No, I don't have access to collab-maint yet.

Oh, cool. That's a bit further than I've gotten so far.

One thing I've noticed is that the package FTBFS in the current form,
i.e. I have to run debuild twice to build it. A possible way to fix
this is attached as patch.

Setting up a repo would be good indeed. Could you do that? I would be
in favor of git as VCS, but feel free to choose something else. I
guess you will need my alioth account name. It is davrieb-guest.

Thanks,

Subject: [PATCH] also clean stamp files in libgwibber*

Unless that is done the package needs two debuild runs to build successfully.

Pleased to hear that. Thanks.

One question about that.

I thought it might be a possibility to try to get the current version
in unstable RC-bug free and try to get a freeze-exception once that is
done.

The other possibility would be to just package current upstream and
provide packages in wheezy-backports once wheezy is out.

What do you think?

Thanks,
David

Bug#573822: RFA: gwibber -- microblogging client for GNOME

2012-07-22 Thread David Riebenbauer
Hi Joseph, Hi Kartik,

I would also be insterested in taking over the gwibber packaging.
My current progress can be found at
<http://git.liegesta.at/?p=pkg-gwibber.git;a=summary>.

Sure thing. I would be glad to maintain the package with you.

I am not a Debian Developer myself, so we would still have to find
someone within Debian to sponsor uploads of the package.

Karitk, would you potentially available as a sponsor?

I have built and maintained Debian packages before, but only for work
and my own private use. So, my experience is a bit limited so far.

First thing would probably be to download the source package or check
out my git repository. Then get yourself comfortable with the
packaging and the tools involved.

Fell free to contact me if you have questions? Another good place to
ask questions is debian-ment...@lists.debian.org.

Thanks,
David
