Yeah, sorry about that. I actually made packages for this ages ago[0] but hit some spurious problems which I never solved. Bug#520362: RFA: bongoproject -- Integrated mail and calendar system
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I no longer develop or am interested in Bongo. Therefore, I think a new maintainer would be appropriate. I've neglected the package somewhat recently. It's only in experimental and its only bug, #442349, is fixed in the newest upstream release. I should note that this package is rather huge and I think would require good contact with upstream who are very nice and helpful indeed. I'd be happy to continuing sponsoring. From its long description: """ Bongo is the integrated mail and calendar project whose goal is to provide software users love to use. It provides the back-end storage system, a set of agents who provide various parts of the functionality, and some end-user clients delivered via a built-in web server. Not only can the Hildon desktop be used as a desktop environment on a normal computer -- for example on embedded systems, or even cut-down systems such as kiosks. There was even a talk at GUADEC this year about running the Hildon desktop on your normal PC[0]. The other big reason is developing for it. Although the official maemo way of developing for the Internet Tablets is downloading Scratchbox and whatever else, a simple apt-get install hildon-desktop and you're ready is helpful. Bug#452150: ITP: sapwood -- Pixbuf-based theme engine for GTK+ 2.x
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Jonny Lamb <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> X-Debbugs-CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED] * Package name: sapwood Version : 3.0.0-1 Upstream Author : Tommi Komulainen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * URL : http://repository.maemo.org/pool/sardine/main/source/s/sapwood/ * License : LGPL Description : Pixbuf-based theme engine for GTK+ 2.x Sapwood is a pixbuf-based 'theme' that allows you to configure the look of GTK-using programs. The programs need no modifications to use themes; the support is built into GTK+. . The engine is similar to the pixbuf engine, but uses client-server design and pixmaps rather than pixbufs. It is faster and more memory efficient than the pixbuf engine, but doesn't do scaling or gradients. Bug#424875: ITP: libical0 -- libical offers parsing of ical text data.

Its new Maintainer is Art Cancro. libical is currently not in Debian, but there is an ITP for libical[1] already. Now, looking at this other libical[2], it is clear that it is a "modified" version of the original libical project, where the original libical project is what this ITP is for. So are these two ical libraries both needed in Debian? What is the difference between them? > Its used by the Citadel Project, Kontact and Evolution (in forked > versions). This release contains the patches from the forks. > The Citadel ITP #423911 depends on this. Interestingly, when I asked about the other libical's status in the bug report[1] for another reason, the owner of the bug reported that they were working on libical for Citadel too -- this is the main thing that makes me think that there is no need for two these two versions in Debian, if they both being packaged with Citadel in mind (ie. I assume they both work with Citadel). I hope I'm understanding everything here -- I'm no expert on anything ical-related, otherwise please correct me here! Bug#413148: O: bongo -- flexible and usable media player for Emacs
Greetings! I have packaged the Bongo[0] mail and calendaring software (previously known as Hula), but of course the name "bongo" is taken in Debian. If nobody wants to take ownership of the current bongo package, might you consider renaming it? I have no idea how many people are using it apart from using the popcon data[1] which doesn't show vast numbers. I certainly do not think that this should determine who gets the "bongo" package name, but I'm certain more people would be using the Bongo mail and calendaring software.. Is this possible, or even acceptable? Thanks very much!
