You should probably try to ping bage and ask them to have a look at your RFS
once more. Software written in Zig keeps popping up, for example, wayprompt.

I updated the package to Zig 0.10.1. The RFS bug still still open.

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1012286

I'll likely not even try packaging 0.11 or newer until it can once again
bootstrap. However I don't expect that to happen anytime soon.

Bug#1061167: RFP: spitbol -- SPITBOL is an extremely high performance implementation of the SNOBOL4 language

2024-01-19 Thread John Hasler
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: spitbol
  Version : V4.0f (Jan 2024)
  Upstream Contact: Cheyenne Wills
* URL : https://github.com/spitbol/x64
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C, assembler
  Description : SPITBOL is an extremely high performance implementation of
the SNOBOL4 language

   With the SNOBOL4 language, you can manipulate text and search for
patterns
   in a simple and natural manner. SNOBOL4 is a completely general
   programming language, and its magic extends far beyond the world of
   text processing. Concise and powerful programs are easy to write. In
   addition, SNOBOL4's pattern programming provides a new way to work
   with computers.

   For information about differences between SNOBOL4, SNOBOL4+, and
   Spitbol (and differences between various Spitbol implementations)
   please refer to the Macro SPITBOL manual.

The original manual:
http://www.snobol4.com/spitbol360/spitbol_360_manual.pdf

This classic powerful text processing language belongs in Debian.

I do not intend to maintain it. I might be able to provide some limited
assistance.

gst-plugin-gtk4 has landed in debian; gst-plugin-gif is being prepared.
I have not yet enabled the build of the library (as of now this is just
the rust code shipped as package); can you shed some light on this? As
far as I understand those can then be dynamically loaded by gstreamer ?
Today I just realized that they work as plugins.

Enabling them  *should* be trivial; it's just another trip through new.

I request an adopter for the pypdf2 package.

The package description is:
 A Pure-Python library built as a PDF toolkit. It is capable of:
   - extracting document information (title, author, ...),
   - splitting documents page by page,
   - merging documents page by page,
   - cropping pages,
   - merging multiple pages into a single page,
   - encrypting and decrypting PDF files.
 .
 By being Pure-Python, it should run on any Python platform without any
 dependencies on external libraries. It can also work entirely on StringIO
 objects rather than file streams, allowing for PDF manipulation in memory.
 It is therefore a useful tool for websites that manage or manipulate PDFs.
 .
 This is the Python 3 version of the package.

Bug#1061158: ITP: discord-rpc -- library for Discord Rich Presence integration

2024-01-19 Thread Mathias Gibbens
Hi David,

  I would be willing to review and sponsor this package when it's
ready. Feel free to ping me directly (no need to open a RFS bug.)

  openrct2 can use this library for Discord integration, but that is
currently disabled in the Debian builds. I haven't tried to package
this library because I'm not really a Discord user, and the library
itself is deprecated in favor of Discord's GameSDK. However, as there
are now two concrete cases where this would be useful in Debian (Citra
and openrct2), if you're willing to do the work, I will help by
sponsoring the upload.

Mathias

  Programming Lang: C, C++, CMake, Python
  Description : library for Discord Rich Presence integration

This is a library for integrating Discord features into games and
applications. For example, it allows an application to connect to Discord and
show in-game activity on a user's profile.

It is also a Citra dependency. There are multiple FOSS projects
aside from Citra that also integrate this library and could make use of this
package if they were ever packaged themselves (e.g. Duckstation, PCSX2 etc.).

I would be maintaining this package myself, but would need a sponsor.

* Package name: relic
  Version : 7.6.1-1
  Upstream Author : SAS Institute, Inc.
* URL : https://github.com/sassoftware/relic
* License : Apache-2.0
  Programming Lang: Go
  Description : digitally sign Linux/Java/Windows packages

 relic is a multi-tool and server for package signing and working with
 hardware security modules (HSMs).
 .
 Package types
 .
  * RPM - RedHat packages
  * DEB - Debian packages
  * JAR - Java archives
  * EXE (PE/COFF) - Windows executable
  * MSI - Windows installer
  * appx, appxbundle - Windows universal application
  * CAB - Windows cabinet file
  * CAT - Windows security catalog
  * XAP - Silverlight and legacy Windows Phone applications
  * PS1, PS1XML, MOF, etc. - Microsoft Powershell scripts and modules
  * manifest, application - Microsoft ClickOnce manifest
  * VSIX - Visual Studio extension
  * Mach-O - macOS/iOS signed executables
  * DMG, PKG - macOS disk images / installer packages
  * APK - Android package
  * PGP - inline, detached or cleartext signature of data
 .
 Token types
 .
 relic can work with several types of token:
 .
  * pkcs11 - Industry standard PKCS#11 HSM interface using shared object
files
  * Cloud services - AWS, Azure and Google Cloud managed keys
  * scdaemon - The GnuPG scdaemon service can enable access to OpenPGP
cards (such as Yubikey NEO)
  * file - Private keys stored in a password-protected file
 .
 Features
 .
 Relic is primarily meant to operate as a signing server, allowing
 clients to authenticate with a TLS certificate and sign packages
 remotely. It can also be used as a standalone signing tool.
 .
 Other features include:
 .
  * Generating and importing keys in the token
  * Importing certificate chains from a PKCS#12 file
  * Creating X509 certificate signing requests (CSR) and self-signed
certificates
  * Limited X509 CA support -- signing CSRs and cross-signing certificates
  * Creating simple PGP public keys
  * RSA and ECDSA supported for all signature types
  * Verify signatures, certificate chains and timestamps on all supported
package types
  * Sending audit logs to an AMQP broker, with an optional sealing
signature
  * Save token PINs in the system keyring
 .
 Linux, Windows and MacOS are supported. Other platforms probably work as
 well.
 .
 relic is tested using libsofthsm2 and Gemalto SafeNet Network HSM (Luna
 SA).

Bug#921150: RFS: golang-github-arduino-go-paths-helper [ITP]

2024-01-19 Thread Nicolas Peugnet

Hi Nilesh,

Thank you for you offer. I'm sorry, I completely forgot about this bugs.
I wanted these libraries (#921150 and #922528) to be uploaded in order
to package the latest 'arduino-builder'. However, we finally decided to
keep the current version since 'arduino-builder' will be superseded by
'arduino-cli' in the near future anyway.

I would not close the ITPs nor remove the work from Salsa since I suspect
they will be necessary for 'arduino-cli' though I haven't looked into
this yet. I guess the RFS (#934515) could be closed as "wontfix" and/or
tagged as "bullseye-ignore" and simply left open for later. I'm easy.

Hi,

I would be very interested by the addition of 'arduino-cli' to the
Debian repository. Indeed, the now deprecated 'arduino-builder' does not
support newer Arduino boards like the Nano 33 family and I suspect more
of them.

It seems the 'arduino-cli' package is nearing a 1.0.0 stable release,
and it is already a very capable tool, so it might be interesting to
start packaging its dependencies.

I don't think I will be able to help packaging, but I could help testing
packages for sure.
