Bug#464546: prototype and scriptaculous debian packages

2008-02-16 Thread Marcelo Jorge Vieira (metal)
Hi Daniel,
I observed that there are several packages using the prototype[0]
and scriptaculous[1] libs; Then I decided to create these packages
to keep a single copy of them in debian repository.

Talking with my friend Gustavo Noronha (kov) <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>,
he proposed creating a javascript-common package that would expose
packages installed in /usr/share/javascript/

I've opened two ITP (#464545, #464546) on Feb 7 and I started
working on them. The packages are in mentors repository: libjs-prototype[2],
libjs-scriptaculous[3], javascript-common[4].

Today, while reading the Debian NEW queue I observed that you've uploaded
prototype and scriptaculous libs.

I have a great interest in maintaning these packages, how can we work together?

cheers,

Description : GNU gettext library is one of best localization libraries

Since this is rarely the case, PHP-gettext is developed to be able to
read gettext MO files directly, without requiring anything other than
 PHP.

Currently, it's usable if you develop most of the infrastructure
for choosing language on your own, because it's possible to use
both gettext() and ngettext() calls. In the near future,
it should also be fully compatible drop-in replacement
for all of gettext functionality written in PHP.

Police?! =P

It was not clear to me who the copyright holder was. In a previous
message, you made it clear that it was partly IOLA and partly you,
and that no one else held rights since they were very small changes.

Since you are the only author not willing to update the copyright
information in the file headers, and you have stated that to me,
I'm OK with using the information from your email only.

Bug#440602: tinytinyrss (tt-rss) package status

2010-04-16 Thread Marcelo Jorge Vieira (metal)
Hi Jan,

> what about the package? Who is the status? :)

I imported my old package to Git repository. As it is a very
old version (1.2.28), I also imported the new upstream release (1.4.1)
and published it, here:

git clone git://git.debian.org/users/metal/tt-rss.git
http://git.debian.org/?p=users/metal/tt-rss.git;a=summary

As I said, this is a very old package and needs more work...
Can you help me?

Cheers,

Bug#581898: ITP: xmlextras - - creates a common interface to use of the XML objects provided by IE and Mozilla

2010-05-16 Thread Marcelo Jorge Vieira (metal)
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Marcelo Jorge Vieira (metal)

* Package name: libjs-xmlextras
  Version : not mentioned
  Upstream Author : Erik Arvidsson
* URL : http://webfx.eae.net/dhtml/xmlextras/xmlextras.html
* License : Apache Software License 2.0
  Programming Lang: JavaScript
Description : creates a common interface to use of the XML objects
provided by IE and Mozilla

The usage of XML inside the browser has been around for a while
but not until lately has it been possible to get this to work
in a satisfactory way in more than one browser. A while back
Mozilla added support for creating MS compatible XML classes
scriptable from JavaScript.

This script creates a common interface for Mozilla and IE
and also extends the Mozilla classes a little to make
them behave even more like the Microsoft interfaces.

This packages contains an embedded copy of xmlextras:

+ libjs-jac
+ phpwiki
+ monodoc-http

Bug#500697: mootools repository

2009-03-02 Thread Marcelo Jorge Vieira (metal)
hi Daniel,
I've already sent the package and it was rejected, because of several
copyright
related problems (with no claim of completeness):

* One can't simply include LGPL code and distribute the result
  under MIT

* The BSD license has not many restrictions, but you have to
include the original copyright statement, which is not the
  case here.

* It might be interesting what the author means by "Inspired by".
Depending on the level of inspiration those sources need to be
  mentioned in debian/copyright, too

I've not contacted upstream yet, but this week I'll work on the package.
If you want help, the repository is:
git://git.debian.org/pkg-javascript/mootools-core.git

Cheers,
