Hi William,
I'm no longer maintaning packages within Debian, nor am an official
Developer (thus can't sponsor any uploads) anymore,
but the package is Orphaned, so if you're interested in maintaining
it, the steps you need to follow are:

* Reply to this thread with a new subject clarifying that you have the
intention to adopt this package [0]
* Replace the current maintainer name with your own
* When repackaging `wtop`, add an entry in the `debian/changelog`
file notifying that you're the new
maintainer and closing this bug (ie: * New maint (closes #) )
* Also, perhaps you might want to get in touch with Eriberto [1],
since he did some work with the `wtop` package.

2009-09-05 Thread Mauro Lizaur

thanks

I'm sorry to announce that I'll have to drop my intention to maintain
this package: I've been running into too many difficulties (and little
time to dedicate) to maintain this simple piece of software (most of
them, with the new release: 0.9.2), so probably this might be an indication
that I won't be a good maintainer for gmrun after all and I prefer to leave
the task open to somebody else.
On the other hand, I can still provide the work I've done so far fixing
most of the open bugs (for release 0.9.1).

Saludos,
Mauro

Sounds like a good idea since upstream didn't released a new version since 2007.

Bug#541351: RFP: xfoil -- Interactive program for the design and analysis of subsonic airfoils

2009-08-13 Thread Mauro Darida
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: xfoil
  Version : 6.97
  Upstream Author : Mark Drela and Harold Youngren
* URL : http://web.mit.edu/drela/Public/web/xfoil
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: Fortran
  Description : Interactive program for the design and analysis of subsonic
airfoils

(Include the long description here.)
It consists of a collection of menu-driven routines which perform
various useful functions such as:
Viscous (or inviscid) analysis of an existing airfoil, allowing
forced or free transition
transitional separation bubbles
limited trailing edge separation
lift and drag predictions just beyond CLmax
Karman-Tsien compressibility correction
fixed or varying Reynolds and/or Mach numbers
Airfoil design and redesign by interactive modification of surface speed
distributions, in two methods:
Full-Inverse method, based on a complex-mapping formulation
Mixed-Inverse method, an extension of XFOIL's basic panel method
Airfoil redesign by interactive modification of geometric parameters
such as
max thickness and camber, highpoint position
LE radius, TE thickness
camber line via geometry specification
camber line via loading change specification
flap deflection
explicit contour geometry (via screen cursor)
Blending of airfoils
Writing and reading of airfoil coordinates and polar save files
Plotting of geometry, pressure distributions, and multiple polars

NOTE: The program consists of 3 source codes: xfoil, pplot and px_plot.
I have successfully compiled xfoil and pplot with the Fortran GNU
compiler; it gives an error with px_plot and I was unable to contact the
upstream author (I am no expert, maybe it needs a simple fix). I am
aware of a very old debian unofficial package of this software, no
longer maintained. It would be nice to see it in debian.

Bug#593967: Subject: ITP: python-oauth2 -- An interface to create OAuth clients and servers.

2010-08-22 Thread Mauro Lizaur
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Mauro Lizaur

* Package name: python-oauth2
  Version : 1.2.1
  Upstream Author : SimpleGeo Inc.
* URL : http://github.com/simplegeo/python-oauth2
* License : MIT License
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : A fully tested, abstract interface to creating OAuth
clients and servers.

This code was originally forked from Leah Culver and Andy Smith's oauth.py
code. Some of the tests come from a fork by Vic Fryzel, while a revamped
Request class and more tests were merged in from Mark Paschal's fork.
A number of notable differences exist between this code and its forefathers:

* 100% unit test coverage.
* The DataStore object has been completely ripped out. While creating
  unit tests for the library I found several substantial bugs with the
  implementation and confirmed with Andy Smith that it was never fully
  baked.
* Classes are no longer prefixed with OAuth.
* The Request class now extends from dict.
* The library is likely no longer compatible with Python 2.3.
* The Client class works and extends from httplib2. It's a thin wrapper
  that handles automatically signing any normal HTTP request you might
  wish to make.

I guess we could, but it wouldn't be a very smart move to be honest.
Please, read the paragraphs written by Stefano, he made some interesting
points.

Also what I meant with that line was that when I need to copy a file to
(let's say) my cellphone in a simple (and/or stupid) way, this can easily
be achieved with that Python module. But at the same time, waiting for you
to answer the question we all have: What does it do?

Proptip:
Perhaps the usage of the following words might help you to convince us all.
 * scalable (This one is a sure-shot)
 * non-blocking
 * über-fast
 * «web2.0 ready» (I guess this one is kinda demodé these days anyway)
 * «Sarcasm inside» (Hope Intel doesn't get mad over this)

Saludos,
Mauro

Bug#443952: Nodoka theme for possible inclusion into metacity-themes?

Yeah, sure.
I think that would be OK to add this theme to the metacity-themes package.
Just remember to report a bug against it with this request as "whishlist".

I think that we both agree that if I add the Nodoka theme to
metacity-themes, this package wouldn't be necessary anymore, so how do
you think you could provide a solution to this /merging/?
I mean, requesting its removal isn't the cleanest solution for me.
Perhaps making a dummy package of this to have metacity-packages as
its dependency?
Though at the same time, if you just want to download Nodoka theme and
nothing else, you might not like having to download the extra
themes... but i don't really know :-)

Bug#920956: ITP: fonts-recommended -- set of recommended fonts

You have my vote.

I, too, spend quite some time choosing nice fonts to install (and have my
own favorites so as to add fuel to the fire).
