Bug#909567: ITP: opensnitch -- Port of the Little Snitch application firewall
Hey aliasarmor, It would be great to have you as the package maintainer! I'm a Debian Developer and can mentor you through the process. The first step is to get it building on Debian unstable. Then get it building with only packages from Debian. Looks like lamby started that process here: https://salsa.debian.org/lamby/pkg-opensnitch More info here https://github.com/evilsocket/opensnitch/issues/304

Bug#869169: packaged and uploaded
> Nilson is already working on this package at https://salsa.debian.org/nilsonfsilva/minisign. > Is there a reason for creating that repo when you do not own the ITP? Do you want to sponsor Nilson? Sorry, I didn't mean to step on anyone's toes. I'd be very happy if Nilson wants to be the maintainer of the minisign package. We can move the package to whichever salsa repo he wants. Also, I don't need to be a maintainer of this package, I maintain enough already. I'm flexible and open on all this, I just wanted to get minisign into Debian and didn't find signs of progress on the ITP bug. > A side note: signify-openbsd is already in the archive. This is almost the same (https://github.com/aperezdc/signify/issues/20). Why should we package minisign in addition? signify-openbsd is a different codebase with a different feature set. They are similar, but far from the same thing.

Bug#969424: ITP: pyasn -- very fast IP address to Autonomous System Number lookups
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Hans-Christoph Steiner * Package name: pyasn Version : 1.6.1 Upstream Author : Hadi Asghari and Arman Noroozian * URL : https://github.com/hadiasghari/pyasn * License : MIT and BSD Programming Lang: Python, C Description : very fast IP address to Autonomous System Number lookups pyasn is a Python extension module that enables very fast IP address to Autonomous System Number lookups. Current state and Historical lookups can be done, based on the MRT/RIB BGP archive used as input. . pyasn is different from other ASN lookup tools in that it provides offline and historical lookups. It provides utility scripts for users to build their own lookup databases based on any MRT/RIB archive. This makes pyasn much faster than online dig/whois/json lookups. . The module is written in C and Python, and cross-compiles on Linux and Windows. Underneath, it uses a radix tree data structure for storage of IP addresses. In the current version, it borrows code from py-radix to support both IPV4 and IPV6 network prefixes. The current release is a beta. Compared to the previous version, it provides support for Python 2 and 3; adds new functionality, performance improvements, and unit-tests. . pyasn is developed and maintained by researchers at the Economics of Cybersecurity research group at Delft University of Technology (http://econsec.tbm.tudlft.nl). The package is used on an almost daily basis and bugs are fixed pretty quickly. The package is largely developed and maintained by Hadi Asghari and Arman Noroozian. Please report any bugs via GitHub (https://github.com/hadiasghari/pyasn) or email the developers.

Bug#967943: ITP: opencard-framework - smart card middleware implemented in Java
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist This is an "Intent To Package" (ITP) email to register the beginning of the process of including software for Debian. * Package name: opencard-framework Version : 1.4.148 Upstream Author : CardContact * URL : https://www.openscdp.org/ocf/ * License : OPEN CARD CONSORTIUM SOURCE LICENSE Programming Lang: Java Package source : https://salsa.debian.org/java-team/opencard-framework/ Description: smart card middleware implemented in Java The OpenCard Framework (OCF) is a smart card middleware implemented in Java. The framework allows a smart card aware application to access contact and contactless cards that implement commands using Application Protocol Data Units (APDUs) as defined by ISO/IEC 7816-4, -8 and -9. . The OpenCard Framework was originally defined by the OpenCard Consortium, but mainly driven by IBM and Gemplus. The work ended with version 1.2 of the specification and a reference implementation by IBM. The consortium split up and left the OpenCard Framework in a dormant state. The website was still available until 2007 and is now shut down. The original code was transferred the a project on SourceForge, but never actively maintained. . A number of projects are still using OCF, including the OpenSCDP project. . The version of OCF maintained by the OpenSCDP projects is based on the last version of the reference implementation. It contains some bug-fixes and minor modifications to the original code and a generic card service to access smart cards with an ISO 7816-4 file system. Such a generic service was missing from the original code and rendered it pretty much useless for any serious application. . This distribution of OCF contains the base-core, base-opt and pcsc components, but does not include the reference implementation for the IBM MFC and special Gemplus terminals. It includes support for card readers using the CT-API interface. . If you are new to OCF, then a suggested starting point is the programmer's guide.

