Bug#1029032: Package (almost) ready

2024-06-24 Thread Adrien Nader
HI László,

Apologies, I was busy on other topics and I had gotten some initial
comments on the packaging too (d/copyright needing tweaks).

I can't upload and would appreciate sponsoring.

I've updated the packaging in the git repository:

https://salsa.debian.org/adrien-n/python-google-api-core/-/tree/sid?ref_type=heads

I've updated d/copyright and the packaging is lintian-clean. Julian has
also tested the package and confirmed it working with new
python-googleapi versions.

Thanks,

Hi,

I hadn't spotted your ITP until I had prepared

Since it's ready and passing, I'd like to more forward with this. Do you
have any objection?

Bug#942249: ITP: inkscape-ext-textext -- Re-editable LaTeX graphics for Inkscape

Hi,

It seems to work fine in inkscape, many thanks for your work!

I just notice one thing: you may have forgot a dependency on python3-lxml.

Kind regards,

Hello! I'm glad someone is finding use for this. I updated the
packaging in [1]. Notice the change in package name to
inkscape-textext, which more closely matches other inkscape extension
packages.

It "works" in the sense that it compiles, installs, and creates
basic objects in inkscape, but I haven't tested the packaging
(or the actual extension) beyond that.

I'd appreciate any feedback you have while testing and using it.

I'll try to get around to uploading to debian-mentors again and
asking for a sponsor in the near-ish future.

Best,
Antonio

2020-05-20 Thread Adrien Grellier
Hi,

Thank your for your package of TexText. I successfully compile your package for
Buster, for a user of our laboratory, but failed to use it.

Upstream developpers released a new version recently (1.0.1), do you intend to
package it ? It can solve the bugs I encountered.

Kind regards,

Bug#900531: ITP: tinyjsd -- Lightweight JavaScript Debugger for Thunderbird and Firefox

2018-06-01 Thread Adrien CLERC

Le 01/06/2018 à 00:14, Daniel Kahn Gillmor a écrit :

TinyJSD is a JavaScript debugger for Mozilla products (Firefox,
Thunderbird, SeaMonkey).
If I go to the official addon page
(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tiny-javascript-debugger/),
it says that it is not compatible for Firefox Quantum (>=57). So I guess
that you need at list Firefox Developer Edition, with the old extensions
system enabled. But, as far as I remember, the only available Firefox in
Debian is the regular one.
However, on the version page
(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tiny-javascript-debugger/versions/),
there is a version for Thunderbird. So maybe the description should
mention the fact that it is currently working only on Thunderbird for
Debian version.

Bug#395573: RFP: visit -- interactive parallel visualization and graphical analysis tool

2017-11-08 Thread Adrien Grellier
Hi,

I finally got through the compilation's errors.

So if you take my repo, you should be able to build into sbuild a deb
package for visit. It does build with python2 and Qt5.

Be careful, it doesn't respect the Debian way at all : The FHS is not
respected and some libraries are bundle in it (gfortran, etc.). I have
build only one big .deb, but it may be split (python-visit, visit-dev,
etc.).

I also had to disable some functionalities in visit (HDF5, Silo, GDAL),
BoxLib, as it triggers some  compilation's errors.

It is sufficient for our internal needs, so I won't invest more time in
it. But if anyone wants to bring visit into Debian, feel free to use my
work, it could be a start.

Kind regards,

Adrien

Bug#395573: Building Visit for Debian

2017-10-17 Thread Adrien Grellier
Hi,

I am interested to have visit for Debian Stretch.

So I took the work you've done and tried to compile visit 2.12.3 on
Debian Stretch. My work is here, feel free to use it:

https://github.com/LHEEA/debian-visit

Cmake now configure correctly the package, but I got compilations
errors, which should be solved according to visit's wiki:

https://www.visitusers.org/index.php?title=VTK_6.3_Upgrade

Unfortunately I will not have time to finish the packaging… So if anyone
have time to continue the work to have a proper package which compiles,
please contribute…
My patches are also quite dirty, sorry for that.

Kind regards,

Adrien

Multibyte encodings such as utf8 are not supported, because Python is buggy.

Is that still an issue? I highly doubt that a terminal application that
doesn't support UTF8 is useful nowadays.

Bug#820377: ITP: photocollage -- Graphical tool to make photo collage posters

PhotoCollage allows you to create photo collage posters. It assembles
the input photographs it is given to generate a big poster. Photos are
automatically arranged to fill the whole poster, then you can change the
final layout, dimensions, border or swap photos in the generated grid.
Eventually the final poster image can be saved in any size.

It is already widely used and described on the internet as well as in
printed magazines.

PhotoCollage is already available natively in Fedora since 2014.

yamllint is a linter / validity checker for YAML files. It does not only check
for syntax validity, but for weirdnesses like key repetition and cosmetic
problems such as lines length, trailing spaces, indentation, etc.

It is used by developers and teams that need to check their YAML sources, as
well as continuous integration tools. A complete documentation is available at

yamllint is already available natively for Fedora, CentOS, and for Ubuntu using
a PPA. To the best of my knowledge, there is no equivalent software for YAML
(although such linters already exist for Python, C, Javascript, etc.)

JSEncrypt provides a simple wrapper around the fantastic work done by Tom Wu

With JSEncrypt, you can generate private and public keypairs (it takes less
than 6 seconds for generating a 2048 bits keypair on my laptop), then use
 them

I am really a newcomer in security, but I still think there should be a warning
on using this library for generating keypairs, since there is no reliable
source of entrypo available in Javascript (yet).
Please feel free to slap me if I am wrong on this :)

The integration for Gnome is already in Debian (xul-ext-gnome-keyring), it
