Bug#780155: ITP: baculum -- Baculum WebGUI tool for Bacula Community program
On Mon, Mar 9, 2015 at 2:13 PM, gani marcin.h...@bacula.pl wrote: Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Marcin Haba marcin.h...@bacula.pl * Package name: baculum Version : 7.0+git20150208 Upstream Author : Marcin Haba marcin.h...@bacula.pl * URL : http://www.bacula.org/ * License : AGPLv3 Programming Lang: PHP Description : Baculum WebGUI tool for Bacula Community program I see you linked to the bacula.org homepage for this package. Am I correct in saying that what you are packaging can be found here: http://www.bacula.org/git/cgit.cgi/bacula/tree/gui if so there seems to already be packaging (outside of Debian) that uses the bweb name for the package. If not, would you mind clarifying which GUI tool for Bacula this is with a link to a homepage and / or git repo? - is it a dependency for another package? Yes, it is. Baculum uses external toolset - PRADO Framework. Additionally Baculum uses external JavaScript libraries. Actually those are the dependencies of this project. The question is if this package is a dependency of another package (in the same way PRADO is a dependency of this package). - how do you plan to maintain it? After each Bacula and Baculum release I plan to build Baculum deb and rpm packages for community. From deb packages I am going to build also for Debian. - inside a packaging team? I am not sure about packaging team. I have never been packages maintainer. You should probably maintain it inside the Debian Bacula Team. This will make it easier to find a sponsor (which I will get to) and help if need be. - do you need a sponsor? No. I do not. You mentioned that you have never made Debian packages before. Thus, you are not a Debian developer and need a debian developer to review and then upload the packages for you. This is what a sponsor is. You need a sponsor. -- Cameron Norman -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#777064: ITA: surf -- Simple web browser by suckless community
Hello, On Wed, 4 Feb 2015 21:43:20 +0530 Vasudev Kamath kamathvasu...@gmail.com wrote: Package: wnpp Severity: normal As I don't have enough time to take care of this package, I request an adopter for the surf package. The package description is: surf is a simple web browser based on WebKit/GTK+. It is able to display websites and follow links. It supports the XEmbed protocol which makes it possible to embed it in another application. Furthermore, one can point surf to another URI by setting its XProperties. I would be happy to adopt the surf package. It seems to be a fairly simple little C program. Best regards, -- Cameron Norman

Bug#742373: ITP: maya-calendar - GTK+ calendar application
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Cameron Norman camerontnor...@gmail.com * Package name : maya-calendar Version : 0.3 * URL : https://launchpad.net/maya * License : GPLv3+ Programming Lang: Vala Description : GTK+ calendar application This calendar application was written as a part of Debian. It has a beautiful user interface and uses many modern GTK widgets. The calendar uses Evolution Data Server as a backend and features online syncing through EDS. Although Evolution has a very useful and complete calendar component, the application is quite bloated and contains contact and email functionality bolted on. GNOME calendar is a similar application, but it is written in C with GObject, which is not suitable for new contributors. Finally, California (written by Yorba) is an alternative that does not suffer the above problems, however it is a very new application and is not yet packaged. I plan to maintain this application myself, however I do need a sponsor for it. I have already packaged this mostly; I am just waiting for Granite (a GUI library) to be packaged before I request sponsorship.

Bug#532097: Still need help?
Hello, I am trying to get involved in Debian and happened across this RFH with the how-can-i-help package. The first message, in 2009, asked for somebody who is using Debian unstable and is willing to test/comb through cups's bug list and sort them out. I was wondering if help is still needed in packaging cups, and if so, what specific help is needed. Cheers, -- Cameron Norman