It might work with other smart cards as well, I'm not certain. Basically, it is just boilerplate that does nothing more than what is already described in the excellent OpenSC tutorial (https://github.com/OpenSC/OpenSC/wiki/SmartCardHSM) for the Smart Card HSM. However, there's some annoying issues with that -- multiple tools are needed (pkcs11-tool, pkcs15-tool, sc-hsm-tool, OpenSSL) and output formats are sometimes not very user friendly (e.g., public keys are exported as binary DER blobs instead of PEM files). So I wrote this little frontend to encapsulate common tasks a bit. The hardware this was develped with is the NitroKey HSM, which is a quite affordable smart-card based USB HSM. signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

For performance reasons this is done only once, since the preprocessor keeps track on the timestamps and only recompiles, if any of the imported SASS/SCSS files is younger than the corresponding generated CSS file. . This Django app provides a templatetag {% sass_src 'path/to/file.scss' %}, which can be used instead of the built-in templatetag static. Since version 0.3.4 this also works for Jinja2 templates. . If SASS/SCSS files shall be referenced through the Media class, or media property, the SASS processor can be used directly. . Additionally, django-sass-processor is shipped with a management command, which can convert the content of all occurrences inside the templatetag sass_src as an offline operation. Hence the libsass compiler is not required in a production environment. . During development, a `sourcemap <https://developer.chrome.com="; devtools="" docs="" css-preprocessors="">`__ is generated along side with the compiled *.css file. This allows to debug style sheet errors much easier. . With this tool, you can safely remove your Ruby installations "Compass" and "SASS" from your Django projects. You neither need any directory "watching" daemons based on node.js.

Reading and writing files with FileChannel or SeekableByteChannel, InputStream, OutputStream, etc. Symbolic links. Hard links to regular files. SecureDirectoryStream, for operations relative to an open directory. Glob and regex path filtering with PathMatcher. Watching for changes to a directory with a WatchService. File attributes. Built-in attribute views that can be supported include "basic", "owner", "posix", "unix", "dos", "acl" and "user". Do note, however, that not all attribute views provide useful attributes. For example, while setting and reading POSIX file permissions is possible with the "posix" view, those permissions will not actually affect the behavior of the file system. Jimfs also supports creating file systems that, for example, use Windows-style paths and (to an extent) behavior. In general, however, file system behavior is modeled after UNIX and may not exactly match any particular real file system or platform.

The key feature of apksig is that it knows about differences in APK signature verification logic between different versions of the Android platform. apksig can thus check whether a signed APK is expected to verify on all Android platform versions supported by the APK. When signing an APK, apksig will choose the most appropriate cryptographic algorithms based on the Android platform versions supported by the APK being signed. The project consists of two subprojects: apksig -- a pure Java library, and apksigner -- a pure Java command-line tool based on the apksig library. apksig library offers three primitives: ApkSigner which signs the provided APK so that it verifies on all Android platform versions supported by the APK. The range of platform versions can be customized if necessary. ApkVerifier which checks whether the provided APK is expected to verify on all Android platform versions supported by the APK. The range of platform versions can be customized if necessary. (Default)ApkSignerEngine which abstracts away signing an APK from parsing and building an APK file. This is useful in optimized APK building pipelines, such as in Android Plugin for Gradle, which need to perform signing while building an APK, instead of after. For simpler use cases where the APK to be signed is available upfront, the ApkSigner above is easier to use. NOTE: Some public classes of the library are in packages having the word “internal” in their name. These are not public API of the library. Do not use *.internal.* classes directly. apksigner command-line tool apksigner command-line tool offers two operations: sign the provided APK so that it verifies on all Android platforms supported by the APK. Run apksigner sign for usage information. check whether the provided APK's signatures are expected to verify on all Android platforms supported by the APK. Run apksigner verify for usage information. The tool determines the range of Android platform versions (API Levels) supported by the APK by inspecting the APK's AndroidManifest.xml. This behavior can be overridden by specifying the range of platform versions on the command-line.

