Bug#743379: ITP: gravit -- visually stunning gravity simulator
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Tomasz Buchert * Package name: gravit Version : 0.5.1 Upstream Author : Gerald Kaszuba * URL : http://gravit.slowchop.com/ * License : GPL2 Programming Lang: C Description : visually stunning gravity simulator Gravit is a free, visually stunning gravity simulator, where you can spend endless time experimenting with various configurations of simulated universes. Features: - Stunning visualisations - Create unlimited variations of simulations - You can view the simulation in 3D without glasses using stereoscopic imaging - Can be installed as a screen saver in Windows - You can record, then play back at any speed - Stores every particle's position for every frame in memory - Compresses history when needed, for very long recordings - Mouse controllable rotation - Console with script execution - Colours can be based on mass, velocity, acceleration, momentum or kinetic energy - Save and Load simulations - Update display/input while recording a frame The package provides also gravit-data binary package which contains data files. The package is an interesting simulator which may prove interesting for people learning about gravity. It uses Lua to describe positions of masses and so is not limited to builtin list of simulation scenarios. I already maintain stellarium and I find gravit as nice addition to Debian repository of packages. The package can be maintained by me only (it's a rather easy one). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Bug#737871:
Hi Joey, I feel like I could maintain pristine-tar. I use git-buildpackage for all my current packages and pristine-tar seems like an important element. I have a few questions that: * I have no experience with Perl - is it going to be an issue? * I didn't know about dgit, does it render git-buildpackage somehow obsolete? I'm DM and as far as I know, I cannot use. Will dgit support non-DDs one day? Will dgit effectively replace gbp and pristine-tar? We actually packaged libx86emu as well: http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=collab-maint/libx86emu.git (which is now basically lintian clean). I haven't yet updated debian/control of hwinfo to reflect this. However, we found that libx86emu is kind-of part of libx86 and we try to resolve that issue with its maintainer. I'll keep you informed (it seems that the gitorious version of libx86emu diverged so significantly from libx86 that it should be packaged separately). > > In addition, I was using the old get-orig-source way of getting a > tarball from the OpenSuSE src.rpm. Hi guys, I may have nailed it. At http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=collab-maint/miredo.git;a=summary you have the current upstream packaged - it builds on clean wheezy and my mix of testing and unstable. It works as well. :) So that would be 1.2.6-1, which can be backported to wheezy. In "systemd" branch you have 1.2.6-2, which adds systemd support, but it relies on "dh-systemd" which is only in unstable. Tell me what you think. As a result I'm willing to adopt miredo package (but not upstream, sorry). I'm putting ITA as we speak. Bug#654554: RFA: wfrench -- French dictionary words for /usr/share/dict
Hi, I probably could take care of this one too :). Does the package have some rough edges that I could take care of? I see there is an old bug about missing words + 3 lintian warnings. Can you comment on this? Tomek -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? It would be my first package and as I introductory task I could port the build to dh (since package uses cdbs). What are the next steps here?
