Bug#926076: This is a dependency of gopasspw

2019-04-01 Thread Balasankar C
Hi,

Both diceware and xkcdpass are Python libraries, while this is a Golang
implementation. It is a member of the dependency tree of gopasspw[0],
and is needed for completing the packaging of gopasspw[1]. gopasspw uses
it as a library, not as an executable, so switching it with either
diceware or xkcdpass is not easy.

Bug#923605: ITP: dhcpoptinj -- DHCP option injector

2019-04-01 Thread Andreas Misje
Jonathan,

If you did take a look or still intend to take a look, here are the
chances I've made since the initial upload:

- Move the project to https://salsa.debian.org/misje-guest/dhcpoptinj
(I'm loving the simple pipeline setup!).
- Add a autopktest that ensures that "dhcpoptinj --version" outputs
upstream version matching package version.
- Change Standards-Version to 4.3.0 and debhelper-compat to 12.
- Remove the incorrect multi arch lines from control.
- Make the Vcs-Git URI canonical.

Best regards

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the pdf2htmlex package.

The package description is:
pdf2htmlEX converts PDF to HTML while retaining text, format and style as much
as possible by making use of HTML5, JavaScript and modern CSS features.
Even difficult content like PDFs with embedded fonts, multicolumn documents,
scientific papers with complicated figures and mathematical formulas will
mostly be represented correctly. Fallback mode generates HTML pages which
do not require any JavaScript to view them correctly at the expense of a
 larger file size.

Upstream has been looking for a new maintainer for nearly two years now:

http://pdf2htmlex.blogspot.com/2016/12/looking-for-new-maintainer.html

An upstream bug indicates that nobody new has been found:

https://github.com/coolwanglu/pdf2htmlEX/issues/726

The last commit by upstream was Dec 11, 2016:

https://github.com/coolwanglu/pdf2htmlEX/commits/master

But the package suffers from two RC bugs:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=883525

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=878598

Fixing these problems requires a deep understanding of the software
which I do not have nor the time to acquire it.

I'm thus orphaning the package in the hopes that somebody else picks up
the pieces.

Thanks!

cheers, josch

Wayland is a protocol for a compositor to talk to its clients as well

of 3D objects and point clouds based on VTK and numpy.

Intuitive and straightforward API which can be combined with VTK seamlessly in
a program, whilst mantaining access to the full range of VTK native classes.

It includes a large set of working examples for the all following
functionalities:

* Import meshes from VTK format, STL, Wavefront OBJ, 3DS, XML, Neutral, GMSH,
OFF, PCD (PointCloud), volumetric TIFF stacks, SLC, MHD, 2D images PNG, JPEG.
* Export meshes as ASCII or binary to VTK, STL, OBJ, PLY formats.
* Mesh analysis through the built-in methods of VTK package. Additional
analysis tools like Moving Least Squares, mesh morphing.
* Tools to visualize and edit meshes (cutting a mesh with another mesh,
slicing, normalizing, moving vertex positions, etc..). Interactive cutter
widget.
* Split mesh based on surface connectivity. Extract the largest connected
area.
* Calculate mass properties, like area, volume, center of mass, average size
etc.
* Calculate vertex and face normals, curvatures, feature edges. Fill mesh
holes.
* Subdivide faces of a mesh, increasing the number of vertex points. Mesh
simplification.
* Coloring and thresholding of meshes based on associated scalar or vectorial
data.
* Point-surface operations: find nearest points, determine if a point lies
inside or outside a mesh.
* Create primitive objects like: spheres, arrows, cubes, torus, ellipsoids...
* Generate glyphs (associating a mesh to each vertex of a source mesh).
* Create animations easily by just defining the position of the displayed
objects in the 3D scene. Add trailing lines to moving objects automatically.
* Straightforward support for multiple sync-ed or independent renderers in
the same window.
* Registration (alignment) of meshes with different techniques.
* Mesh smoothing with Laplacian and WindowedSinc algorithms.
*   Delaunay triangulation in 2D and 3D.
* Generate meshes by joining nearby lines in space.
* Find the closest path from one point to another, travelling along the edges
of a mesh.
* Find the intersection of a mesh with a line (or with another mesh).
*   Analysis of Point Clouds:
- Moving Least Squares smoothing of 2D, 3D and 4D clouds
- Fit lines, planes and spheres in space
- Perform PCA (Principal Component Analysis) on point coordinates
- Identify outliers in a distribution of points
- Decimate a cloud to a uniform distribution.
* Basic histogramming and function plotting in 1D and 2D.
* Interpolate scalar and vectorial fields with Radial Basis Functions and
Thin Plate Splines.
*   Analysis of volumetric datasets:
- Isosurfacing of volumes
- Direct maximum projection rendering
- Generate volumetric signed-distance data from an input surface mesh
- Probe a volume with lines and planes.
* Add sliders and buttons to interact with the scene and the individual
objects.
* Examples using SHTools package for spherical harmonics expansion of a mesh
shape.
* Integration with the Qt5 framework.
*   Support for FEniCS/dolfin package.

Bug#926201: ITP: qtmips -- MIPS CPU simulator for education purposes with pipeline and cache visualization.

2019-04-01 Thread Pavel Pisa
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Pavel Pisa

* Package name: qtmips
  Version : 0.6.8

  Programming Lang: C++
Description : MIPS CPU simulator for education purposes with pipeline and
cache visualization.

The project has started as diploma theses work of Karel Koci.
The complete text of the thesis Graphical CPU Simulator
with Cache Visualization is available from the online
archive of the Czech Technical University in Prague.

https://dspace.cvut.cz/bitstream/handle/10467/76764/F3-DP-2018-Koci-Karel-diploma.pdf

The document provides analysis of available alternative simulators,
overview of the project architecture and basic usage information.

The used MIPS CPU building block diagram, and a pipeline model matches
lecture slides prepared by Michal Stepanovsky for the subject Computer
Architectures. The course is based on the book Computer Organization
and Design, The HW/SW Interface written by professors Paterson
and Henessy.

Reasons to package

 - We have not found appropriate tool for teaching of CPU pipeline
and cache basis. There are expensive professional tools which work
on real CPUs RTL level and many tools to provide approximation
computations of the cache performance etc. We have used MipsIt
   emulator

https://www.eit.lth.se/fileadmin/eit/courses/eit090/MipsIt/MipsITEnvRef.html
in the past but it is Windows only and dated. SPIM
is widely used but it provides no pipeline and extension
is almost impossible because it interprets instructions
directly. MARS is even better with IDE ideal for education
but again its internals are centered about software
   instructions emulation. QtMips decodes instructions
to set of signals which are propagated through pipeline
stages similar way as on real hardware. Result is quite
low speed with huge graphics overhead but with internal
state visualization. On the other hand it is much faster
then complete chip with RTL simulation.

 - The QtMips simulator is used in the course for 350 students
now and even other faculty expressed interest to use it.
It can be quite useful for many universities and it
matches well the classic and widely used book for the subject.

 - I have led the diploma thesis and I have done substantial
enhancements in the past months to make emulator fit needs
of our seminaries. I have intent to mantain the package
as time allows. The backup person is Karel Koci - initial
   project author.

 - Project is already built in Ubuntu launchapd
 https://launchpad.net/qtmips
   and Suse Open Build Service
 https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:ppisa/qtmips

Bug#908765: seems like this already exists

2019-04-01 Thread Jeffrey Cliff
in package ~/node-babel-6.26.0+dfsg/packages/
there's already a node-babel-preset-es2016
node5 seems to be specifically for nodejs v5 which is a few versions ago
i'm thinking this may not be necessary after all
