Bug#611044: ITP: animata -- real-time animation software
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Alexandre Quessy alexan...@quessy.net Animata is a real-time animation software, designed to create interactive background projections for concerts, theatre and dance performances, and promotional screenings. The peculiarity of the software is that the animation - the movement of the puppets, the changes of the background - is generated in real-time, making continuous interaction possible. This ability also permits that physical sensors, cameras or other environmental variables can be attached to the animation of characters, creating a cartoon reacting to its environment. For example, it is quite simple to create a virtual puppet band reacting to live audio input, or set up a scene of drawn characters controlled by the movement of dancers. In contrast with the traditional 3D animation programs, creating characters in Animata is quite simple and takes only a few minutes. On the basis of the still images, which serve as the skeleton of the puppets, we produce a network of triangles, some parts of which we link with the bone structure. The movement of the bones is based on a physical model, which allows the characters to be easily moved. Animata can be connected with widespread programming environments used by multimedia developers and artists in order to make use of the possibilities of these applications in the fields of image editing, sound analysis, or motion capture. Bug#586873: ITP: spinframework -- spatial interaction framework
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Alexandre Quessy alexan...@quessy.net The SPIN Framework allows for 'Spatial Interaction' in a networked system of virtual environments. Tools are provided for high-level layout of 3D content, visualization, and distribution of state over networks. Possible application areas include: * Immersive Environments / Virtual Reality * Collaborative 3D authoring and editing * Telepresence * Visualization * Distributed Performance Art * Online Game / Metaverse Engines One of the key features of the system is that spatial layout and editing is done in real time rather than in an offline process. This allows for rapid prototyping of virtual environments and interaction. Network communication is achieved through OpenSoundControl (OSC), allowing the use several existing systems for control flow, including Pure Data, Max/MSP, Processing, etc. The framework provides generic mechanisms for spatial manipulation, based on geometric events (movement, intersection, incidence, etc.), so a number of interaction paradigms can be explored. Bug#586874: ITP: openscenegraph-genwrapper -- OpenSceneGraph introspection wrapper generator
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Alexandre Quessy alexan...@quessy.net Maco Jez's genwrapper is a utility program that reads C++ header files and then automatically generates osgWrapper code from to use alongside osgIntrospection. GenWrapper was created as an 'ad-hoc' tool to support the development of osgIntrospection and it was never intended to be used with anything other than OSG source files, nor it was designed to meet requirements other than the author's ones. GenWrapper was tested on the OSG source tree ONLY and it's not known to work with anything else. If you want to use GenWrapper on your own application's source tree, try to follow OSG coding conventions and directory layout in order to minimize the risk of failure. GENWRAPPER MAY OVERWRITE AND DESTROY YOUR FILES, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS!!! Wrappers are generated from a two-phases process. The first phase requires an XML description of source files to be created with Doxygen (GenWrapper can build a Doxyfile for you). In the second phase GenWrapper takes the XML input and generates C++ introspection wrappers and optionally GNU makefiles and VS6 project files. This code is released in the public domain.
