Bug#988691: RFP: python-comment-parser -- extract comments from source code (Python)

2021-05-17 Thread Vagrant Cascadian
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-pyt...@lists.debian.org, vagr...@debian.org

* Package name: python-comment-parser
  Version : 1.2.3
  Upstream Author : Jean-Ralph Aviles
* URL or Web page : https://github.com/jeanralphaviles/comment_parser
* License : Expat
  Description : extract comments from source code (Python)

 This Python module can be used to extract comments from source code in
 various languages. Supported languages include: C, C++/C#, Go, HTML,
 Java, Javascript, Python, Ruby, Shell, and XML.

I've made a quick packaging attempt that will soon be available at:

  https://salsa.debian.org/vagrant/python-comment-parser

I do not have a lot of experience packaging python modules, so if
someone with more experience and enthusiam for python packaging would
like to take this on, that would be great, as I don't forsee uploading
this to Debian myself; I'm packaging this for my own use at the moment,
but if I need to use it more maybe I'll take a more active interest...

live well,

Freeze package: Audacity (privacy issue)

2021-05-17 Thread atmm
I would recommend freezing packages on the latest version of audacity or
straight up removing Google and Yandex analytics from their code before
compiling the package. As you may know already Audacity was bought up by
Musescore and they have being making a lot of unwanted changes to the software
lately. The analytics they can be de-anonymized when they have access to your
machine

It looks like we already have the 7-Zip unrar code split on its own
source package in non-free (p7zip-rar). Have you contacted the p7zip
maintainer (CCed) to check what might be blocking updating the packages
to a newer upstream version, instead of duplicating them? Perhaps you
could collaborate on that instead?

Thanks,
Guillem

Bug#988690: ITP: xpore -- Nanopore analysis of differential RNA modifications

2021-05-17 Thread Steffen Möller
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name    : xpore
  Version : 1.0
  Upstream Author : Ploy N. Pratanwanich
* URL : https://github.com/GoekeLab/xpore/
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : Nanopore analysis of differential RNA modifications
 RNA is transcribed from DNA, possibly spliced and exported to the
 cytoplasm - fine - but its bases can also be modified, edited, and
 not all such modifications are visible by Sanger sequencing methods
 and its derivatives.
 .
 The Nanopore measures potentials, and if the bases have a different
 shape then this is measured - not necessarily in an interpretable manner,
 something must be left for mass spectrometry, but one may be pointed
 to a difference. And maybe one can even statistically associate such
 differences with a molecular or clinical phenotype.

Remark: This package is maintained at

Bug#988689: ITP: 7zip -- 7-Zip file archiver

2021-05-17 Thread YOKOTA Hiroshi
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: YOKOTA Hiroshi
X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-de...@lists.debian.org, yokota.h...@gmail.com

* Package name: 7zip
  Version : 21.02
  Upstream Author : Igor Pavlov
* URL : https://www.7-zip.org/
* License : LGPL with "unRAR license restriction" (
https://www.7-zip.org/license.txt )
  Programming Lang: C, C++, Asm
  Description : 7-Zip file archiver

7-Zip is a file archiver with a high compression ratio.

The main features of 7-Zip

 * High compression ratio in 7z format with LZMA and LZMA2 compression
 * Supported formats:
 * Packing / unpacking: 7z, XZ, BZIP2, GZIP, TAR, ZIP and WIM
 * Unpacking only: AR, ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, CramFS, DMG, EXT, FAT, GPT,
   HFS, IHEX, ISO, LZH, LZMA, MBR, MSI, NSIS, NTFS, QCOW2, RAR, RPM,
   SquashFS, UDF, UEFI, VDI, VHD, VMDK, WIM, XAR and Z.
 * For ZIP and GZIP formats, 7-Zip provides a compression ratio that is
   2-10 % better than the ratio provided by PKZip and WinZip
 * Strong AES-256 encryption in 7z and ZIP formats
 * Powerful command line version

note: "p7zip-full" package provides full-featured, but older 7-Zip archiver.
  This "7zip" package provides stand-alone style archiver only, but
  newer 7-Zip archiver.
  "7zip" package is in "non-free" section because "unRAR" code is not
  compatible with DFSG.

