Bug#748489: O: traceroute -- Traces the route taken by packets over an IPv4/IPv6 network
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I intend to orphan the traceroute package. The package description is: The traceroute utility displays the route used by IP packets on their way to a specified network (or Internet) host. Traceroute displays the IP number and host name (if possible) of the machines along the route taken by the packets. Traceroute is used as a network debugging tool. If you're having network connectivity problems, traceroute will show you where the trouble is coming from along the route. . Bug#748487: RFA: ipmitool -- utility for IPMI control with kernel driver or LAN interface
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I request an adopter for the ipmitool package. The package description is: A utility for managing and configuring devices that support the Intelligent Platform Management Interface. IPMI is an open standard for monitoring, logging, recovery, inventory, and control of hardware that is implemented independent of the main CPU, BIOS, and OS. The service processor (or Baseboard Management Controller, BMC) is the brain behind platform management and its primary purpose is to handle the autonomous sensor monitoring and event logging features. . The ipmitool program provides a simple command-line interface to this BMC. It features the ability to read the sensor data repository (SDR) and print sensor values, display the contents of the System Event Log (SEL), print Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) inventory information, read and set LAN configuration parameters, and perform remote chassis power control. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". This will often include usage status for the CPU sockets, expansion slots (e.g. AGP, PCI, ISA) and memory module slots, and the list of I/O ports (e.g. serial, parallel, USB). . Bug#674904: Some packaging questions regarding Soft-iWARP
Hi I want to package the kernel module and userspace library for Soft-iWARP in Debian. Though there are some things that are not very clear to me: * Is there only the gitorious site or is there a website I can link to for more information regarding Soft-iWARP? * What's the version of the kernel module and the userspace library and how will it evolve? * Is there a particular reason why there are no tarballs to distribute the software (this would also make the versioning easier I guess)? * Should bug reports and feature requests be sent to this email address or is there a bugtracker? * Currently it's needed to run autogen.sh twice, would it not be better to use autoreconf instead? Unless there are kerberos or nfs4 related regressions, there don't seem to be real regressions reported. The issues that are reported quite a lot are problems related with the init scripts though. Do you mind if I try to come up with some init script changes that make sure depended on services are tested for availability and services don't hang unnecessary? I have the feeling that changes there would be welcomed most by our userbase as I can read quite some frustration in the bug reports. Cheers Luk PS: The reason so many bugs are reported related to initscripts very probably are a result from the different behaviour of the init system (running things in parallel) and hotplug system (background handling if possible) and/or cleaning up of other init scripts which cause faster execution of our init scripts. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Yes, it is as people are thinking of removing translations from packages due to size considerations and moving them to some sort of translation packages, the same will probably be true for documentation translations. Thus having one (or a couple of) Dutch translation package(s) instead of translations in almost all packages...
