too and that should be enough for wlgreet I think.

I am not aware the the author or packager or any user of gender-guesser
would *override* explicitly stated identity annotations.

What makes sense to me is to apply a tool like gender-guesser *after*
asking for explicit annotation and then apply guessing only when the
speaker (or whoever was involved) answered "Don't care" (which I would
find sensible to place as default answer).


My point being that I see a use-case for this library that is respectful
- am I missing something and the existance of such tool is *always*
  painful for some?

(sure, it *can* be painful is used wrongly or sloppily, as is the case
with any tool - so I think the more relevant question is if it *always*
is painful for some).

Moving the binaries from /usr/sbin to /usr/bin indeed made it work.

Issue 3: /etc/greetd/config.toml says:

# if using wlgreet
#command = "sway --config /etc/greetd/sway-config"

But there is no /etc/greetd/sway-config in the package.

removing ~/.cargo let me build enquote and now I tested your greetd package.

Issue 1: your choice of _greetd lets my postinst fail because my NAME_REGEX in
/etc/adduser.conf is "^[a-z][-a-z0-9_]*\$"

Issue 2: after installing it, I get a black screen printing "/bin/sh: 1: exec:
agreety: not found" -- maybe this is because the user "greeter" doesn't have
/usr/sbin/ in their PATH?