Current packaging state is held on https://salsa.debian.org/yokota/7zip .

aiozipkin is Python 3.6+ module that adds distributed tracing capabilities

zipkin_ is a distributed tracing system. It helps gather timing data needed
to troubleshoot latency problems in microservice architectures. It manages
both the collection and lookup of this data. Zipkin’s design is based on
the Google Dapper paper.

Applications are instrumented with aiozipkin report timing data to zipkin.
The Zipkin UI also presents a Dependency diagram showing how many traced
requests went through each application. If you are troubleshooting latency
problems or errors, you can filter or sort all traces based on the
application, length of trace, annotation, or timestamp.

I also work on Devuan and already have seatd packaged there[1]. I have just
updated it to version 0.5.0. I was planning on uploading to Debian once Bullseye
is released.

Do take a look. Any comments would be welcome. I would expect the Devuan
packages[2] to install cleanly in sid.

2021-05-17 Thread Henry-Nicolas Tourneur
Hello Mark,

libseat will become a dependency for wlroots as of version 0.14.0 of the latter.
Would you need any help working on this package?

It could fit well within the sway-team group.
I am reachable on Matrix and IRC should you want to discuss this further
(details in signature).

Best regards,

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I request assistance with maintaining the broadcom-sta package.

I don't have permanent access to related hardware nor do I use similar
devices regularly, so my detector for all new breakages (mostly
kernel change related) has been non-functional for months, causing nasty
delays in support coverage.

Fortunatelly, the package has apparently still lots of active users who
come along with usable patches (but sometimes also with weird ones,
therefore having strong C language knowledge and some kernel
infrastructure knowledge is advisable).

The package description is:
 Broadcom STA is a binary-only device driver to support the following IEEE
 802.11a/b/g/n wireless network cards: BCM4311-, BCM4312-, BCM4313-,
 BCM4321-, BCM4322-, BCM43142-, BCM43224-, BCM43225-, BCM43227-, BCM43228-,
 BCM4331-, BCM4360-, and BCM4352-based hardware.
 .
 This package contains the common files and it should not be installed manually
 (it will be installed automatically as needed).

MfG/best regards,
Eduard.

Let me close this RFH ticket, since there's no critical bug remaining
for this package so far.

* Package name: gps-share

* URL : https://github.com/zeenix/gps-share
* License : GPL-2.0+
  Programming Lang: Rust
  Description : Utility to share your GPS device on local network.

gps-share has the following goals:

- Share your GPS device on the local network so that all machines in your home
  or office can make use of it.
- Enable support for standalone (i-e not part of a cellular modem) GPS devices
in Geoclue.
  Since Geoclue has been able to make use of network NMEA sources since 2015,
  gps-share works out of the box with Geoclue.
- Enable multiple applications to share the GPS stream on the same machine.

This package will be maintained within the Rust Team.
This is a binary crate.

Bug#988658: RFP: python3-pyupgrade -- Automatically upgrade syntax for newer versions of the Python language

2021-05-17 Thread Raphael Hertzog
Package: wnpp

* Package name: python3-pyupgrade
  Version : 2.16.0
  Upstream Author : Anthony Sottile
* URL : https://github.com/asottile/pyupgrade
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : Automatically upgrade syntax for newer versions of the

This helper script can help you normalize your Python source code
by rewriting parts of your code to use the latest syntax improvements.

Some examples from the README:

set([])  # set()

'{0} {1}'.format(1, 2)# '{} {}'.format(1, 2)

x is 5  # x == 5

'{foo} {bar}'.format(foo=foo, bar=bar)  # f'{foo} {bar}'

I discovered this tool by reading some documentation and I'd like
it to be available in Debian so that I can try it and use it :-)

ccing debian-pyt...@lists.debian.org in the hope to catch the attention of
someone with more time than me.

Thank you!