Mocks can either be generated from the /system/build.prop file of existing hardware or be completely made up from scratch. You (may) need this tool if Google Play won't give you access to an app because of device incompatibilities, country or carrier restrictions. You (may) also need this tool if you are an app developer yourself and want to test compatibility filter settings without actually owning the target device. . Word of warning: Dummy Droid grants you absolute freedom, including the freedom to specify absolute nonsense (such as a smart-tv with a screensize of 1 pixel). Please pay attention to the instructions and use a throw-away account for testing. Otherwise you might end up with dozens of mocks in your main account you cannot get rid of again!

In the default mode it does this by executing the SSHFS client software within the guest, which creates an SSH connection from the Vagrant guest back to the Vagrant host. . The benefits of this approach: - Works on any host platform and hypervisor type - Windows, Linux, Mac OS X - Virtualbox, Libvirt, Hyper-V, VMWare - Seamlessly works on remote Vagrant solutions - Works with vagrant aws/openstack/etc.. plugins . The drawbacks with this approach: - Performance is worse than an implementation like NFS - There must be `sftp-server` software on the Vagrant host

Bug#827514: ITP: python-vagrant -- Python bindings for interacting with Vagrant virtual machines
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: "Hans-Christoph Steiner" <h...@eds.org> * Package name: python-vagrant Version : 0.5.13 Upstream Author : Todd DeLuca <todddel...@gmail.com> * URL : https://github.com/todddeluca/python-vagrant * License : MIT Programming Lang: Python Package source : https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/python-modules/packages/python-vagrant.git Description : Python bindings for interacting with Vagrant virtual machines Python-vagrant is a python module that provides a _thin_ wrapper around the `vagrant` command line executable, allowing programmatic control of Vagrant virtual machines (boxes). This project began because I wanted python bindings for Vagrant so I could programmatically access my vagrant box using Fabric. This module is useful for: . - Starting a Vagrant virtual machine (VM) (`up`) - Terminating a Vagrant VM (`destroy`) - Halting a Vagrant VM without destroying it (`halt`) - Querying the status of a VM or VMs (`status`) - Getting ssh configuration information useful for SSHing into the VM (`host`, `port`, ...) - Running `vagrant` commands in a multi-VM environment (http://vagrantup.com/v1/docs/multivm.html) by using `vm_name` parameter - Initializing the VM based on a named base box, using init(). - Adding, Removing, and Listing boxes (`box add`, `box remove`, `box list`) - Provisioning VMs - up() accepts options like `no_provision`, `provision`, and `provision_with`, and there is a `provision()` method - Using sandbox mode from the Sahara gem: https://github.com/jedi4ever/sahara . This package is _beta_ and its API is not guaranteed to be stable. The API attempts to be congruent with the `vagrant` API terminology, to facilitate knowledge transfer for users already familiar with Vagrant. Over time, the python-vagrant API has changed to better match the underling `vagrant` CLI and to evolve with the changes in that CLI. . The package version numbering is in the form `0.X.Y`. The initial `0` reflects the _beta_ nature of this project. The number `X` is incremented when backwards-incompatible changes occur. The number `Y` is incremented when backwards-compatible features or bug fixes are added.

One of the most frequently voiced criticisms of the Java language is the volume of this type of code that is found in most projects. This problem is frequently a result of design decisions in various libraries, but is exacerbated by limitations in the language itself. Project Lombok aims to reduce the prevalence of some of the worst offenders by replacing them with a simple set of annotations.

