Bug#661110: RFA: isdnutils -- ISDN utilities
Hello Rolf, I have seen there is a problem with the pppdcapiplugin package because of changes of the ppp package. I think about overtaking isdnutils. But I also see that there are less users of its install packages each month: The popcon statistic says that only isdnutils-base and capiutils have >100 installations, all others are less. And in the popcon colum "Recent" only capiutils will be used 5 times - and one of them is me. What do you think about break out capiutils as standalone source package (similar to libcapi20-3) and let isdnutils package "die"? It would be nice to hear of your feedback. --- Have a nice day. Maybe cron should be After some online search I have also found some cron-like packages inside debian: * bcron = Bruce's cron system binary package sizes: 60 kByte + 8 kByte popcon = 25 Inst. upstream does not exist DM is active * fcron = cron-like with extended capabilities binary package size: 257 kByte popcon = 137 inst. DM seems to be less active upstream is very active: in Debian is version 3.0.1, upstream is 3.0.6! I would say the easiest way would be using fcron as replacement of cron. Bug#382732: ITA: d4x -- graphical download manager
Hello, now I have seen that this package is not fully licensed under the Artistic license 1.0 (as everybody would thought), but each source file have the following header: /* WebDownloader for X-Window * * Copyright (C) 1999-2002 Koshelev Maxim * This Program is free but not GPL!!! You can't modify it * without agreement with author. You can't distribute modified * program but you can distribute unmodified program. * * This program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, * but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of * MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. */ So all these source files are not really free software in the sense of DFSG and I cannot do anything on this package - unfortunately. Today I have received an answer mail form the author of d4x! And he says only: "I think that D4X is not needed anymore" without informations about licensing. Now I set this package again 'orphaned'. My alternative advice: use 'uget' (aka 'urlgfe') or 'aria2'. Fondest regards, Joachim Wiedorn signature.asc Description: PGP signature
