c) There is already a ticker in the archive - did you even *check*?

It's kind of orphaned and dead, feel free to superecede it.

Yeah, I noticed. That being said, if people could chose sensible names
for packages (I understand ticker was packaged a fair time ago, mind :),
we wouldn't need to care. I dunno what related name ticker could have
  gone under, but nevertheless.

Yeah, ticker's name has always been one of the (several) strikes against
it. At least I didn't call pdmenu 'menu'. :-P

Anyway, it looks like the gnome-prefix makes sense here, so this is
moot. Except I probably be be removing ticker from the archive one of
 these days.

I feel not to change upstream's name. I threw the gnome in because
Ticker is too simple and basic. I will admit that gnome-ticker is a
bit broad as well, however this application has plenty of room to meet
the broad description as it is only at version 0.1.

I always try to stay close to what upstream names and describes about
their application. The wonderful thing about our package system is
being able to change these things as we go. Upstreams description is a
bit underpowered, but will change as it matures into a more powerful
application.

gmodconfig is a Gnome application which allows (or will allow) Linux
users to configure kernel modules' parameters in their native language,
check for new versions of kernel modules, as well as download, build and
install, and access kernel modules informations (license, authors, link to

It's mainly aimed at non-experienced Linux users, however even long time Linux
users might find it useful!

Description : GNOME Display Manager (for Gnome2)

This is basically the same gdm package based on Ryan Murray Colin
Walters' packaging, but the latest version which integrates with GNOME2.
I won't be uploading anything for at least a week so I can get input
from people who would know better than I as to whether this should even
be uploaded - Ryan has said that he won't replace gdm with a newer
version because GNOME2 doesn't run on all architectures yet, but the
people who can run GNOME2 shouldn't be penalized with a GNOME1 version
 of gdm.
