Hm, interesting … Let's have a look:

https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=libdevice-i2c-perl

Indeed we only have amd64, arm64, and i386 so far.
But the other architectures are in "Needs-Build" state (and not in
any state showing a build failure or some other issue), so yes, I
think we have to be patient.

(I don't know why this takes so long this time … Maybe the buildds
are too busy with the ongoing python 3.11 transition but that's just
a wild guess.)

Should be.

  Programming Lang: Rust
Description : IP-over-HTTP client and server

Hippotat is a system to allow you to use your normal VPN, ssh, and
other applications, even in broken network environments that are only
 ever tested with “web stuff”.
 .
Packets are parcelled up into HTTP POST requests, resembling form
submissions (or JavaScript XMLHttpRequest traffic), and the returned
packets arrive via the HTTP response bodies.

The upstream source tree already contains Debian packaging
information, not generated by debcargo, and a Makefile. It's not a
"vanilla" Rust package using just cargo.

My current plans are:

I will use the upstream build system and Debianisation, and maintain
this as a native package.

I will make some changes to the upstream source (with my upstream hat
on) to eliminate the dependencies that aren't currently in testing.

I will edit the upstream Cargo.toml will be edited to have ranges for the
dependencies, so that the same source tree can build with packages
from crates.io and ones from Debian.

I don't currently plan to make the Debian Rust Team the Maintainer,
but I would be happy to do so if the team would like that.

Bug#1026775: ITP: libdevice-i2c-perl -- Control and read hardware devices with I2C (SMBus)

2023-01-05 Thread Thomas Uhle

Hello Gregor,

sorry for still having another question. I just wanted to try the
"official" binary build, but these just happen to exist for the x86/x86_64
architectures at this moment (next to unofficial builds). Especially the
builds for the ARM architectures are missing. Do you know why? Do I just
have to wait for them a little longer and be patient?

So I have downloaded the sources from Debian today and have built
libdevice-i2c-perl locally on my Odroid SBC which is working. I guess
this binary package would be equal to an "official" build.

Cheers,

Thomas

The reference manual for GLE. Written in LaTeX. Requires LaTeX, perl, and GLE
for
building. This manual comes bundled with the GLE distribution. However, it may
get
updated prior to the next release. This repo makes it available separately for
users
to modify and/or update outside of the GLE release schedule.

This package used to be included in GLE (debian package gle-graphics), but
is now kept in a separate repository. I ITP gle-graphics-manual under the

Description-en: command-line tools for building TCP client-server applications
tcpserver waits for incoming connections and, for each connection, runs a
program of your choice. Your program receives environment variables showing
the local and remote host names, IP addresses, and port numbers.
 .
tcpserver offers a concurrency limit to protect you from running out of
processes and memory. When you are handling 40 (by default) simultaneous
connections, tcpserver smoothly defers acceptance of new connections.
 .
tcpserver also provides TCP access control features, similar to
tcp-wrappers/tcpd's hosts.allow but much faster. Its access control rules
are compiled into a hashed format with cdb, so it can easily deal with
 thousands of different hosts.
 .
This package includes a recordio tool that monitors all the input and output
 of a server.
 .
tcpclient makes a TCP connection and runs a program of your choice. It sets
up the same environment variables as tcpserver.
 .
This package includes several sample clients built on top of tcpclient:
 who@, date@, finger@, http@, tcpcat, and mconnect.
 .
tcpserver and tcpclient conform to UCSPI, the UNIX Client-Server Program
Interface, using the TCP protocol. UCSPI tools are
 available for several different networks.

Bug#1027976: ITP: libcpucycles -- Microlibrary for counting CPU cycles

2023-01-05 Thread Nick Black (Public gmail account)
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: nick black
X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-de...@lists.debian.org, dankamong...@gmail.com

* Package name: libcpucycles
  Version : 20230105
  Upstream Contact: Daniel J. Bernstein
* URL : https://cpucycles.cr.yp.to/download.html
* License : Public domain
  Programming Lang: C
Description : Microlibrary for counting CPU cycles

libcpucycles understands machine-level cycle counters for amd64 (both PMC and
TSC), arm32, arm64 (both PMC and VCT), mips64, ppc32, ppc64, riscv32, riscv64,
sparc64, and x86. libcpucycles also understands four OS-level mechanisms, which
give varying levels of accuracy: mach_absolute_time, perf_event,
CLOCK_MONOTONIC, and, as a fallback, microsecond-resolution gettimeofday.

When the program first calls cpucycles(), libcpucycles automatically benchmarks
the available mechanisms and selects the mechanism that does the best job.
Subsequent cpucycles() calls are thread-safe and very fast. An accompanying
cpucycles-info program prints a summary of cycle-counter accuracy.
