Yes

Even abcde:

- Optional: reutilizes the saved cddb files.
- Optional: rips a CD into a single file.
- Optional: uses utf-8 encoded tags.
- Optional: encodes to MP+/Musepack.
- Optional: encodes combination of formats in one CD rip: Ogg+MP3+FLAC+...

I thought a Debian package has the "free" part implied, unless is non-free,
in which case it should be mentioned.

Please, remove the free portions of your description, as they dont add any

Bug#529695: Collaborative maintenance.

2009-07-01 Thread Jesus Climent
Hi

I'd be happy to put the package somewhere where we can have more than
only me checking in the code and making releases.

There are plenty of ideas and patches that I queued on my inbox. I
will export them and put them in the repository so that they can be
integrated.

Right now the code is under code.google.com and requires a (free as in
beer) google account to access it.

Cheers.

adjust the soundmixer's volume and it is able to read and write playlist
files (*.m3u). And it has support for infrared controls via lirc.

Bug#154675: ITP: passwdgen -- passwdGen is a utility for generating random passwords.

2002-07-29 Thread Jesus Climent
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2002-07-29
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: passwdgen
  Version : 2.2
  Upstream Author : Denis Lemire <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://passwdgen.incoherency.net/
* License : GPL
Description : passwdGen is a utility for generating random passwords.
Amongst passwdGen's features is the ability to generate pronounceable
passwords (pronounceable passwords are easier to remember, yet still
secure), and generate passwords of entirely left, right, or alternating
 keys (useless).
 .
passwdGen is also designed to be modular. The main codebase of passwdGen
is a C++ class library. As such it is trivial to write new front-ends for
passwdGen such as GUI interfaces for various desktop environments.

No they are not the same.

Having tryed both password generators, I stick with passwdgen. IMNSHO it
provides better passwords than pwgen, and it is also more flexible.

I would hold the creation/upload of this package.

After an easy check of the code (trivial) it is obvious it uses a
decoder to transform the mp3 streams to ogg.

Since the Thompson/Fraunhoffer guys have just modified the licensing
terms, it is possible that Debian will remove, as RedHat has already
done, the mp3 decoders from the distribution.

Check the thread from

http://lists.debian.org/debian-legal/2002/debian-legal-200208/msg00376.html

or the debian-legal list itself.

pconsole allows you to connect to each node of your cluster simultaneously,
and you can type your administrative commands in a specialized window that
'multiplies' the input to each of the connections you have opened.
pconsole is best run from within X Windows, although it is possible to
employ it without X (in console mode) as well.
You need to install pconsole on only 1 machine in the cluster, this would
usually be your central administrative node.

No. rssh is just a wrapper in C for use as a substitute of the shell
itself. It restricts the command you can issue remotely, like scp and
sftp-server, and the flags and arguments you pass to them.

chroot is being invvestigated by its author, but not implemented.

In orther for chroot to work, you would need to put the scp static
binary inside the jail, and all the necesary libs.

only if scp/sftp-server themselves could chroot, the implementation
would be rather easy.

I have not investigated the later implementation, if possible.

Dunno. I found scponly which has the compatibility, but the ITP bug has
been without any entry for some time...

Maybe I will pack it for myself and provide it until the ITP owner
decides what to do.

Phaser was written to make CD burning under Linux a lot easier when done
from the console. The program itself asks a series of questions, and
uses the answers configure devices and settings.

Phaser uses the cdrecord package by Jörg Schilling to do the real work.
Lots of thanks to Jörg for writing the cdrecord package, which is
excellent by itself.

There was already an ITP for this package. I intended to sponsor it, but David

I was planing to take over his ITP but I get you can upload and maintain it.

Co-maintaining make almost no sense, since looks an easy package.

Bug#195948: Separate targets

Hi

I have been working with the target separation. It is a pain in the butty with
cdbs, but thanks to T. Virtanen and some other helpers (and reading some cdbs'
makefile source code) I have set different targets, which fail due to a bug in
upstream code.

The debian/rules looks something messy, so I will clear it up and send a patch

Bug#195948: Change to standard makefile?

2004-12-07 Thread Jesus Climent
Hi!

I have been discussing about the different target's option with Guillem Jover,
and it seems rather difficult to create a package which needs several
recompilations to obtain the different targets we want to obtain
(dspam-libdb4, dspam-pgsql, dspam-mysql and dspam-sqlite).

Is there any objection if we move to a standard makefile?

Otherwise, we need a makefile expert to put some time in the package.

Of course using debhelper plus standard targets is much easier. Which was my

Few points:

1. the name of the package might be a namespace polution, since it is too
generic.

2. after reading and re-reading both the description and the long description,
i have no clue whatsoever what the program is for. Hopefuly in the final

Bug#292902: ITP: mkcue -- Generate a CUE sheet from a CD

2005-01-30 Thread Jesus Climent
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Jesus Climent <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: mkcue
  Version : 1
  Upstream Author : Eric Gillespie <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://diplodocus.org/projects/
* License : GPL
Description : Generates a CUE sheet from a CD

README sports:

mkcue generates cue sheets from a CD's TOC (Table Of Contents). It
uses code borrowed from the MusicBrainz client library, and is thus
released under the terms of the GNU GPL.

Usage is quite simple. By default, list all tracks from /dev/cdrom in
the cue sheet. An optional device argument overrides /dev/cdrom. The
-t track-count option only lists up to track-count tracks in the cue
sheet, which is handy for CDs with data tracks you want to ignore.

I hacked this up primarily because cdrdao couldn't generate a cue
sheet for half of my CDs. I use this with flac-archive, also
 available from <http://diplodocus.org/projects/audio/>.

Being a small program, independent on cdrdao or similar tools, it can
complement abcde to be used with the -1 flag to backup your music in a
single flac file per CD.
