Bug#368370: SASL2 crypt patch

2006-06-03 Thread Chris Vanden Berghe

Hi,

Great that you're tackling libsasl2! I hope you'd consider applying the
crypt patch (#207523) to the new package... without it only plaintext
password can be stored in the database.

Thanks for your work,
Chris.

Bug#254915: ITP: meanwhile -- open implementation of the Lotus Sametime Community Client protocol

2004-06-17 Thread Chris Vanden Berghe
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: meanwhile
  Version : 0.2
  Upstream Author : Christopher O'Brien <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://meanwhile.sourceforge.net
* License : GPL
  Description : open implementation of the Lotus Sametime Community Client
protocol

The heart of the Meanwhile Project is libMeanwhile. This library provides the
basic Sametime session functionality along with the core services; Presence,
Messaging, and Conferencing. This extensible client interface allows additional
services to be added to a session at runtime, allowing for simple integration of
future service handlers for whiteboard, screen-sharing, and file transfer.

Rather than design a custom client around libMeanwhile, we turn to the excellent
and very popular open source project Gaim. Gaim provides a flexible framework
for any number of client protocols, and integrates multiple messaging services
into a single application. The Meanwhile plugin for Gaim provides presense
tracking, customizable user status, messaging, conferencing, and will soon
include a user directory.

I will be packaging both the library as the gaim plugin (up to when it becomes a
standard protocol of gaim).

Bug#247483: ITP: metapixel -- a generator for photomosaics

2004-06-13 Thread Chris Vanden Berghe
I've uploaded my metapixel package to mentors.debian.net. It will be
added to the official debian repository as soon as I find a sponsor.

Please give it a try.

Regards,
Chris.

  Upstream Author : Mark Probst <[EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://www.complang.tuwien.ac.at/~schani/metapixel/

  Description : a generator for photomosaics

 Metapixel is a program for generating photomosaics. It can generate
 classical photomosaics, in which the source image is viewed as a matrix
 of equally sized rectangles for each of which a matching image is
 substitued, as well as collage-style photomosaics, in which rectangular
 parts of the source image at arbitrary positions (i.e. not aligned to a
 matrix) are substituted by matching images.

Bug#193758: Bug#132919: xsupplicant package

2004-04-13 Thread Chris Vanden Berghe
Hi,

Eric and I have exchanged some private email and decided to co-maintain
the xsupplicant package, as both of us already put some effort in it and
are willing to keep on doing that. This should result in a good and
mature package soon.

Cheers,
Chris.
