Bug#220345: Status of this ITP?

2004-12-08 Thread Luis R. Rodriguez

Its been more than a year now. What's the status of this ITP?
This is ridiculous. If you can't package it, then say so so others can
come in and do the job. We deserve a freedesktop.org package by now in
debian.

Get off your ass.

Oh nice... :) If I get around to a manpage I'll send it over. Did you
use the almighty cdbs -- mine does?

It's a plugin for evolution so you can talk to an exchange server. It
was just recently released as GPL by Novell.

Here's the slashdot news about it:

Ahh ok. Oh well Jeff already has the package in the repository :) So
I'll see if I just work on helping with the manpage.

Thanks :)

Sure thing, Jeff. So should this package I'm working on be the one we'll
work on debian? Or do you have some other work ready?

Bug#248555: Package status

2004-05-12 Thread Luis R. Rodriguez

Is this package done? I forgot to check ITP list first, so I just
started my own. Here's what I have so far:

http://ruslug.rutgers.edu/~mcgrof/debian/ximian-connector/
http://ruslug.rutgers.edu/~mcgrof/debian/ximian-connector/ximian-connector-debian/ximian-connector_1.4.7-1_i386.deb

It uses cdbs :)

Lintian complains a bit, and I have no manpage ready. I'll be working on fixing
that.

Here is the meaninful output:

configure:2096: cc --version &5
/home/mcgrof/DEV/DEBIAN/grubconf-0.5/2/grubconf-0.5/./configure: line 1:
cc: command not found
configure:2099: $? = 127

It seems gcc nor gcc-3.3 set /usr/bin/cc ---> /usr/bin/gcc sym link.

Anyway, after that, it didn't run into this problem but ran into a
second one:

Oh .. it'd help if I showed what my rules looks like eeh 8)? Here it is:

#!/usr/bin/make -f

Well it doesn't build right. I tells me a config.* something file is
missing, I forget which one... something that autoconfg && automake
seems to fix. Presumably using the autofile.mk (or whatever it's called,
I forget) will run these no?

Well I actually do need to depend on at least gcc-3.2, since I know for
sure it definitely doesn't build with gcc 2.95. Therefore, I've added
the depends:

gcc (>= 4:3.2)

Yeap, it does compile when autoconf2.13 is used. 8)

OK, automake1.4 seems to be the requirement. It won't work with
automake1.8. I've added this requirement.

Yes it does 8).

New package:
http://ruslug.rutgers.edu/~mcgrof/grubconf/grubconf-0.5-debian/

I think for now I'd like to stick to not using CDBS, but I will try to
migrate.

I've given CDBS rules files a shot without success. I'll keep trying

Let me know how this one is.

Thanks!

Grubconf 0.5 debian package:

Sorry for the long delay. I had to graduate, and get a job.

Anyway, here is a tarball of all the sources:
http://ruslug.rutgers.edu/~mcgrof/grubconf/grubconf-0.5-debian.tar.bz2

Anything else required? I promise to be more attentive now 8)

I'll pass this idea along to the upstream source mantainers. Hopefully
it's not a dead project since I see the sources haven't been touched in a
while.

You can retrieve my first version of the package here:
http://ruslug.rutgers.edu/~mcgrof/grubconf

There I have a small patch too that I made. I already submitted it to the
upstream source guys too.

ABOUT

Grubconf is a Gnome2 based GRUB configuration editor. It provides
an easy to use interface allowing effortless modification of OS's
and the flexibility to configure the most obscure options.
Designed to require minimal user interaction while providing tools
for the most adventurous user.

Grubconf must be run as ROOT. This is to gain access to the
grub configuration file.

Notes: I need a sponsor. The package is ready.