However, implementing and distributing such an Interface is error prone. . One of the reasons is that the system depends on naming schemes and text files. The name of an implementation should be put in a text file, located on the classpath in a folder called META-INF/services/. . This project allows the programmer to use an Annotation, @ProviderFor, to flag a class as an implementation of a certain interface. During compilation, the necessary files are created at the appropriate locations. Also, the class is inspected to see if it follows all rules applicable to Service Providers. Compile time errors will be generated if those rules are broken, assisting the programmer to create more robust code.

Repo unifies the many Git repositories when necessary, does the uploads to our revision control system, and automates parts of the Android development workflow. Repo is not meant to replace Git, only to make it easier to work with Git in the context of Android. The repo command is an executable Python script that you can put anywhere in your path. In working with the Android source files, you will use Repo for across-network operations. For example, with a single Repo command you can download files from multiple repositories into your local working directory. . repo is an unusual tool because it downloads all of the python modules it needs to run using GPG-signed git tags, and stores those files as part of the project that it is working with. So this package just provides the wrapper script, which provides the GPG signing keys for verifying that the correct python code was downloaded. signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

The primary focus of the project is to provide a truly embeddable Java based HTTP engine capable of handling enormous loads. Simple provides a truly asynchronous service model, request completion is driven using an internal, transparent, monitoring system. This allows Simple to vastly outperform most popular Java based servers in a multi-tier environment, as it requires only a very limited number of threads to handle very high quantities of concurrent clients. That means that Debian can be installed in parallel with Android, using the same kernel as Android. Android uses Linux uids and gids quite differently than GNU/Linux. Each app has its own uid and gid, and every part of that app runs as that uid/gid. Linux groups are used to represent system permissions, like internet access. This package sets up all of the Android permissions uids and gids in Debian so that you can easily give Debian processes Android permissions by adding the user that process runs as to the group that represents the permission, e.g. aid_inet for network access permission. Specifically, this package adds all uids and gids for each permission listed in Android's system/core/include/private/android_filesystem_config.h to /etc/passwd and /etc/group. This is required in Debian+Android setups created by Android apps such as Debian Kit and Lil' Debi. This only makes sense to install on a Debian chroot running on Android. It should be installed as early as possible in the install process to prevent conflicting user/group names with Debian. This package is based on Sven-Ola Tuecke's 'andromize' package. signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

Bug#727716: testing fdroidserver
My plan is to package aapt itself and have fdroidserver depend on it, and use the built-in aapt by default. I've never used Replicant, tho I'm happy to hear it exists. As for adding support for replicant SDK paths, I think that should happen upstream. Since I've never worked with it, I can only say patches welcome. .hc On 11/08/2013 09:03 AM, chrysn wrote: hello hans-christoph, i've tested the fdroidserver from your git repository, albeit in a slightly unconventional way: i'd prefer to have a completely free build environment, so i'm using the replicant sdk from [1] instead of the usual android sdk. this showed a problem with discovering the aapt path: (reporting this to the itp instead of to a dedicated bug as the package is still in NEW). $ fdroid init Reading config.py... (given your comment in 459219, that part would need an extension to detect a natively installed aapt too, and ideally not even mention it in the config). with that set up, i was able to build an fdroid application (net.sylvek.sharemyposition) with minimal modifications (setting target=android-15 from target=android-11), and to install it on an android device. given that, there is reason to assume that the infrastructure of a full featured f-droid server can be properly shipped in main. Bug#459219: packaging aapt
I'd like to package aapt and get it into Debian to work in conjunction with my recently uploaded fdroidserver package. Stefan Handschuh said he's packaged all the dependencies, but I can't find them anywhere. Any word on that? It looks like aapt is in a separate repo from android-tools (platform/frameworks/base versus platform/system/core), so I don't see a reason to include it in the same source package. In fact, that makes me think that we should be organizing the source packages around the upstream git repos. Perhaps its time for a pkg-android team? I'd join. .hc signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

