Bug#995077: Adopt packages

Bug#995078: RFA: deluge -- bittorrent client written in Python/PyGTK
Package: wnpp Severity: normal As neither Cristian nor myself have time to maintain this package, I am requesting an adopter. I have also filed an RFA for libtorrent-rasterbar which is an essential dependency for deluge. Ideally, a new maintainer would adopt both. As I was not personally a user of the web front-end or the daemon, there is a lot of room for improvement to those parts of this package. I'd be happy to sponsr uploads for any perspective maintainers. Thanks, asb
Bug#995076: RFA: libtorrent-rasterbar - C++ bittorrent library
Package: wnpp Severity: normal As neither Cristian nor myself have the time needed to maintain this package anymore, I'm opening an RFA. I am opening RFAs for both deluge and qbittorrent as well. As these packages are both part of the libtorrent-rasterbar ecosystem, ideally the adoptor would be someone interested in maintaining those clients as well. I'm happy to sponsor uploads for prospective new maintainers. Thanks, asb

Bug#864608: RFP: python-digitalocean -- Python bindings for the DigitalOcean API
Hi, As a Debian Developer, DigitalOcean employee, and upstream contributor to python-digitalocean, I'm pretty well placed to package this. =) I actually have a packaging branch at: https://github.com/andrewsomething/python-digitalocean and it is available in this PPA: https://launchpad.net/~andrewsomething/+archive/ubuntu/digitalocean I'd love to know what your use case is for it in Debian. I've held off on packaging it as APIs can move fairly fast, at least compared to Debian stable releases. Are you planning on packaging something that depends on it, or do you just want it available via apt? Humanist typefaces I think are called | ‘humanist’ because they reference / are influenced by how the human hand | produces lettermarks. It could be interesting to explain why Yet Another Font. There are certainly reasons and those are the information needed by people who have to decide would I want to install this on my system. I hope to, just trying to figure out the balance between the kind of promotional praising that might be used by an upstream author and the more restrained descriptions we tend to use for Debian packages. I find font descriptions even more difficult than most packages, as it is so easy to drift a bit too far into art criticism. How does the following sound to you? | Junction, the first open-source type project by The League of Moveable Type, | is a humanist sans-serif font. Designed by Caroline Hadilaksono, it has hand | drawn and human qualities while retaining the clarity and efficiencies of a | sans-serif typeface. | . | It currently only supports basic Latin characters. Slightly modified from Fedora's description which reads: | Designed by Caroline Hadilaksono, inspired by her favorite humanist | sans serif typefaces. Hi Ben, It's great to see that someone is working on getting CiviCRM into Debian. I wanted to let you know that there was some previous work on this a while back that you might be able to leverage. Daniel Holbach and I put some effort into this as part of the Ubuntu NGO team, but this has stalled largely due to the number of bundled PHP code copies. There is a wiki page that we used to track this work [0]. There you can find links to debian packaging branches for quite a few of the bundled code copies as well as a link to a PPA with binary and source packages. We forwarded our work to pkg-php-maint at the time. Some of these things have found there way into Debian since. There is also a branch for a civicrm package at lp:~ubuntu-ngo/civicrm/ubuntu This package was functional, but never really ready for prime-time. Please let me know if there is any way I can help. To my knowledge there's no work being done on this for Debian yet, and I'm not suitable to package a complex PHP application :-) I guess I misread the title out of hopefulness. =) Still, this is good information to have in the bug report either way. -- Andrew Starr-Bochicchio Ubuntu Developer https://launchpad.net/~andrewsomething Debian Maintainer http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=a.starr.b%40gmail.com PGP/GPG Key ID: D53FDCB1 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#609278: [Pkg-ayatana-devel] Bug#609278: progress on Unity?
On Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 9:59 AM, Adnan Hodzic ad...@foolcontrol.org wrote: On Sun, 20 Mar 2011, Jon Dowland wrote: Has there been any progress on this ITP? Not that I know. You're welcome to help, Adnan is doing lots of other stuff already and pkg-ayatana is largely understaffed in general. Thank you Raphael for this very thoughtful observation, as it is absolutely true. I kind of paused this whole process at the moment, was even thinking of adding RFH tag to this ITP if that's even possible. Implementation of Unity into Debian requires immense amount of work to be done, and I'm not even sure it can be done by one person. Before I paused this process, huge deal of packages were missing in Debian, even in case they were present in Debian they required patching. Of course, these packages could be repackaged directly from Ubuntu as they are already patched and working nicely in Ubuntu. Before resuming this process I believe we need to figure out which way to go. I assume it's patching current Debian packages. As Raphael already said, I'm doing bunch of other stuff, so help would be highly appreciated. If I could get extra pair of hands and where we would divide duties among ourselves I believe this whole process could be finished relatively fast. We should probably have a larger discussion on pkg-ayatana-devel about goals/plans for the group in Wheezy, but a first step that would be useful would be to make sure http://wiki.debian.org/Ayatana/Packages is up-to-date. Currently it only has the packages which integrate into GNOME 2.X sessions, not all of the stuff required for Unity. We could probably also use a page that tracks/examines what patches to non-Ayatana packages that Ubuntu is carrying in order to build Unity. Also, it should be noted that Unity is currently implemented as a plugin to the Compiz 0.9.x branch. Which is only in experimental, so uploads need to be targeted there. - Andrew Starr-Bochicchio -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
