Please note that there is geeqie, which took gqview code and now
provides active upstream for it. There is also pending patch for
geeqie package to provide gqview, which we will integrate once geeqie
will get out of beta phase. And then it will be time to drop gqview
package.

I'm open to change my mind ... well in fact we received it when geeqie
was alpha and was too much moving target to push it to users instead of
gqview, so we decided to apply it once geeqie will reach final version
1.0.

Yes, we could add something like this.

Yes, but the main objections there was that it includes the picture.
This tool is just a downloader. You can also use Iceweasel, wget or

Sure, as I definitely do not have time to maintain this package on my

Bug#349705: pybluez

2006-02-26 Thread Michal Čihař
Hi all

I just noticed that pybluez appeared in NEW. I already have there
python-bluetooth (although it is not yet on recent version), which
contains the same upstream package :-).

According to Debian Python Policy [1] I think that correct name of
package should be python-bluetooth and not pybluez.

The reason I uploaded is that it will be needed by Wammu that will
hopefully enter archive soon. However I have no need to maintain it
myself (in fact I have no bluetooth devices to test it). So if this
group is going to maintain it, please take over ITP [2] for it.

2. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=349705

I missed the python- prefix, sorry.

If you want python-bluez, it should be reverse, quoting from Debian
Python Policy:

A package with a name python-foo will always provide the module foo for
the default Debian Python version of the distribution.

So module (which name is bluetooth) itself should be in
python*-bluetooth. And I don't think second package is needed. Or is
there plan to rename module to bluez? I hope it is not :-).

It can enable and disable touchpad, or scrolling on it as well as additional
parameters like palm detection, locked drags, tapping and scrolling.

It is a successor of GSynaptics.

The reason for looking somebody else to take care of this package is

Bug#599288: RFA: nanoblogger -- Small weblog engine for the command line

2010-10-06 Thread Michal Čihař
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

I request an adopter for the nanoblogger package.

The package description is:
NanoBlogger is a small Weblog engine written in bash. It uses common Unix
tools such as cat, grep, and sed to create static HTML content. It's command
line driven and supports archiving by category, year, month, day, and entry.
It's designed to be modular, flexible, and independent of external databases.

I simply stopped using it, so it's hard to properly test and diagnose
problems.

It lives in collab-maint SVN and uses svn-buildpackage:

Vcs-Browser:
http://svn.debian.org/viewsvn/collab-maint/deb-maint/nanoblogger/trunk/
Vcs-Svn: svn://svn.debian.org/collab-maint/deb-maint/nanoblogger/trunk/

Please note there is also RFA for nanoblogger-extra.

Hmm, this is dead project now, so it makes no sense to package it. If I will
time for packaging Wammu (it should be replacement for KAlcatel), I'll do
that (I currently maintain unofficial packages on http://cihar.com/debian/).

I already sent it there twice, I only wanted to update bug status that
the package is available.

What do you exactly mean by source? Packaging only moves dictionary to
correct location. The source tarball only contains those dictionaries.

BTW: I'm also the one who provides dictionary data [1] which are
converted from CSV data available from the project [2].

It's GNU FDL (and thus targeted to non-free) and there is AFAIK no such
condition there.

Well data is edited online in MySQL database, any other format is just
export from it.

There would be also slight problem with CSV sources that they stay on
upstream server only for one day, so checksum can not be verified.

Anyway I'm open to change, I will probably ask on -mentors for more
opinions.

There was no interest in sponsoring this package and I didn't force it
that hard as it definitely does not provide clean solution. However I
will probably retry it's inclusion once my Debian account is created
and I became DD. But it's probably okay to keep this closed for now...

As I'm not owner of the bug, I don't receive mails sent to

But of course it is okay to take it over. There were some plans to
setup MPD packaging team, though I've no idea how it progressed.

Okay, in this case it probably makes sense. However the common practice
for now seems to be embedding EXIF.py into the package, following
packages already ship EXIF.py at various versions (dd-list attached):

phatch-cli
photon
postr
pyrenamer
python-kaa-metadata
python-moinmoin
python-pythoncard

So once this get's packaged, all these should switch to the packaged
version.

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-

I request assistance with maintaining the geeqie package. I seem to lack
time to manage incoming bug reports, what should mostly mean forwarding
them to upstream. Ideally if you would be also interested in upstream
development so that we can actually fix the bugs as well, but this is
clearly not a requirement.

The packaging itself is pretty easy.

The package description is:
Geeqie is a browser for graphics files offering single click viewing of
your graphics files. It includes thumbnail view, zoom, filtering
 features and external editor support.
 .
This package contains standard feature set, if you want to be able to display
maps of photos based on GPS data in them, you want to install geeqie-gps
 package.
