  Description : Debian auto-installation system - ia64-specific files

This is an ia64 "port" of the autoinstall-i386 package -- arch specific
routines for creating an autoinstall disk image. Functionally equivalent to
the i386 package, but syntactically very different. Feature updates to this
package will track those in the i386 version.

Please ignore me... I had forgotten that I downloaded and installed the
.deb directly from sourceforge. Any progress on getting digikam packaged?
Personally I would love to see 1.6beta packaged in unstable! Let me know
if you want any help as I've already built the cvs version for my own use.

Regards,

 Paul.

Bug#156461: autoinstall status

2003-08-08 Thread Paul Telford

[ cc'ing the BTS as this affects my ITP ]

Jeff,

Can you please give an update on the current/future status of
autoinstall? It appears to be effectively abandoned based on the
outstanding bugs and their age. I have heard that progeny is abandoning
autoinstall for a new solution, can you clarify if and when this is
happening?

Thanks,

Hi Frank,

Have you heard any news? With the recently announced sarge release
schedule [1] it would be great to see this new package fix some of the
outstanding bugs soon.

Thanks,

 Paul.

2003-10-30 Thread Paul Telford
Hi Ralf (and interested parties),

I see that your ITP for digikam has been sitting for over 6 months now.
I have put together a policy-compliant package which is ready to go
(v0.5.1). I have made it available on my webpage[1]. If nobody
objects, I will upload it to the archive sometime next week.

Regards,

 Paul.

Bug#330593: ITP: lastfm -- an audio player for last.fm personalized radio

2005-09-28 Thread Paul Telford
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Paul Telford <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

  Package name: lastfm
  Version : 1.0.3
  Upstream Author : Last.fm Ltd <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
  URL : http://www.last.fm/help/player/
License : BSD (but see below)
Description : an audio player for last.fm personalized radio

Last.fm is the flagship product from the team that designed the Audioscrobbler
system, a music engine based on a massive collection of Music Profiles. Each
music profile belongs to one person, and describes their taste in music.
Last.fm uses these music profiles to make personalized recommendations, match
you up with people who like similar music, and generate custom radio stations
for each person. This package will allow you to play your personalized radio
station streams from the last.fm website.

License is listed as BSD on their site, but there are some potential
problems with a couple of linked files which are GPL. Need to resolve
this before I can upload. I'm already in contact with upstream and hope
to be able to get it resolved.

No problem. You can grab it from my people.debian.org page in the
meantime. The licensing problems that kept it out of the archive the
first time I uploaded appear to be cleared up. The authors have GPL'd
the entire code. I will most likely try to clean up my packaging and
submit it to the archive within the next week or two as time permits.

Thanks,

 Paul.

Hi Kevin,

I just heard from Progeny this week that the future of autoinstall is
uncertain. It will most likely be replaced by a completely new solution.
Unless I get updated information from them to the contrary, I will
probably close this ITP.

If you are still interested in autoinstall, I can send you my work so far
although it suffers the same problem as bug #169249 (problems w/ latest
libparted)

Regards,

 Paul.

Hi,

Thanks for your message. I do still intend to package this, and in fact
I have been working on some of the related components this week. I hope
