Bug#406344: O: openload -- Tool for load testing of web applications

2007-01-10 Thread Teófilo Ruiz Suárez
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hi *.

I'm The current maintainer of openload, but I have not been spending time on
Debian
in the last year. This is why I decided to orphan my packages, including
openload. I'm not resigning from the project though, since I'll try to help
more with
other kind of stuff.

Maintaining a package requires time and skills. Please only adopt this
package if you are *sure* you will have enough time and attention to
work on it.

If you want to be the new maintainer, please see
http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/index.html#howto-o for detailed
instructions how to adopt a package properly.

Description: Lightweight and high performance web server
Boa is a single-tasking HTTP server. That means that unlike
traditional web servers, it does not fork for each incoming
connection, nor does it fork many copies of itself to handle multiple
connections. It internally multiplexes all of the ongoing HTTP
connections, and forks only for CGI programs (which must be separate
processes). Preliminary tests show boa is capable of handling several
hundred hits per second on a 100 MHz Pentium.

Well actually, I have dropped the idea of becoming a debian maintainer. I
believe the stuff I've done so far to get a package done is working good
though. I don't know how to turn the ITP into an RFP at this point. But if
you want that package, it's yours really..

AFAIK, there is another ITP for this package, I'll CC ender and that bug.

But things are kinda stuck at key signing it seems (after two failed

   package?

  How is this?

If you didn't find the sponsor, I wouldn't mind to check it.

Bug#151847: Fwd: Boa Adoption

2003-01-13 Thread Teófilo Ruiz Suárez
Hi there.

I am in the NM process and I would like to take boa for myself since
it is a webserver that I use and I don't see anybody working on it. It
would be great if I could pack the new upstream's version and show it
to my AM.

I am good with C, and I really like tiny webservers like Boa.

Could I take it? Thanks :-)

Please consider naming it ptns instead of pts as the project seems to be
named this way (just looking at the url). Also pts is a unix problem
ticket system with this name. (not packaged although)

That's right, ptns will be the name, I want to finish it this

What I first thought was that you were about to package the

What are the differences between this server and the tetrinetx package
already in the archive? If ptns is added to the archive, should
 tetrinetx be removed?

tetrinetx is written in C, and pts in Perl as you know, anyway, I don't
think that tetrinetx should be removed. I don't know if it must be a
conflict, or not. I CC to the tetrinetx maintainer.

Should the package name really be 'ptns' (you have 'pts' listed above)?

The package is named pts, I think that ptns is just the subdomain in
SF, may be because pts was in other project.

Cheers,

PS: I am already in NM, so if I don't pass the process soon, an uploader
will upload my package after my AM have checked it, of course.
