Bug#393700: RFA: sitecopy -- A program for managing a WWW site via FTP, DAV or HTTP

2006-10-17 Thread Reed Snellenberger
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

I find that I no longer have the time to maintain the sitecopy package, and
am looking for someone to adopt it. The current Debian package is up-to-date
with the current upstream version. Upstream support is very responsive at
http://www.lyra.org/sitecopy.

I'd like to thank Matt Palmer ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) for sponsoring all of my
uploads of sitecopy. He has also offered to continue sponsoring uploads for
a new maintainer if necessary (which gives me another chance to thank him).

The package description is:
sitecopy is for copying locally stored websites to remote ftp servers.
With a single command, the program will synchronize a set of local files
to a remote server by performing uploads and remote deletes as required.
The aim is to remove the hassle of uploading and deleting individual files
using an FTP client. sitecopy will also optionally try to spot files you
move locally, and move them remotely.

Question about procedure for canceling an adoption...

2005-09-16 Thread Reed Snellenberger
I originally intended to adopt two orphaned packages (goats (1) and
ksetisaver (2)), and followed the ITA procedures to the letter. I've since
developed a time crunch (a new job) and found that I'm not going to be able
to adopt either package. It doesn't look like this case is covered in the
"Work-Needing and Prospsective Packages" online HOW-TO document(3).

I've already retitled the wnpp bugs back to "O: x", but it wasn't clear
to me how to re-set the bug's ownership to eliminate my email -- I thought
about using the "noowner" control message, but thought there should be a
"default" owner for the bug.

Thanks

Bug#290920: ITA: goats -- a sticky-note type program for Gnome 2

2005-09-16 Thread Reed Snellenberger
Matej:

Since you asked earlier, I wanted to let you know that I've just re-orphaned
goats. I just got a job offer (yay!), and won't have enough spare time for
a while to work on the package.

I've re-titled the bug "O: goats..." accordingly.

Reed

Bug#290920: ITA: goats -- a sticky-note type program for Gnome 2

2005-08-19 Thread Reed Snellenberger
Hi, Matej...

Thanks for the ping -- I'm still planning to adopt it -- delays, plus the
freeze, plus some platform problems (it's always something) kind of threw me
off track.

But I'm back working on it now, and hope to have a package out for a RFS
soon (possibly next week).

Bug#294991: O: sitecopy -- A program for managing a WWW site via FTP, DAV or HTTP

2005-02-14 Thread Reed Snellenberger
Thanks for your notes, Janusz. Just to "close the loop" -- I do plan to
move forward with the ITA I filed yesterday, and have begun looking at
the existing package, new upstream sources/releases, as well as the
Debian bugs filed against the package.

Looks like it'll be fun :-)
Thanks,
Reed

Bug#294991: [Fwd: adopting sitecopy]

2005-02-13 Thread Reed Snellenberger
I'd filed this ITA for sitecopy after seeing the original "orphaning"
note. I would still like to adopt the program if the original
maintainer isn't interested in keeping it, but will hold off to see if
he responds to these notes...