Many use multiple chat apps, including one for desktop and another for mobile, or one for Mac OS X and another for GNU/Linux or Windows. The trust relationships are only stored locally in the app in a format that is specific to that app. Switching between all of them means that you have to manage your trust relationships for each app that you use. . KeySync addresses this problem by allowing you to sync your OTR identity and trust relationships between multiple apps. It currently works with ChatSecure on Android, and Pidgin, Adium, and Jitsi on desktop. This project is for converting the various OTR file formats between each other. Bug#693492: reconsidering
I think we should reconsider adding litecoin to Debian. Its traded on some exchanges already, and MtGox has said it would be adding support for trading it as well. One thing is clear in all these crypto-currencies: there is not going to be just one. So I think any reputable one should be in Debian. I'm willing to upload litecoin, I'm a DD, but I think it makes sense to have team maintenance for the coins that are direct descendants of bitcoin since the packaging will be so similar. And since working on these crypto-currencies clearly has ties to financial matters, I think we should be disclosing our financial interests when doing work for Debian. I'll start: I only less than one bitcoin and less than 10 litecoin. I plan on buying a few more of each. signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Hans-Christoph Steiner h...@eds.org * Package name: pd-fftease Version : 2.5.2.1 Upstream Author : Eric Lyon and Christopher Penrose * URL : http://www.somasa.qub.ac.uk/~elyon/LyonSoftware/MaxMSP/FFTease/ * License : MIT Programming Lang: C Description : live spectral sound processors for Pd FFTease is a collection of Pd objects implementing various forms of spectral sound processing. These include an additive-synthesis phase vocoder, noise reduction, cross synthesis, and more unusual forms of spectral processing. . * bthresher~ similar to thresher~ but with more control * burrow~ a cross-referenced filtering object * cavoc~ an 8-rule cellular automata that generates spectra * cavoc27~ a 27-rule cellular automata object * centerring~ a spectral modulation object * codepend~ a classic block convolution object * crossx~ a cross synthesis object with gating * dentist~ a partial knockout object * disarrain~ an interpolating version of disarray~ * disarray~ a spectral redistribution object * drown~ a noise reduction (or increase) object * ether~ another spectral compositing object * leaker~ a sieve-based cross fader * mindwarp~ a spectral formant warping object * morphine~ a morphing object * multyq~ a four band filter * presidency~ a spectral sampler with pitch control * pvcompand~ a spectral compressor/expander object * pvgrain~ a spectrum analyzer for granular resynthesis * pvharm~ a harmonizer * pvoc~ an additive synthesis phase vocoder * pvtuner~ a spectrum quantizer for tuning to arbitrary scales * pvwarp~ a non-linear frequency warper * reanimator~ an audio texture mapper * resent~ similar to residency~ but with independent bin control * residency~ a spectral sampler useful for time scaling * residency_buffer~ a spectral sampler that writes to an MSP buffer * scrape~ a noise reduction (or increase) object with frequency control * shapee~ a frequency shaping object * swinger~ a phase swapping object * taint~ a cross synthesis object * thresher~ an amplitude/frequency sensitive gating object * vacancy~ a spectral compositing object * xsyn~ a cross synthesis with compression object . FFTease 2.5 objects will reconfigure themselves in response to changes in FFT size or signal vector size. Therefore, they may now be used in MaxMSP poly~ objects with downsampling or upsampling. Changes in vector size remain subject to limitations imposed by the current poly~ (and Pluggo) architecture. . Caveat: these objects are CPU intensive. A few of these objects in a patch could push your computer to its limits. Be very careful with playback volume as some of the objects produce dramatically different (lower or higher) overall levels. . Acknowledgements: This work draws heavily on the phase vocoder code presented by F. Richard Moore in his classic Elements of Computer Music. Additional inspiration was derived from work on cross synthesis and noise reduction by Mark Dolson at CARL in the mid-1980s. We also wish to thank Miller Puckette and David Zicarelli for designing and implementing the framework under which FFTease is presented. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. These clearly make sense as standalone libs: osc net cmos oscillators tabletools str But which, binfile, and midifile might be better in some kind of library. Like perhaps some kind of 'file' library for binfile and midifile, that lib could include a whole suite of objects to read differernt files.
