 310857 317078 318024
 Changes:
 freedict (1.2-1) unstable; urgency=low
 .
* New maintainer (Closes: #206113).
* Updated with the new upstream versions (all, except eng-hun,
  hun-eng and eng-por). Added new dictionaries: eng-ara, eng-rom,
  eng-scr, ita-eng (Closes: #309814) and wel-eng. So, the source
  tarbal version bumped to 1.2.
* All the dictionaries unformated, fixed the headers, removed the
many duplicated entries for most words in the dictionaries (but
not all) (Closes: #186044), and formated using locale en_US.UTF-8
  again:
  - now all dictionaries have header 00-database-utf8 in dict
files (Closes: #317078).
  - fixed some spelling mistakes in the eng-fra dictionary
(Closes: #302549, #310857).
  - corrected the references to Africaan in the afr-deu dictionary
to Afrikaans (Closes: #318024).
* Added the file debian/README.Debian with a note about encoding.
  (Closes: #226895, #159304).
* Removed the files from debian directory: control.tmpl,
gencontrol.py and namefixup.py (no need any more)
  (Closes: #215014).
* debian/control:
  - bumped Standards-Version to 3.6.2 (no changes required).
  - removed Build-Depends on python2.3 and python2.3-dictdlib
packages and added Build-Depends on dictfmt package.
  - removed dict-freedict meta-package, and added providing the
virtual dict-freedict package (Closes: #205417).
  - added the new binary packages for dictionaries eng-ara, eng-rom,
eng-scr, ita-eng and wel-eng.
* debian/copyright:
  - fixed the text formating (Closes: #226904).
  - changed the postall adress of the FSF.

I will close many more bugs at the end of this work, I think.
What you can say about it?
Artur, what you think about my intention? You are the official
 owner of ITA.

I am attending the qa-meeting this week-end. If you need some help or

That would be wonderful! I am all for it! I intend to learn a lot while
working on lirc, and I am sure you will teach me most of it! :-)

Ian Murdock is also interested in Co-Maintaining. I've put him in the
Uploaders field, tell me if it's fine with you.

Of course.

So, now for the candid question... Do I have to add you to the Uploaders
field for you to be a co-maintainer or is there anything else we need to
do? I don't seem to find enough info on the developer corner...

We can set-up a group on alioth, such as gnome-team.

Out-of-date binaries have to be removed before lirc can enter into
testing. I filled a bug repport #260565 and Thomas Bushnell also
  #267323

Are they merged? Do you want me to take care of that?

Yes, please do it.

And a lot of bug reports need to be taken care of... I will start
working on the ones I can handle (i am just dealing with lintian and
linda + wnpp bugs in this upload). Whenever I stumble upon something I
can't quite fix I'll ping either of you.

Do not forget po-debconf translation too.

We can also find better ways to work in this more effectively (Alioth?).
I can take care of this too. That way we can have an alioth mailing list
as the maintainer address and we can all be in the Uploaders field,
 right?

Exact.

Mmm, I just hope this won't get too big for my pants ;-)

Don't worry :)

Yes, I am very interested. I am on vacation until the 28th July, we
(the Mozart developers) have just made a mozart 1.3.1 release. My
intention was to package that when I got back and then look for a
mentor.

We would very much like to get Mozart back into the official debian
release.

Are you willing to sponsor the packages for me? In the longer term I
would like to become a Debian Developer myself.

cheers, and thanks for your well-timed intervention!

I am emailing you because, I've found your package on upstream

  I had expected).

If nothing is done, mozart will be removed from Debian. Since the
packages you did seem in good shape, I believe that they could be added
  into the distribution.

Do you have any experience with Debian and packaging ? It would be nice

Bug#223819: RFA: murasaki -- another HotPlug Agent

2003-12-12 Thread Pierre Machard
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2003-12-12
Severity: normal

In last august I adopted murasaki. Despite many emails I've sent to the
upstream author I never received any news from him.

Last week a RC bug was filled on this package (#223197). A good solution
to close this bug is probably to upload a newer version, but the lastest
developpment version dosen't meet requirements to be include in
Debian[1].

Since I have neither interest nor ressource to handle this package, I
request for an adopter.

I don't believe that this package is much use. People are generaly using
the hotplug package. So if nobody is willing to adopt this package after
a week, I will ask for its removal from Debian.

FWIW, there have been a few other programs called greed that people
have attempted to package for debian already.

There are no reference in the WNPP database.

One of these is an emacs-based RGTP client, which never made it into
Debian (unfortunately: I'd have liked to have seen it in the Project).

In that case why don't you fill a RFP.

Despite this, several people including me use the software installed
from its .deb, which does use the name greed. That may cause a bit of
 confusion for its users.

Before packaging this games I made a apt-cache and I did not recieve any
answer. I did not see any RFP related to greed.

 See
 http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~owend/free/greed_1.3.0a_all.deb
 from http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~owend/free/GREED.html.

There have also been attempts to package other greed programs, e.g.
 http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/1999/debian-devel-199904/msg01568.html,

an ftp client. I don't know what happened to that in the end.

Nothing.

Maybe it would be good to change the name of this package to something
 like greed-game?

No. Because, I am not supposed to know every code name that exists on
the internet.

Greed is in the section Games, its description explain that it's a game.

What about more controversial games like nethack ?

Description : A source code editor written in Java

Jext was created to support Java programming language. But nowadays it
can edit many other types of source codes. Among them you'll find C,
C++, C#, ASP, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, TeX, XHTML, XSLT, Eiffel, JSP...

Besides it provides advanced features to ease you work. Manage your
projects with the bookmarks tool, categorize your opened files
through workspaces, directly open zipped files, get a file straight
from the Internet, mail your source code, executes system commands
within the internal console, type faster thanks to HyperTyper and to
the customizable code snippets library, add new features with plugins,
discover the advanced editing capabilities, use the internal Python
 interpreter...

Jext meets all your needs! Developers will also appreciate the open
architecture of Jext. Based on GPLed libraries, internal Python
interpreter and many XML files, improving Jext is an easy job.
You can even write your own plugins (in Python or Java).

are you going to upload his package, or package the software yourself?

I did not take a look at this package. I plan to do it. I filled this ITP

I plan to upload a Debian package. To me the most important is that

Somehow I forgot to X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-devel. Here's my ITP for the
driver for the ADSL modem I use. Bug number is #184605, if you have
 remarks or suggestions.

 Roland.
