Bug#188803: ITP by Bill Allombert
Bill Allombert has already made new gap4 packages. He'll upload them real soon now. -- Peter van Rossum, Dept. of Mathematics, NMSU, | Who is peer and why Las Cruces NM 88011, USA, Phone: +1-505-6462217, | is he resetting my Fax: +1-505-6461064, E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED], | connection? Bug#188802: ITA: gap4
I intend to adopt gap4 and the related packages. Upstream version is now 4.3.fix4, so I'll try to get that out. Also, it is now released under the GPL. Peter van Rossum [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#189146: ITA: pingus
Package: wnpp Severity: normal Pingus is a free Lemmings clone. For several years now, the upstream code has not been in very good shape. A new release (0.6.0) is now imminent and is an enormous improvement. It does not have very many levels yet, but is very much playable. Unless someone has objections, I would like to take over maintainance of this package. The previous maintainer of pingus was Martin Butterweck (blendi), who died last year. I think it is appropriate if I remember his work in the README.Debian. Peter van Rossum [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Bug#183398: ITP: tex-skak -- Chess fonts for TeX/LaTeX
* Package name: tex-skak Version : 1.2 Upstream Author : Torben Hoffmann * URL : http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/fonts/skak/ * License : LaTeX Project Public Licence Description : Chess fonts for TeX/LaTeX Torben Hoffmann's chess fonts for TeX/LaTeX. Vaguely based on the older chess package by Piet Tutelaers. The included style file allows one to typeset moves, games and diagrams. This package cooperates better with the current version of LaTeX than Piet Tutelaers' fonts (packages as tex-chess in Debian). Bug#133605: ITP: tex-chess -- fonts for typesetting chess moves/diags with (La)TeX
Package: wnpp Version: N/A; reported 2002-02-12 Severity: normal Piet Tutelaers' chess fonts and macros for TeX and LaTeX are the most commonly (only?) used metafont fonts for typesetting chess moves and diagram using (La)TeX. It is available from, for instance, ftp://ftp.ntg.nl/pub/tex-archive/fonts/chess. According to the copyright file These METAFONT programs and other files are freely distributable in the spirit of TeX. There is one serious drawback: the package hasn't been updated since 1992! The example files are, for instance, still for use with the old LaTeX (2.9?). The package itself works ok with current LaTeX. Becaue it still seems to be in use, I'd still like to package it. The main reason is, btw, that it is used by scid, a chess game database, to generate printable output. Bug#90978: ITP: pgn-extract -- chess game extractor
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist I intend to package `extract'. This is a program to extract selected games from a collection of chess games in PGN format. There are several ways to specify the criteria on which to extract: textual move sequences, the position reached after a sequence of moves, information in the tag fields, and material balance in the ending. I believe `extract' is better called `pgn-extract'; in my opinion, the name `extract' is much too general for this program. It would also surprise me very much if the name `extract' doesn't conflict with anything else. (*) (Pgn-)Extract is written by David Barnes [EMAIL PROTECTED] and is released under the GPL. It is available from http://www.cs.ukc.ac.uk/people/staff/djb/ Peter van Rossum (*) I recall there exists a list of all possible files installed by Debian-packages, but I don't know where. Can anyone tell me where to look for it? -- Peter van Rossum, Department of Mathematics, University of Nijmegen, Toernooiveld 1, 6525 ED Nijmegen, The Netherlands, Phone: +31-24-3652997, E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
