any plan here?

The ITA owner is still Fabio. I just corrected the title that was
missing some words.
When there is already an ITA you should not orphan the package as it is
Fabio's responsibility now.

Fabio, if you do not have the time to fulfill your ITA, please reset the
status to orphaned instead of RFA.

CMF is different, because it is more generic than cachefu,

I'm packaging zope-cmf1.4 as separate package because Plone (= 2.0.4)
need it. It will conflict with zope-cmf so all the packages that need
CMF 1.3 will work without problems.

I think this is the best solution, but if someone has a better idea he's
welcome.

Bug#222730: [Debian] zope-groupuserfolder packaging

submitter 222730 !
thanks

Hi, are you still working on zope-groupuserfolder? It seems there is
no activity since December 2003.

I'm working on Plone2 packaging and I've already packaged
zope-groupuserfolder, so if you agree I'm changing the submitter of the
bug. I'll upload it as the other packages needed by Plone2 are ready.

Thanks,
Fabio.

Formerly known as CMFTypes, Archetypes is a developers framework
for rapidly developing and deploying rich, full featured content
types within the context of Zope/CMF and Plone.

Archetypes is based around the idea of an _Active Schema_. Rather
than provide a simple description of a new data type Archetype

The product provides:
 * A new tool, portal_actionicons, which serves as a registry

descriptive title, a priority, and an icon ID. The tool
post-processes a set of actions (i.e., those generated by

 * ZPT macros which build either horizontal or vertical icon

Bug#248397: Grub debian package, can I help you?

2004-09-07 Thread Fabio Tranchitella
Hi, I'm interested in helping you with grub Debian package.
I'm wondering about looking at the bugs of the package and fix
some of them (especially related to update-grub).

IMHO some of the bugs of grub are quite easy to fix...
If you are interested, I can start working on it. I'm not (yet)

a new upload.

Bug#255473: ITA: python-mysqldb -- A Python interface for MySQL

2004-06-28 Thread Fabio Tranchitella
Hi Gregor, my name is Fabio Tranchitella. Even if I'm not yet a DD
(but I'm actually in nm.debian.org, and I already have a package in
debian) I'm interested in adopting python-mysqldb. I often use it for
work, so I'd like to help this package to be good maintained.
Also, upstream released 1.0 version, so I think it should be
packaged soon.

About the license problem, I think there are no exit ways. The only Good
Thing(tm) we can do is to build two packages as you suggested, with some
meta-packages for the transition. Have you already talked about this
problem on debian-devel or on debian-python? Maybe I missed it...

Thanks in advance,

Bug#250391: ITP: gtkdialog -- GUI-creation command-line utility based on GTK+ library

2004-05-23 Thread Fabio Tranchitella
On Sun, May 23, 2004 at 11:30:16AM -0400, Dan Weber wrote:
How is this different than glade?

It's very different than glade (and IMHO it has a very different target).
Here a simple example using gtkdialog:

---

#!/bin/bash

export MAIN_DIALOG='
 vbox
  text
labelThis is a label.../label
  /text
  hbox
   button ok
action echo You pressed OK /action
   /button
   button cancel
  action exit /action
  /button
  /hbox
 /vbox
'

gtkdialog --program MAIN_DIALOG

---

Here there are only labels and buttons, but you can add textfields, combos,
radios
and checkboxex and so on.

As you can see, it has an XML language (but easier than glade XML files),
but it can be used with an arbitrary interpreter (in the previous example
I used bash, but every interpreter can use gtkdialog) or with applications that
support pipes, I/O from file or environment variables.

When gtkdialog exits, it returns as standard output all variables defined in
the dialog(s) in the form:

VAR1='value1'
VAR2='value2'

Is this like an instant debconf thing but only in gtk?

Yes, it is similar to debconf, but you have to define the interface
(which can be more complex than debconf) with an XML language and
the result variables are printed as standard output. It's similar
to xdialog, but with an high customizable GUI.

 Dan Weber

Thanks for your answer,
Fabio T.
