyX' Raboud
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I request an adopter for the lsb package.

The package description is:
 The Linux Standard Base (http://www.linuxbase.org/) is a standard
 core system that third-party applications written for Linux can
 depend upon.
 .
 This package only includes the init-functions shell library, which
 may be used by other packages' initialization scripts for console
 logging and other purposes.

Over the years, I have first tried bringing LSB support to Debian,
and later winded it down through removing most of the functionality;
which I also in a "Why I (tried to) killed the LSB" DebConf17 talk
[0] (and which should probably get to release notes too).

I have and will keep an eye on src:lsb, to tackle serious issues that
might still arise, but don't want to be a blocker if anyone wants to
work on LSB for Debian, really. (Don't mistake my intentions, I don't
think it's a worthwile goal). So… it seems that a Request for Adoption
is exactly what I'm looking for: conveying that it's up for takers,
but that I'm around for the occasional fixes, and naturally also for
handover!

Join debian-...@lists.debian.org if you're interested!

Cheers,
OdyX

Hi all,

A friend of mine was interested in packaging this, and I would have
helped them. In the meantime, a similar implementation was integrated
upstream into Dovecot. My friend is now using this native feature,
instead of dovecot-trees.

I won't package this personally, accordingly changing the bug
information to reflect the current state.

Cheers,
Georg

The node-globule package needs a new maintainer.

I packaged it initially because it's part of the OpenLayers 3 dependency
chain. Since it won't be possible to complete the OpenLayers 3 packaging
due to the unsolved bundling of small Node.js packages problem, I'm no
longer interested in the OpenLayers 3 dependencies.

The package is maintained within the JavaScript team, it mostly needs a
new uploader.

Bug#924486: ITP: node-nodemailer -- Node.js library to send mails

2019-03-13 Thread Xavier Guimard
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Xavier Guimard

* Package name: node-nodemailer
  Version : 5.1.1
  Upstream Author : Andris Reinman
* URL : https://nodemailer.com/
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Javascript
  Description : Node.js library to send mails

Nodemailer is a module for Node.js applications to allow easy as cake email
sending. The project got started back in 2010 when there was no sane option
to send email messages, today it is the solution most Node.js users turn to
by default.

Nodemailer is the most SMTP client used in Node world (npmjs gives 729.780
weekly downloads and 2746 dependents)
