Bug#458000: sphinxsearch

2009-10-24 Thread Radu Spineanu

Hi Guys,

Since there hasn't been any news on this ITP is it OK if I upload the
sphinx package?

It's already done, you can look/test it here:
deb http://arcadia.timisoara.roedu.net/sphinx ./

http://arcadia.timisoara.roedu.net/sphinx

It's heavily influenced by the work Marco did on the Ubuntu package,
with some fixes from me.

Description : next generation mirroring tool

Simba was created to be the mirroring tool and to get more control
over the mirrored content and (most importantly) more control over
the reports you can generate using the mirrored content data.
 Using Simba, you can:
+ Create web pages with mirrors status
+ Create web pages with mirror details
+ Generate RSS feeds
+ Generate Google sitemaps
+ Generate rsync configuration files
+ ... and more
Simba is extensible and has a dynamic plugin system. If you have some knowledge
of perl, you can write your own plugins and extend Simba as you wish.

Hello

Like i said in the wnpp report, it's the same thing, only
that the source and binary package will be named fprobe-ng,
which was suggested by my sponsor.

I made another ITP in case somebody wouldn't agree with the name change.

Bug#285041: ITP: fprobe-ng -- Export captured traffic to remote NetFlow Collector

2004-12-11 Thread Radu Spineanu

This program uses a hash table to store the active flows. It is
vulnerable to a DoS attack, as described in "Denial of Service via
Algorithmic Complexity Attacks" by Scott A Crosby and Dan S Wallach:

It is possible to switch to a HMAC-style hash function that offers
some resistance against second preimage attacks, but I'd recommend to
switch to some balanced tree variant.

I have forwarded this to upstream, and will wait until a fix is made.
