I haven't found roboto-mono.ttf at least in Debian :( While there are quite a few mono spaced fonts. I have shared a few that have been installed on my system (not the whole bunch) - https://paste.debian.net/1285488/ One issue that I found out is maximizing the Window is an issue. I use mate as my window-manager. I do not have the key that you shared for maximizing window. If possible, would like the minimize, maximize and close that we have in MATE window manager. Sharing a screenshot of the same. Bug#831981: usb tool to make usb drives with persistence
Dear all, and especially @Matt Taggart, one of the things that many users have been looking for a tool to have live-usb with persistence. See for instance https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/118965/how-to-create-a-debian-live-usb-with-persistence As of date I don't know of any authorative way to do what has been asked. There is a debian packaging guide at https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/maint-guide/index.en.html There is also a #debian-mentors channel on OFTC . See oftc.net I am not aware if somebody made an attempt and even if they did it probably doesn't gel with the ways things are. I filed the bug in 2014, somebody shared in 2016 and now we are in 2018. Almost everything has changed between then and now. When I had asked, it was a baby as in notepadqq 0.20 and now it's matured at 1.4 . Both the build-dependencies and runtime-dependencies are in Debian. https://github.com/notepadqq/notepadqq/blob/master/README.md If you do the packaging then Debian, debian-derivatives and even Ubuntu benefits from it as it's a downstream distribution. There is possibility that whoever is running the Ubuntu officialrepo. i.e. https://launchpad.net/~notepadqq-team/+archive/ubuntu/notepadqq might be helpful although it is possible they might be going it via the snap way. Also Debian used to use alioth for staging, now it has moved to using salsa.debian.org (A gitlab instance.) While I don't know or do any packaging, I would gladly test out if you make any packages. I do hope you succeed in the endevour and we have a new editor in our mix. Bug#866502: unlikeliness of riot-web coming soon in Debian.
Dear Ian, It seems unlikely, I actually put up an issue upstream as well, but it seems somebody would have to package React and Electron and there is possibility of minnified javascript in those packages which the Debian javascript team would have to unminify and either send those patches upstream or hold it there. https://github.com/vector-im/riot-web/issues/4661 FWIW, the issue/ticket doesn't make any mention of minnified javascript but most modern apps. A little backgrounder on the situation https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2015/08/msg00427.html as well as https://lwn.net/Articles/703840/ It would be nice though if we can get riot-web through Debian itself. Bug#786808: would adequate be still in stretch or thrown out ?
Dear all, couple of weeks back I saw in how-can-i-help that adequate might be thrown out. I do not have the skills but I believe it is a nice tool to catch some bugs at installation time itself and I have used it quite a bit. If the tool does go out of the Debian archive, is there any other tool that people know that has similar functionality to what adequate provides ? Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: pytmx Version : 3.20 Upstream Author : bitcraft * URL : https://github.com/bitcraft/PyTMX * License : LGPL3 Programming Lang: Python Description : pytmx is a map loader for python/pygame designed for games It provides smart tile loading with a fast and efficient storage base. Not only does it correctly handle most Tiled object types, it also will load metadata for them so you can modify your maps and objects in Tiled instead of modifying your source code. New support for pysdl2 and pyglet! Check it out! Because PyTMX was built with games in mind, it differs slightly from Tiled in a few minor aspects: Layers not aligned to the grid are not supported. Some object metadata attribute names are not supported (see "Reserved Names") PyTMX strives to balance performance and flexibility. Feel free to use the classes provided in pytmx.py as superclasses for your own maps, or simply load the data with PyTMX and copy the data into your own classes with the api. There is no save feature. Once the map is loaded, it will be up to you to provide a way to save changes to the map. I've used the pickle module with good results. I need to clarify a few things: pytmx is not a rendering engine pytmx is not the Tiled Map Editor This is used by a game I wanna play https://github.com/dulsi/Tuxemon . The library/map loader could either be maintained by the games team or/and the python-maintainers or python-modules-maintainers team. Just saw your reply at http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-xfce-devel/2013-May/016492.html . I haven't subscribed to the list but do look at it every now and then hence saw it. I just asked the upstream developer what he wanted to do with it as I had filed couple of bugs I had encountered before and hadn't got a reply from him. This is what he said :- "Hi, Nope. Unfortunately I couldn't reproduce the problem and since I no longer use Xfce it's quite difficult for me to try it and fix issues that may appear. Calin." - Calin Crissam xfce4-netspeed-plugin developer. So guess we would need a new upstream and only then it would make sense. If somebody wanted they could ask the dev. and if have access to the git repo. at xfce upload it there. Bug#476284: Markus committed some stuff to bullet repo. under pkg-games.
