Bug#318494: Comments
Hi Mike, as you migt have guessed, I rely on the ieee802.11 as well ;-) How far are you, do you need any help? Regarding your comment about the header files, why no make a -dev package and install the two header files into /usr/include for now? We can depend (not build-depend of course) on ieee802.11-dev then in ipw2?00-source. Bug#278075: ITP: libical0 -- An implementation of basic iCal protocols
* Ricardo Mones wrote: > * Package name: libical0 Are you aware that libical is currently pretty unmaintained upstream and has a lot of nasty bugs? In fact all projects who needed an ical parser (e.g. KDE PIM, evolution, OpenGroupware.org...) all dropped libical, forked it or wrote something new from scratch. Libical has been in Debian until some months ago, when it was removed from unstable due to buggyness and unmaintaindness. Bug#245684: ITP: ipw2100 -- Drivers for Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 (IPW2100) adapter
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Package name: ipw2100 Version : 0.41 Upstream Author : James P. Ketrenos <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and others URL : http://ipw2100.sourceforge.net License : GPL Description : Drivers for Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 (IPW2100) adapter This package contains the set of loadable kernel modules for the Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 (IPW2100) mini PCI adapter, which is a common component of Centrino notebooks. Preliminary package available: http://people.debian.org/~ley/ipw2100 I intend to upload to experimental because the driver is not yet stable enough. It works pretty well for me but should mature more prior to upload it to unstable. Since this is my first kernel package I would appreciate a review by an experienced developer. Furthermore, binary firmware is needed to get the adaptor running. The firmware can be freely downoladed from Intel (http://ipw2100.sourceforge.net/firmware.php) and is then applied via hotplug. The firmware is certainly not DFSG-free. Must the driver then go to contrib? Regards, Sebastian

Bug#197017:
* Henrique de Moraes Holschuh wrote: > Where is the packaging source? Where is the package for 0.5? Why > hasn't it been uploaded to the archive yet? Okay, I should be more verbose here with my wnpp: Presently there are two problems with wmcalendar: 1) I am not yet a debian maintainer which means I rely on sponsoring. Nevertheless because of 2) I told my sponsor to hold back the uploading of wmcalendar. 2) wmcalendar uses libical which is orphaned in debian. It needs a recent version of libical and I wanted to adopt and package the rc4 version but encountered some serious problems. The most important is, that libical does not have a proper versioning scheme. It has broken binary compatibility (and also the API) without changing the SONAME (which is still libical.so.0.0.0). I contacted upstream about this and hope that they fix it. Until then I can't update libical and thus wmcalendar won't work as expected. I'll bug upstream of libical about their issues and maybe start fixing it on my own, and as soon as that is done, I will ask my sponsor to upload wmcalendar.
