Bug#982335: RFP: gamehub -- unified library for games from multiple sources

2021-02-08 Thread Phil Morrell
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: gamehub
  Version : 0.16.0
  Upstream Author : Anatoliy Kashkin
* URL : https://tkashkin.tk/projects/gamehub/
* License : GPL-3.0
  Programming Lang: Vala
Description : unified library for games from multiple sources

GameHub is a unified library for all your games. It allows you to store
your games from different platforms into one program to make it easier
for you to manage your games. With GameHub, you can:

* store your games in one place
* login to multiple platforms
* install games from the supported sources
* download game installers, DLCs and bonus content
* automatically find artwork for games on SteamGridDB
* setup emulators and automatically import emulated games
* Overlays — multiple directories applied on top of each other to manage DLCs
and mods
* Tweaks — environment variable and command line overrides
* multiple compatibility layers: Wine, Proton, DOSBox, RetroArch, ScummVM,
WineWrap
* multiple game platforms: Steam, GOG, Humble Bundle, itch.io

---

Somewhat similar to lutris, but through its use of https://www.igdb.com/
is able to merge different sources into a single entry. It allows the
management of custom tags for filters making it more of a library
manager rather like calibre rather than just a package manager.

Games Team managed, just like all the other helper tools available.

Ohai,

I request an adopter for the gtkperf package.

The package description is:
GtkPerf is an application designed to test GTK+ performance.
The point is to create common testing platform to run predefined
GTK+ widgets (opening comboboxes, toggling buttons, scrolling text)
and this way define the speed of device/platform.

The package is in reasonable shape, but did not see an upload since 2009.
Upstream is not active anymore either (last release 2005).

Hi,

as announced last week, I'd like to find a new maintainer for
libopenusb.

The package description is:
The Open USB library provides a platform independent API to USB, including
synchronous and asynchronous transfers and thread safety.

The package is a mostly standard library package with a fairly inactive
upstream. The thread safety bit is sort of an exaggeration, as there is
a race condition somewhere, so be prepared to handle a bit of C
debugging.

The package needs minor fixes. I'm willing to sponsor uploads if
required. There have not been any updates of the upstream software in years.

Only 15 people have reportedly installed the package. So if nobody is
willing to adopt this package I will consider having it removed from Debian.

I intend to orphan the python-kaitaistruct package.

The package description is:
This library implements Kaitai Struct API for Python.
 .
Kaitai Struct is a declarative language used for describe various
binary data structures, laid out in files or in memory: i.e. binary
file formats, network stream packet formats, etc.
 .
It is similar to Python's construct and Construct3, but it is
language-agnostic. The format description is done in YAML-based .ksy
format, which then can be compiled into a wide range of target
 languages.

Bug#982198: ITP: mssql-cli -- CLI for Microsoft SQL Server

2021-02-08 Thread Daniel Baumann
close 982198
thanks

Hi,

mssql-cli is a wrapper around the binary-only mssql-client from MS,
which is huge in size and not redistributable license-wise, making the
whole thing a major PITA.

Since I do have a use case for it, unfortunately; and I thought it would
be nice to have it from debian proper rather than some upstream apt repo
I opened the ITP.. but now having looked at it, it's not worthwile to
spend time on, hence closing the bug again.

Regards,
Daniel
