  Please note that ubuntu already ships a packaged one,

  I've Cc:ed here the ubuntu maintainer (hi Steve), can you please work
  together on a common package for debian?
  I've tried Steve's package and it looks quite well, even if I'm not
  really skilled on cdbs.
  I suggest you both to put it in a shared revision control system.

I'm not entirely sure of the process, but I repackaged it for Debian
(hopefully correctly).  When the 8.10 repositories open up, I will
request a merge of these two packages and would be more than happy to
maintain it in Debian and request syncs when needed.
