Well, my first idea was simply to upload the package and then to coordinate with Turbo Fredriksson to make nagios use it. I have a draft package but haven't proceeded on it since then, because I've been stopped by Jeremy T Bouse who told me he had a ready nagios + plugins package. After that Turbo has done an upload to nagios fixing his RC bugs, but nothing went on about the plugins, so some days ago I wrote them both, to ask what to do. Turbo answered that he would be glad if one could manage the plugins, because he has no time to manage one more package. Jeremy on the other side seemed only interested in managing the whole nagios, which Turbo wants to keep. So, after all, if no one objects or has a better idea I think I'll manage nagios-plugins, according to my original plan... Obviously if there are other ideas Turbo shall have the last word about what is to be done, since he is the nagios maintainer. Bug#151829: CPU package in debian
Hi, Sorry to bother you again about cpu. As I said I aim to have CPU available in sarge. From a rapid calculation it seems that for this to happen a realistic deadline would be to have it uploaded for the 8th of september. This considering it takes about a week for the ftpmasters to scrutinize and approve a new package, the usual 10-days delay for testing, and the fact that the distribution will freeze on the 1st of October (unless there are delays for the toolchain to be fixed, which I cannot tell). So, unless you have a package ready for that date I'll have to upload it myself, and maybe after that we can co-maintain it in sid. (with ready here meaning: with no packaging errors, and with a release quality standard) Obviously I cannot sponsor a package which doesn't follow the rules, since as a sponsor I'm fully responsible for what I upload. Anyway I'll gladly accept any contribution or bug fix for the package and the software. (Since I'm not so familiar with the CVS I'll upload the released one.) I hope you can accept this: normally I would have had no problem to give you more time to prepare a package I would accept to upload, but I had to adopt a more restrictive policy due to the time constraints. (I consulted about this with some other debian mentors, and they agreed it's a fair policy) Thanks for your contribution, Guido

Hi, I'm writing you about debian bug 151829 (bug cced for reference). The bug is an RFP for cpu filed against the BTS on the 3rd of July, 2002. On the 25th of April you appear to have answered to the bug report, with subject ITP, so it may seem that you were preparing package for CPU; however you didn't retitle the bug report, nor you uploaded a package since then. So I'm writing to ask if you are (still) intrested in maintaining a debian CPU package, or if you are no more. In the first case: how is the preparation going? Are you going to upload it soon? Do you have a sponsor for it? (in case you are not a DD, which doesn't seem) Are you having trouble in your packaging? In the second case, since I'm interested in having CPU in debian, may I go ahead and package it? Would you like to co-maintain it?
