Bug#457486: RFA: gpsim -- Simulator for Microchip's PIC microcontrollers
Package: wnpp Severity: normal Hi My debian time is already taken by other debian things, so I am not finding enough time to maintain this package properly. If you are willing to take it over, be my guest. However, I guess it is a good idea to also adopt the documentation package (gpsim-doc), the module packages (gpsim-lcd, gpsim-logic, gpsim-lcd-graphic and gpsim-logic) and the ktechlab package, which needs gpsim. Therefore, please take all of them in one round :) Cheers Steffen The package description is: Gpsim is a full-featured software simulator for Microchip PIC microcontrollers. . Gpsim has been designed to be as accurate as possible. Accuracy includes the entire PIC - from the core to the I/O pins and including ALL of the internal peripherals. Thus it's possible to create stimuli and tie them to the I/O pins and test the PIC the same PIC the same way you would in the real world. . Gpsim has been designed to be as fast as possible. Real time simulation speeds of 20Mhz PICs are possible. . Gpsim has been designed to be as useful as possible. The standard simulation paradigm including breakpoints, single stepping, disassembling, memory inspect change, have been implemented. In addition, gpsim supports many debugging features that are only available with in-circuit emulators. For example, a continuous trace buffer tracks every action of the simulator. Also, it's possible to set read and write break points on values (e.g. break if a specific value is read from or written to a register). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. It is intended for peer-based file-sharing. In practise it works better than gnutella and other similar systems as it allows dc hubs (servers) administators to require clients to share specified amount of data. Hi I am interested in becoming a co-maintainer of gpsdrive. I'm using the upstream version for some time now and have a fairly good understanding how gpsdrive is organised, what is needed, etc. Therefore i would definitly appreciate a well working gpsdrive package in debian. Also, i believe this would be a nice starting point for me contributing to debian which i plan to do since a little while :) Nice, I am putting the current maintainer into cc and you can discuss future steps with him. Bug#387778: code duplication
Hi I looked into this package and as far as I can see it a lot of the source code is in the gpsim package and imho the libraries could be provided by the gpsim package. When I prepare the next upload of gpsim I will keep that in mind (as long as nobody shouts here) and try to provide them and after that this package can be removed from the archive. Dividing the packages would mean to take a lot of headers from the gpsim package anyway and I don't see a reason for that, but please feel free to convience me. In practise it works better than gnutella and other similar systems as it allows dc hubs (servers) administators to require clients to share specified amount of data.
