Bug#366681: ITP: pdns-recursor -- PowerDNS recursor

2006-05-10 Thread Matthijs Mohlmann

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Matthijs Mohlmann <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: pdns-recursor
  Version : 3.0.1
  Upstream Author : Bert Hubert <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://www.powerdns.com/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : PowerDNS recursor

PowerDNS is a versatile nameserver which supports a large number
of different backends ranging from simple zonefiles to relational
databases and load balancing/failover algorithms.
PowerDNS tries to emphasize speed and security.

This is the recursive nameserver that goes out to the internet and
resolve queries about other domains.

The pdns source package will be split into pdns and pdns-recursor source
package, upstream now delivers two source packages.

Hi,

As I am not yet a developer (doesn't take that long anymore) and as I
have pretty much experience with ldap, I think I can take this over. So
I retitled the bug to ITA.

Are you willing to sponsor uploads if there is no DD in the maintainer
team ?

Last question about this: What about openldap 2.1.30 ?

Can you add me to the svn repository ?

Regards,

Matthijs Mohlmann

Hi,

I'm willing to maintain this package, and sure this is a complex package
and I really want to do that in team maintainence.

Is there svn repository and or mailinglist for this package ?

Ok, I started a irc channel on the freenode network #debian-dspam,
probably it's good to have it and we make decissions about dspam. So
please join it and lets talk about the development.

I'm waiting for the alioth account, eventually you can get my work from
svn.cacholong.nl. (After I got the account I'll upload it to the new
svn repository)

Bug#195948: Maintaining the dspam package in a team.

2005-10-20 Thread Matthijs Mohlmann
Hi,

Lets take it together.

We are all trying to make a package for dspam. Some of us have the same
approach others have different approaches. Lets take it together so we
don't duplicate work.

Christoph has created a list at workaround.org where you can subscribe
through: http://workaround.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dspam-debian

I have now my svn repository at
http://svn.cacholong.nl/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/?root=dspam

And for using svn:
svn co http://svn.cacholong.nl/dspam/dspam

If anyone agrees with this please subscribe to the mailinglist and send
me your gpg pubkey and preferred username. (gpg pubkey is used to send
an encrypted message back) This is preferred as I have the stuff in svn
now.

If not, then lets move to alioth and work from there.

Please sent a confirm message and then start real development. I want
this package as fast as possible in debian, because I know already about
its nice features and I really need it on my server too ;) (I have
updated the debian/control file with some descriptions so look in there
too)

Further I hope that we can have a good relationship and work together on
the package.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Matthijs Mohlmann

PS: I cc [EMAIL PROTECTED] for people that I forgot to add.

Bug#195948: New dspam version release

2005-10-20 Thread Matthijs Mohlmann
Hi,

Please CC me, I don't get the mails from this bug.

Ok, lets do it together.

What are we going to do:
Move svn to alioth ?
Use the list on alioth or workaround.org ?

If you want to use svn @ cacholong.nl then please send your gpg pubkey
and your preferred username then I can add you to the svn passwd list.

For the list is the same, if you want to use workaround.org please
subscribe to workaround.org. (The svn commits are going there at the
moment.)

I'm still busy on dspam. It's not ready yet, and I'm move some
statically linked binaries to dynamically linked.

Matthijs Mohlmann

Hi,

I have done some intial packaging for dspam already. I don't know how
much people are actually working on it, also because the latest reply I
saw was from one year ago.

My packaging is not ready yet. And it's absolutely not ready for the
debian archive.

I've created a svn repository here: http://svn.cacholong.nl/ (Choose
dspam in Project Root)

Get the sources:
svn co http://svn.cacholong.nl/dspam/dspam

I hope I'm not offensive with this approach and if people are willing to
join the project and help, please say so.

Matthijs Mohlmann

PS: I'll work on it this evening. (My nick on IRC is Active2 @ freenode
network)

The libpam-krb5 modules doesn't work together with the heimdal-kdc or
reverse. I tested this but somehow it isn't possible.

Re: How to contribute a tool to debian?

2005-06-06 Thread Matthijs Mohlmann
Hi,

You can create a debian package yourself and let it upload through a
sponsor. So there is no need to ask for approval in the debian
distribution. And if there is enough upstream development then someone
might interested to sponsor you.

Look at the following pages:
http://www.debian.org/doc/maint-guide/
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/

For more information about maintainer ship you can mail to
debian-mentors@lists.debian.org

I'm looking for someone who wants to co-maintain vim, since I realized
that I'm currently unable to take care of the package alone. There are
a lot of open bugs that should be fixed, and there's also the upcoming
vim 7.0 package which is a complete rewrite of the packaging. It
should be easy to work on the package together, there's a project on
alioth using subversion already.
Drop me a mail if you're interested.
The package description is:
Vim is an almost compatible version of the UNIX editor Vi. Many new
features have been added: multi level undo, syntax highlighting,
command line history, on-line help, filename completion, block operations,
 folding, Unicode support, etc.

Bug#272485: ITP: emailrelay -- SMTP relay with filtering and spool abilities

* Package name: emailrelay
  Version : 1.3.1
  Upstream Author : Graeme Walker <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://emailrelay.sourceforge.net/
* License : GPL-2
Description : SMTP relay with filtering and spool abilities

E-MailRelay is a simple SMTP store-and-forward message transfer agent
(MTA). It runs as an SMTP server, storing e-mail in a local spool
directory, and then forwarding the stored messages to an upstream SMTP
server on request. It can also run as a proxy server, forwarding (and
optionally pre-processing) e-mail as soon as it is received. It does not
do any message routing, other than to a local postmaster. Because of
this functional simplicity it is extremely easy to configure, typically
only requiring the address of the downstream SMTP server to be put on
the command line.
