Bug#1032236: ITP: netatalk2 -- File server for Macintosh and Apple II clients
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Daniel Markstedt X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-de...@lists.debian.org, markst...@gmail.com * Package name: netatalk2 Version : 2.2.8 Upstream Author : The Netatalk Team * URL : https://netatalk.sourceforge.io * License : GPL 2.0 Programming Lang: C Description : File server for Macintosh and Apple II clients Netatalk 2 is a file server for Macintosh and Apple II clients which implements the Apple Filing Protocol (AFP) with support for TCP (DSI) and AppleTalk (DDP) networking layers. It also supplies a PAP compliant printer server (papd), a time server (timelord), and an Apple II netboot server (a2boot). In addition, a suite of tools for classic Mac file formats, AppleTalk networking, and PostScript printing is included. Unlike Netatalk 3, it retains the AppleTalk network layer, which allows it to server as a bridge between older Mac and Apple II clients, with the latest macOS clients. I intend to leverage the existing pkg-netatalk-devel team for maintaining the package, including volunteering my own effort.

Bug#1032191: ITP: django-compression-middleware -- Django middleware to compress responses using several algorithms
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Edward Betts X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-de...@lists.debian.org, debian-pyt...@lists.debian.org * Package name: django-compression-middleware Version : 0.4.2 Upstream Author : Friedel Wolff * URL : https://github.com/friedelwolff/django-compression-middleware * License : MPL-2.0 Programming Lang: Python Description : Django middleware to compress responses using several algorithms This middleware implements compressed content encoding for HTTP. It is similar to Django's GZipMiddleware, but additionally supports other compression methods. It is meant to be a drop-in replacement for Django's GZipMiddleware. The middleware is focussed on the task of compressing typical Django responses such as HTML, JSON, etc. Both normal (bulk) and streaming responses are supported. For static file compression, have a look at other projects such as WhiteNoise. Zstandard is a new method for compression with little client support so far. Most browsers now support Brotli compression. The middleware will choose the best compression method supported by the client as indicated in the request's Accept-Encoding header. I plan to maintain this package as part of the Python team.

Your message dated Wed, 01 Mar 2023 12:41:02 +0100 with message-id <4513580.YA3njiJYup@debian> and subject line Close ITP & RFS for synkron has caused the Debian Bug report #1004209, regarding ITP: synkron -- Qt based application for synchronising folders to be marked as done. You can easily sync your documents, music or pictures to have their latest versions everywhere. Synkron provides an easy-to-use interface and a lot of features. Moreover, it is free and cross-platform. We need the revision 200 from upstream because it includes the port to Qt5. 1.6.2 is Qt4 only. - why is this package useful/relevant? I haven't found an equivalent app on Qt/KDE - is it a dependency for another package? No - do you use it? Yes, I've been using it for a few years on Debian with a personal package - how do you plan to maintain it? inside a packaging team (check list at https://wiki.debian.org/Teams)? are you looking for co-maintainers? do you need a sponsor? The app wasn't updated for years now... I someone ports to Qt6 when the time comes, I could update the debian package. This package could be part of the Qt/KDE team and could be also maintained by the team or anyone else. --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Closing ITP & RFS for synkron. There is now freefilesync in the archive which makes a similar job and is actively maintainted upstream. https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/freefilesync While synkron is not in the archive, debian source package is availble in this repo on salsa https://salsa.debian.org/bastif/synkron--- End Message ---
