Bug#714836: ITP: qucs -- an integrated circuit simulator with a graphical user interface

2013-07-03 Thread L. Redrejo
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: José L. Redrejo Rodríguez jredr...@debian.org

* Package name: qucs
  Version : 0.0.17
Upstream Author : Frans Schreuder fransschreu...@gmail.com
* URL : http://qucs.sourceforge.net/
* License : GPL
Description : Quite Universal Circuit Simulator

Qucs is an integrated circuit simulator which means you are able to
setup a circuit with a graphical user interface (GUI) and simulate the
large-signal, small-signal and noise behaviour of the circuit.
After that simulation has finished you can view the simulation results
on a presentation page or window.

Qucs was in Debian until Squeeze, but it had to be removed because it
didn't compile with qt4 libs. Recently, upstream has released a qt4
based version, so I'm intending to include it in Debian again.

Bug#583384: Request to steal web2py ITP

2011-02-18 Thread L. Redrejo
Hello
Unless you tell me not to do so, I plan to upload this to the archive
myself and maintain these packages.
I've already worked in web2py debianization and plan to co-maintain it
under the Python Modules Packaging Team in Debian.

Please tell me if you object to me stealing your ITP, or if you're want
to contribute with some code I can upload today my current work to the
python-modules subversion.
I plan to upload the package in one or two weeks at most.

Regards.
José L.

Bug#402841: any progress with gwt?

2009-07-19 Thread L. Redrejo
Hi Christian,
Have you continued working on packaging gwt or just gave up?

Version 1.7.0 has just been released, and maybe it's time to set up an
alioth project in order to try to package this nice monster.

It's a very powerful tool, theorically free, and it's a real pity to
have it out of Debian.

Description : Tool for the development and use of multimedia
  educational activities

JClic is formed by a set of computer applications that are used for
carrying out different types of educational activities: puzzles,
  associations, text exercises, crosswords...
The activities are not usually used alone, but packed in projects. A
project is formed by a set of activities and one or more sequences,
which indicate the order in which they have to be shown.
Currently it's very used in Spain and its community
(http://clic.xtec.net/db/listact_en.jsp) has developed a web site with
more than 1.000 activities available in several languages.
JClic is developed in the Java platform and works in Windows, Linux, Mac
  OS X and Solaris systems.

Have you already built jclic from source? How? I tried to build it using gcj
a long time ago (that is, before GPLd java was announced)

I've done it, but using java from Sun, not gcj. My plans are uploading
this application to Debian contrib until java is finally released under
gpl. I think this app is too used and important to wait for java to be
gpl'ed.

 ... but failed.
Back then I also found other issues related to the packaging and licensing,
 and sent a report upstream[1].

I've been talking with upstream about some of the same issues and they
are about to be fixed. The most important for me: the depedency on some
external libraries for xml support is already fixed (but not uploaded to
cvs yet)

I'm interested in the package, but I was waiting for the inclusion of GPLd
java in Debian before trying to package it again.

Anyway, I would be glad to help co-maintain jclic if you are interested.

Let's wait until the changes to make jclic totally able to compile only
using sun java clases. Then I'll begin to work deeper in the package and
ping you. By the way, I already packaged it for LinEx (our Extremadura
Debian based distribution) some years ago, but doing it from the
binaries, not from the sources, so part of the work is already done.

Thanks for your offer and regards.
José L.

Could be possible to add the ftp master report to this bug report?

Sure:

rejected, your debian/copyright misses information.
For example doc/ has files with different license than what you list,
including
non-free files. There may be more in other dirs, check yourself and
correct
your tarball and your copyrights file.

After checking it I've found that doc/fire* files are not free, but
still worse, vhdl files in directory ieee are not free either.

 * John D. Hendrickson [EMAIL PROTECTED] [2005-02-13 03:30]:
Linux ECAD is the topic today (electronics CADs).

qucs is on sourceforge.net and works with debian easily. It seems to be
far better than any package debian has and is under active developement.

The procedure for requesting a package in Debian is to file a RFP, see
http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp Anyway, I see that someone has
indicated their interest in this package already (see
http://bugs.debian.org/252450). I'm CCing them to this message so
 they can comment.

Oh. A real debian bug too. Oregano is labeled a GPL sim. However it
is just a graphic interface for spice3: and it's oregano2 which is a
rewrite of oregano for Gnome. Debian doin't have spice3 (and
I'm still looking for that, since ngspice and spicep08s have compile
environment glitches - the annoying kind).

It's better to put separate issues into their own bug reports, but I'm
CCing the maintainers of these packages so they can comment.
