Bug#528926: O: pmidi -- A command line midi player for ALSA

2009-05-16 Thread Francesco Namuri
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hi,
I'm orphaning the package because I don't use it anymore.
The development of pmidi is stopped and it requires a drastical changes
to fit with glib 2.0 after the remotion of glibi 1.2, so I think that
the best solution is to remove it from archives.

Best regards,
Francescoo

The package description is:
ALSA is an effort to create a modules sound system for Linux,
while maintaining full compatibility with OSS/Lite.
 .
This program works with latest ALSA 1.0 drivers and former 0.9 versions.
 .
This is a straightforward command line program to play midi files
 through the ALSA sequencer.
 .
As you can specify the client and port to connect to on the command
line it is also useful for testing ALSA or clients that need to receive
 sequencer events.

I didn't expect the presence of tags to override a statement in the

source. Maybe that needs to be clarified rather than phrasing it as
"can accept patches as HTML".

I've sent a mail to the author, I'm waiting for the reply.

The software is gradually maturing but is still lacking in

I've made the debianization from scratch, unfortunately I have not
checked on the repositories ubuntu to verify if it had already been
debianizzed or no.
The latest version of the package that I have tried to upload in debian
is in mentors.debian.net [1]
There is also a SVN repository on my webspace [2]

It autodetects all the ntfs partitions on the system, also if there is
not the relative entry on the /etc/fstab, and it can autoconfigure the
fstab. Also it can configure change the configuration of hal for the
removable devices that contains a ntfs partitions.

Consider a new debian user that does not know anything about /etc/fstab,
this package can be a good help for him (IHMO)...

PS
the same package in ubuntu have a popcom of 9586.

the aim of drapes is to compliment (replace) the built in GNOME desktop
wallpaper selection tool. It can be configured as a tray application or as a
panel applet. The bigest selling point of drapes is ability to rotate wallapers
on a timely basis. It strives to be as simple as possible and fit in the rest
 of the GNOME 2 desktop.