Hi all, Just saw that Markus commited some stuff to the bullet repo., Amazing. See :- http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-games/bullet.git;a=commitdiff;h=a80b1bb What is/was most interesting is the TODO in that :- http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-games/bullet.git;a=blob;f=debian/TODO.Debian;h=53b2e901df88903aa89b91c359fdacbd05537467;hb=a80b1bb @markus as a user either way is fine with us for point 1 and 2. You have to see what is good for you short and long-term. If you want to have a package for each library that's also fine with us. What you can do in that situation is make the main libbullet package either recommend or suggest (depending on what you think is good) the other library packages. Another way would be to have a dummy metapackage which pulls in the other libraries. See as given in https://wiki.debian.org/tasksel (the part about web-server task package). You could also ask the same in the debian-games ML where I'm sure they would have some of their own guidelines concerning this. Looking forward to the shared library. -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal शिरीष अग्रवाल My quotes in this email licensed under CC 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com 065C 6D79 A68C E7EA 52B3 8D70 950D 53FB 729A 8B17 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#631383: Additional info about minpspw
-- Forwarded message -- From: Paulo Lopes Date: Thu, Jun 23, 2011 at 12:43 Subject: Re: need e-mail and license for debian To: shirisha...@gmail.com Hi, My deb builds are a super hack, basically i builds the SDK plus all the bundled libs and then pack the resulting directory to a tar.lzma file and write the metadata files by hand and compress the final with ar generating a "valid" deb file. If you want to make it right and submit to debian i am all for it :) My email is this one: pmlo...@gmail.com And my license is GPL, however on the installer you have almost all of them: GPL, LGPL, BSD, etc... since i list all licenses from all the sub projects, since all i do is patching GCC, GDC, GDB, Newlib, Binutils, ZLib, BZIP2, FreeType2, etc... (all the cross compiled libs...) Also it will be hard to compile since i do not host svn.ps2dev.org code and that site has been down for long time and only comes up now and then... you can fix it by pointing to http://psp.jim.sh/svn but since i always keep a local copy on my machine i never updated the build script. Just let me know what else you need to get a proper build :) BTW, it should be possible to build both 32 and 64 bit builds (atleast on intel/amd) i never tried on other architectures. Bug#631383: RFP: minpspw -- native port of the BSD PSPSDK with freely distributable import libraries and header files for building cross compiled homebrew Sony PSP applications.
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist *** Please type your report below this line *** * Package name: minpspw Version : 0.11.2 Upstream Author : Name * URL : pmlo...@gmail.com * License : GPL and mixed Programming Lang: (C, C++, C#, Perl, Python, etc.) Description : native port of the BSD PSPSDK with freely distributable import libraries and header files for building cross compiled homebrew Sony PSP applications. A native Win32 port of the BSD PSPSDK (ps2dev.org), with freely distributable import libraries and header files (DevPaks) for building cross compiled homebrew Sony PSP (PlayStation Portable) applications. MinPSPW is a project that started out from my need to write indie video games for the Sony PlayStation Portable Console. After realizing that the development of such software was extremly boring due to the fact that one needs to spend more time compiling dependencies and handling the quirks of having both the SDK and Libs available for *nix environments, I decided to port them to my every day OS (Windows XP 32Bits). This project is different from the Official Homebrew PSP SDK and DevKitPro in the way that once you install the SDK and a couple of DEVPAKs you can use your normal Windows Command Prompt to execute a build. No Cygwin, no MSys, no UWIN32. This project is evolving and if you would like to see some OSS library added as a devpak feel free to request it in the tracker. Of course I cannot guarantee that it will be available but I'll try to see how hard it will be to port and add a build to the download section and a build script to the source control system.
