  Description : Qt-based client-side and server-side SOAP component

A Qt-based client-side and server-side SOAP component. It can be used to
create client applications for web services and also provides the means
to create web services without the need for any further component such
as a dedicated web server.

This package is required for the needs of the Debian Qt/KDE Maintainers
team.
I'm packaging it as an individual and will need a sponsor to review and
publish it.

The repository I'm working on is here on Salsa, using git-buildpackage

Bug#913079: ITP: strawberry -- an audio player and music collection organizer fully based on Qt5

2018-11-06 Thread Thomas Pierson
Package: wnpp
Owner: Thomas Pierson
Severity: wishlist

* Package name : strawberry
* Version  : 0.4.1
* Upstream Author : Jonas Kvinge
* URL  : https://strawbs.org/
* License  : GPL-3+
* Programming Lang : C++
* Description : an audio player and music collection organizer
fully based on Qt5

Strawberry is a audio player and music collection organizer. It is a
fork of Clementine created in 2013, it's written in C++ and Qt 5. The
name is inspired by the band Strawbs.
It is aimed at audio enthusiasts who either purchase high resolution
audio files from sites such as HD Tracks, or rip their CD's to FLAC or
WavPack.

This package is relevant because upstream developers actively develop
and release stable versions fully based on Qt5 which is not the case any
more with the parent Clementine project.
It is also relevant because developers focus on high quality audio
handling witch is a demand of some Debian Clementine users.

Beside that I already maintain the clementine package which have a close
code base so I have a good idea of the work needed here.

I plan to maintain it using the git-buildpackage workflow:
* https://salsa.debian.org/thomaspi-guest/pkg-strawberry

I already maintain other packages as a DM but I will need a sponsor for
this package.

Bug#851529: ITP: kup-backup -- a backup scheduler for KDE's Plasma desktop

Package: wnpp
Owner: Thomas Pierson <cont...@thomaspierson.fr>
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: kup-backup
  Version : 0.6.1
  Upstream Author : Simon Persson <simonperss...@gmail.com>
* URL : https://www.linux-apps.com/p/1127689/
* License : GPL2+
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : a backup scheduler for KDE's Plasma desktop

(I chose this package name to avoid collision with a `kup` package
already present in the archive.)

Kup is created for helping people to keep up-to-date backups of their
personal files. Connecting a USB hard drive is the primary supported way
to store files, but saving files to a server over a network connection
is also possible for advanced users. […]

This package is relevant because it provide a full integration with KDE
Plasma and use modern backup sub-system like bup.
It provide features similar to deja-dup or backintime but it is much
more integrated with KDE and QT5 environments.

I plan to maintain it using the git-buildpackage workflow and I host it
here for now:
* VCS: git://thomaspierson.fr/pkg-kup-backup.git
* Vcs-Browser:
http://gitweb.thomaspierson.fr/?p=pkg-kup-backup.git;a=summary

I already maintain other packages as a DM but I will need a sponsor for
this package.

For the moment, I just get a usable package and I use it regularly but
there is a lot of work to do to.

Bug#658783: ITP: mate-common -- common scripts and macros to develop with MATE

2013-03-20 Thread Thomas Pierson

 Yes. mate-common was rejected due to an incomplete debian/copyright file
 and missing GPL headers. I prepared the next version and we are waiting
 that one of the DDs in our team will upload it again.

Thanks for your response and thanks for your work to get Mate in Debian
archive.

Thomas

Bug#579859: ITP: clementine -- Music player and library organizer

2011-04-11 Thread Thomas PIERSON
Hi,

Some news from Clementine packaging.

As you could see, 'libqxt' and 'libechonest' (the main missing depends of
clementine) are pending for upload in Debian archive. [1]

There are many people to thank like Jérémy Bobbio for his sponsoring work,
Lisandro who packaged 'libechonest', Bruno Bigras who send me patches for
'libqxt' packaging... You will find a complete list in changelog files of these
new packages.

The next step is to prepare clementine upload.
For the moment, 0.7.x release seem to be a good choice for a first official
Debian package.
Once the missing dependencies above reach unstable repository, clementine can
be uploaded to Debian archive.

Regards,
Thomas PIERSON

Bug#579859: ITP: clementine -- Music player and library organizer

2011-01-19 Thread Thomas PIERSON
Hi,

Some news from Clementine packaging.

As you could see, there is still no Clementine package in Debian archive cause
of blocking issues about embedded libraries present in Clementine source code.

This is not a problem for Ubuntu but it is forbidden by Debian policy. This is
the reason why a package was already available in Ubuntu but not yet in
Debian.

Actually, there 2 major libraries that need to be packaged to satisfy
Clementine depends and Debian policy : libqxt and libechonest.

I took the ITP of libqxt and I built a first experimental package. [1]
Maybe I will have to package libechonest too but for the moment I focus on
libqxt.

All of my packaging works is published on GIT repositories [2]. I am using
git-buildpackage tool for packaging.
So don't hesitate to clone these and send me patches or bundles if you look
forward Clementine raise Debian archive.

Bug#579859: Is there any progress

2010-11-10 Thread Thomas PIERSON
Hi,

 I see that there is some progress on the git repository.

Summary of what I am working on :
* There are some embedded code copy used in Clementine sources and this is not

allowed by Debian policy [1]. For each of these `cloned` libraries, I must use
a official Debian package instead.
* Some libs are already packaged in Debian but not all of these.

Issues :
* Some of these embedded libs have been patched by Clementine developers. So I
can not use directly the Debian package instead and I must ask to maintainers
if it is possible to apply these patches to there packages. [2]
* Some of these embedded libs need to be packaged in Debian.

Current state :
* I am waiting for review of my sponsor about this situation.

 But, when do you think Clementine should be available in the Squeeze
 repositories?
For the moment, I have no idea when Clementine package will be available in
Debian repositories.

I will post a complete recap about each embedded libs issues as soon as
possible.

Best regards,
Thomas PIERSON

Bug#579859: RFP: clementine -- Music player and library organizer

2010-10-13 Thread Thomas PIERSON
Hi,

Some news from Clementine packaging.(again)

I finally built a package based on Clementine 0.5.x. and I imported the last
upstream version 0.5.3.
There is still some work on this package but it is now usable.
I got a first feedback from my sponsor some days ago and I fixed some
mistakes.

Last issue that I currently working on is about embed code copy included in
the upstream source. Debian policy set some limitations about that.

If you want follow my packaging work on this package, you can use this GIT
repository browser [1] or directly clone the package repository [2].
(I am using git-buildpackage.)

Bug#509768: ITP: taskcoach -- a friendly task manager

2009-09-23 Thread Thomas Pierson
Hi,

I tested more than 8 To-Do-List manager in some work or project situation.
I just installed Taskcoach with an external deb package made by the official
developer of this free sofware(GPL) on my Squeeze distribution.
To my mind, Taskcoach is the best and powerfull to-do-list manager that I
have seen over all my test during few month.
It have an intuitive gtk interface and it is thoughtful. I think this is a
good tools to assist projects or jobs.

You should consider packaging it for the Debian distribution.

Tell me if you need help to packaging or maintaining it.

Best regards,
