Bug#997798: ITP: dedalus -- Dedalus is a framework for solving PDEs useful for astrophysical and geophysical fluid dynamics
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Mac Lee X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-de...@lists.debian.org * Package name: dedalus Version : 2.2006 Upstream Author : Keaton Burns * URL : http://dedalus-project.org * License : GPL-3 Programming Lang: Python Description : Dedalus is a framework for solving PDEs useful for astrophysical and geophysical fluid dynamics Dedalus is a flexible framework for solving partial differential equations using spectral methods. The code is open-source and developed by a team of researchers studying astrophysical and geophysical fluid dynamics. Dedalus is written primarily in Python and features an easy-to-use interface with symbolic equation entry. Our numerical algorithm produces sparse systems for a wide variety of equations and spectrally-discretized domains. These systems are efficiently solved using compiled libraries and are automatically parallelized using MPI. This package is useful because it is commonly used by researchers in astrophysical and geophysical fields. I happen to be one of those researchers using the package. I am not aware of another package that provides similar functionalities already in Debian. I plan to maintain the package as part of the Python team and I am looking for a sponsor since this is my very first Debian package.

That's due to the fact that SMB1 is required for Computer Browser service to function. Newer Windows systems can use WSD (Web Services for Devices) to discover shares hosted on other Windows computers while Linux systems normally utilize mNDS/DNS-SD for service discovery. Microsoft is moving to support mDNS/DNS-SD, but not yet there. The primary purpose of this project is to enable WSD on OpenMediaVault so that network shares hosted on a OMV4 box can appear in Windows File Explorer / Network. Bug#947063: ITP: pass-import -- Pass extension for importing ata from existing password managers
Control: retitle -1 ITP: pass-import -- Pass extension for importing ata from existing password managers Dear Hans-Christoph, Hans-Christoph Steiner wrote in December 2019: > * Package name: pass-import > Version : 2.6 > Upstream Author : Alexandre Pujol > * URL : https://github.com/roddhjav/pass-import > * License : GPLv3 > Programming Lang: Python > Package source : > https://salsa.debian.org/alexander.tolios-guest/pass-import > Description: > Pass extension for importing data from existing password managers Any news on this? The Salsa repository seems to be a bit behind upstream with regards to upstream releases: The packaging is still at 2.6 (released June 2019) while upstream is at 3.2, released half a year ago in May 2021. I think seeing this tool in Debian would be a real benefit as the pass eco-system seems to really gain in importance and popularity. P.S.: I allowed myself to fix the ITP title as Kunal Mehta already suggested.
