Bug#712938: Qt4 to be patched
Hi, Will also sni-qt appear in debian repos? On Sun, 02 Aug 2015 14:26:01 -0300 Lisandro =?ISO-8859-1?Q?Dami=E1n_Nicanor_P=E9rez?= Meyer perezme...@gmail.com wrote: A Qt upstream developer blessed the patched as unofficial but ok, and I have heard that a new version of sni-qt will happen soon. Also Felix has standed up for maintaining sni-qt (thanks a lot!), so all the barriers for this to happen are now inexistent. I'll patch qt4 and provide (somehow) an unnoficial build against gcc4.9 in order to make it ready for testing. It will enter unstable as soon as a qt4 upload becomes mandatory for the gcc5 transition to happen or after it. So, if anybody interested, this is patched libqtgui i386: https://mega.nz/#!rUEzCBiB!-83j59IHbhhWgTZsxE4AK55BppZ85vOf2TsyvJOIKI8 Confirmed to be working on recent KDE from Sid, most likely it will fix qt4 issues with other desktop environemts. Skype shows taskbar icon without any problems. Obviously, you will also need to install sni-qt:i386. Bug#712938: sni-qt -- Indicator support for Qt
Thanks for you solution, I previously tried official way as described in debian documentation and totally failed. Now almost there compilation success (with patch applied), but it refuses to build package, with error message: dpkg-shlibdeps: error: no dependency information found for /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 (used by debian/libqt4-opengl/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQtOpenGL.so.4.8.7) I did quick google search about this error, but still can't figure it out. Any ideas how to fix this? P.S. I can compile pretty fast, less than 30 minutes on i7 cpu and SSD disk. If anybody can show my right direction, I can build both 32 and 64 bits debs. I don't fully understand the problem - dependencies for compilation are ok, but for building package - does not? 32-bit is far less important, because on 64-bit system it's needed for skype only (at least for me). All other apps used as daily driver are 64 bit. I tried to compile on core i7 and I finished with compilation error as shown above, after approx 5 minutes. So it's possible you didn't reached the point when compilation fails. However I'm not sure if I did all things properly, in any case patch was not applied clean. I was forced to use -f switch and there was some hunk failed messages. I'm going to try again in a few days, but first I need to carefully figure out how that build stuff works. Once you will be succeded, please share your debs, if I will be succeded I will do the same... Or if anybody managed to apply this patch, please share debs... since we can't count on any official support, maybe somebody will able to prepare unofficial build. Qt4 is not going to be updated anymore, so this would solve all problems forever, at least for qt4 apps (gkt ones is another story, again debian maintainters failed with that for many packages). You said you interrupted compilation, are you able to finish it with success? I'm on Testing but the qt4 version is the same (4.8.7). With the 2-core CPU of my desktop computer, compilation would take 2 hours; hence the interruption. My laptop's CPU is far stronger but I'm not sure about the cooling system. I may repeat the 64-bit compilation later, when I have enough time or find an easier way, but I can't do anything about 32-bit. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
