Bug#835374: O: libapache-mod-fastcgi -- Apache 2 FastCGI module for long-running CGI scripts
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I intend to orphan the libapache-mod-fastcgi package. Currently I have no time to maintain the package, sorry. The package already has alternative (libapache-mod-fcgid) by Apache foundation. It's DFSG compatible. The package description is: This is a FastCGI module for the Apache 2.x web server. FastCGI is an open standard for communicating between a web server and a long-running web application. CGI scripts supporting FastCGI can be started as a daemon and process multiple requests without restarting. This is particularly useful for scripts written in languages like Perl, as it saves the cost of recompiling the scripts and its loaded modules with each invocation.
Bug#835191: O: libapache2-mod-encoding -- Apache2 module for non-ascii filename interoperability
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I intend to orphan the libapache2-mod-encoding package. This package is provieded to support WebDAV with Japanese encodings mainly. However I guess that the package is not used currently. And I have no time to maintain the package, sorry. The package description is: This module improves non-ascii filename interoperability of apache (and mod_dav). . It seems many WebDAV clients send filename in its platform-local encoding. But since mod_dav expects everything, even HTTP request line, to be in UTF-8, this causes an interoperability problem. . I believe this is a future issue for specification (RFC?) to standardize encoding used in HTTP request-line and HTTP header, but life would be much easier if mod_dav (and others) can handle various encodings sent by clients, TODAY. This module does just that.
Bug#835190: O: libapache-mod-encoding -- Apache module for non-ascii filename interoperability
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I intend to orphan the libapache-mod-encoding package. This package is too old and a library is just remained. I think no one use this.
Bug#835188: O: ruby-fcgi -- FastCGI library for Ruby
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I intend to orphan the ruby-fcgi package. Currently I have no time to maintain the package, sorry. The package description is: FastCGI is a language independent, scalable, open extension to CGI that provides high performance without the limitations of server specific APIs. For more information, see http://www.fastcgi.com/. . This merges matz's C version(fcgi.so) & Eli's pure ruby version(fastcgi.rb)
Bug#835187: O: ruby-zip -- ruby module for reading and writing zip files
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I intend to orphan the ruby-zip package. Currently I have no time to maintain the package, sorry. The package description is: rubyzip is a ruby library for reading and writing zip (pkzip format) files, with the restriction that only uncompressed and deflated zip entries are supported. All this library does is handling of the zip file format. the actual compression/decompression is handled by zlib. zlib is accessible from ruby thanks to ruby/zlib
Bug#835186: O: ruby-filesystem -- Ruby extension for file-system information
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I intend to orphan the ruby-filesystem package. Upstream has been died very long ago. The package description is: This is a Ruby extension for file-system information, using the 'statvfs' and 'getmntent' system calls.

Please refer to http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=515708 and http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=564435 for (some of) the reasons. I see the project is alive again, and maybe discussion should be restarted about whether we should include this or not. Thanks for your information. However I think the library you noticed differ from my ITP-ed one. First version of liblocale-ruby I said was released at 2009-11-14 as 2.0.5, because it was splitted from ruby-gettext. # Project of locale started at 2006-07-27 on rubyforge. New gettext-ruby I packaged is much better way for OOP and ruby's feature. Furthermore It has GNU gettext like utilities(msgfmt gettext) specialized for ruby script.
